This B&B is in a quiet location, lose to the village and convenient for the Cairngorms. The place is very clean and good Covid precautions are practised.
Our room was very spacious with a separate dressing room and shower room, a nice touch was a complimentary miniature bottle of malt whisky. It is a lovely B&B, high standards throughout and there is a very comfortable lounge.
There is a large choice for breakfast and all is freshly prepared by one of the owners, we were travelling for nearly three weeks and this was the best accommodation and breakfast that we had.
Thank you Ruby and Raymond and we will revisit if we travel to the area in the future.

We wanted a base to explore some of the Cairngorm region and found this amazing guest house by chance on line. So glad we booked and so glad that our wonderful hosts Ruby and Raymond, could accommodate our dates. We stayed in the wonderfully appointed Feshie with its huge bedroom and super king bed, lavish dressing room and en-suite bathroom with separate shower. The attention to detail in the room was first class with tea and coffee facilities (with fresh milk), home made shortcakes, fridge and even a complimentary "wee dram" from the nearby Speyside distillery. Although you have your own smart TV, you have access to two lovely lounges with sky TV and access to the patio and gardens. The Sutherlands only offer Bed and Breakfast at the moment which is disappointing because I would love to know what Raymond's lunches and dinners are like! If the perfect breakfast are anything to go by they would be damn pretty good! Overall, we could not fault either the service, quality or cleanliness and will be definitely be returning. Thanks.

Sutherlands is my favourite place to stay in Scotland so I was delighted when my wife booked it for my birthday weekend and invited our family too. The welcome was as warm as ever and the lovely weather meant we could spend some time relaxing in Raymond and Ruby's beautiful garden which looks towards Ruthven Barracks and the Cairngorm mountains beyond. The rooms are huge, cosy and sumptuous. This time we stayed in the "Spey" room which has the biggest bathroom I have ever seen (bigger than most hotel rooms). For my Birthday dinner, Raymond and Ruby served up a feast of scallops followed by fillet of beef then a chocolate and salted caramel mousse - absolutely perfect! Everyone was blown away by the quality of the cooking. Can't wait to return...

Just home from a lovely stay at Sutherlands guesthouse. Ruby and Raymond were excellent hosts. The guesthouse is in a lovely setting, is very spacious, has been tastefully decorated and is spotlessly clean throughout. We stayed in the Feshie suite which had a very large bedroom, a large dressing room, a huge bathroom and we had views of the Cairngorms. Great breakfast. Exceeded our expectations, would highly recommend and would not hesitate to stay again

We travel extensively for both work and pleasure, and have high expectations, but our stay at Sutherlands exceeded all our hopes for a quiet, clean and comfortable stay. It is a truly five star plus establishment, furnished to the highest standards and welcoming in every respect. Our bedroom with separate sitting and wardrobe area was immaculately clean and had far more than the expected tea and coffee facilities. It had biscuits, chocolates, a wee dram of whiskey and a mini refrigerator with complimentary water. The breakfast in this elegant and beautiful house is probably the best we have come across in terms of choice. We enjoyed the elaborate fresh fruit platter which is one of various first courses, then one of the many main dishes to choose from. We are vegetarian and had no problem in finding delicious food. The house is very well located with wonderful views across to the hills, woodland walks right by, and is just a short walk down into the village. Ruby and her husband can be suitably proud of the highest standards they have set and which they maintain. They are perfect hosts and we look forward to returning to stay with them. Overall value for money is far better than many four and five star hotels we have stayed in.

Superlative! Everything about our stay went like a dream. The Spey Suite was luxurious, with a large bedroom area including an extra large and very comfortable king size, a sofa, tea and coffee facilities (with tasty home made biscuits included) and a fridge.

The bathroom suite was truly epic, enormous and with anything you might desire, including steam room, a cracking shower and a huge bath.

The breakfast choices and quality were second to none, absolutely delicious.

And, to cap it all, our hosts were delightful, friendly, helpful and full of good advice.

When in the area, do yourself a favour and stay at Sutherlands. You will love it too.

What a place !

Rooms are enormous with everything one could wish for ... and more. The whole house is incredibly well furnished and the lunge area is extremely cosy with a log fire burning.

Breakfast was sumptuous, with smoothies, yoghurts with fruits and a large choice of cooked breakfasts.

All in all a fabulous place.

We stayed here for three nights to allow us to explore the Cairngorms National Park. We are new to Guest Houses and absolutely loved meeting Raymond and Ruby who were as warm and welcoming as their home! Wonderful hosts who have thought of every little detail. I’m gluten free and there were even gluten free biscuits in the jar in our room. There is literally everything you need! The house is Ona quiet road and the smell of pine trees were gorgeous, of an evening we could see rabbits hopping around so go carefully! Kingussie is a great base to explore the area and would highly recommend staying with Raymond and Ruby! Thanks for having us!

Lost count on how many times we've stayed at the Sutherlands. We were one of their first guests and it is simply perfect every time we stay. Ruby and Raymond are warm and welcoming hosts . Ruby's interior design touch makes the accommodation feel relaxing and very comfortable and Raymonds cooking is simply wonderful. With the golf course nearby and a wide range of walks we had a great stay. We felt very COVID safe!!!

We stayed at Sutherlands guest house while visiting Kingussie for our civil partnership and could not have asked for a better experience! Ruby and Raymond were welcoming and generous hosts - nothing was too much trouble.
The rooms were immaculate and full of lovely, personal touches. They were full of everything we needed and more (we especially appreciated the daily homemade flapjacks!). It was lovely to have such spacious and modern accommodation. We really felt at home and relaxed.
Raymond provided an exceptional breakfast every morning and the choice on the menu was extensive. We especially recommend the Scottish breakfast and the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs are to die for! It was lovely to be able to customise breakfast as well.
We were given lots of tips on local amenities and walks which we were very grateful for. The Sutherlands is a short walk from the centre of Kingussie which has a good range of shops and eateries. However, we also appreciated how quiet it was. The room, Truim, had great views towards the Cairngorms. We enjoyed watching the bats on our way home one evening down the lane!
We couldn’t have asked for more to celebrate and start our life together. Thank you both for an unforgettable experience and going the extra mile for us. You truly made us feel very special and we can’t wait to come back for our anniversary.

Is it possible to pre book for dinner before we arrive? Also can anybody show a possible menu please? TIA

Yes, you can book dinner, but it will depends upon there being 4 guests in total. No, there is no menu, as it is chef's choice for the night, but any dietary requirements can be met.
