Recently stayed here for one night. Comfortable with welcoming hosts. Great cooked breakfast plus other choices. In house bar with very good prices. Rooms were clean and enjoyed a good nights sleep. Would stay here again.

Stayed here for 4 days last week, good central location and comfortable room, Lovely breakfasts, you could have as much or as little as you wanted, really excellent, Loved Ilfracombe and would use this B & B again.

I agree with most of the points made on here, it is tired, there are cobwebs, but the bed was lovely and the shower fine. The approach road is rough and the last 300 metres are unlit if you're walking back late!, but it's a shared road so who's going to pay to resurface it? It's not a 5 minute... More

This hotel was not cheap and you definately do not get your money's worth. Cons: - Not a proper road leading up to it - No hot water for showers - Tea and coffee facilities but no mugs - Paper thin walls so you can hear everything (and shockingly the place was full!) - very dated and small rooms (but... To get to the Avoncourt you have to travel up a very poorly maintained road so not suitable for anything low, barely passable in a normal car. The outside is a bit untidy. Inside is in need of modernisation; the decor is dated, the tv (although not hugely important) is a small and crt type. The room was cold and... More

Not a bad little B & B for a weekend away as we didn't spend much time indoors. Friendly owners, fairly clean and nice view from our window. Didn't try breakfast as was only served from 8 - 9 which was too early for us, would have been better if served til 10. The private road up to the B... More

Would not stay here again. Booked via Internet, chose it because price very reasonable. On arrival we were informed the website had got it wrong and the price given per night was in fact for one person only therefore we owed double what we thought. Fair play, they said they would honour the price as we were about to go... More

The private road badly needed some tlc and that feeling just escalated the more we saw. The outside needed at least a lick of paint. The fawlty towers type reception area had leaflets from last year. The family room had a 'retro' tv that could only be viewed from one side of a bed. The cobwebs and cracked glass obscured... More

Stayed here at the start of a coast-to-coast cycle tour across Devon this July. Found the owners to be very accommodating and helpful. Room was clean and airy and the beds were comfortable! Lovely walk down the hill to the seafront. Cracking cooked breakfast, perfect setup for a day spent cycling into a stiff headwind!
