We spent 4 nights at the Olive Branch B&B, which turned out to be the perfect location for our winter break. The proprietors were friendly and helpful, with nothing too much trouble. The room was clean and warm, with high quality linen and towels. Breakfast (served 8-9am) offered a large selection, including fruit, cereal and a full English fry-up. Car parking is available in the municipal car park 100 metres down the hill. The winter rate is £2 for 24 hours. The B&B is conveniently situated for the High Street, harbour and other amenities, with plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from. We'd definitely book the Olive Branch again in the future.

Our welcome was warm and friendly, not least as we were accommodated at very short notice. We were given lots of useful tips and advice for our stay in the town. The characterful building was all very clean and well looked after as was our comfortable room, with spectacular sea views There was a choice of high quality breakfast to satisfy anyone, from a 'full English' to fruit, cereal and everything in between.

We stayed at the Olive Branch three years ago when we also ate at the Olive Room which was on the ground floor at that time. This time we ate at Tom Carr's new restaurant 1873 just down the road for which the Olive Branch is still very convenient. As it happens we had the same room this time (5). It's on the top floor and very comfortable with lovely views - although it would be nice if the window could be cleaned so that it could be appreciated a little more! We had the same problem with the bathroom as last time - the shower is in a freestanding bath and comes with a warning to sit in the bath to use it in order to stop water going everywhere. As we are of a certain age, we don't dare climb into high baths these days and certainly not sit in them. We'd never get out again! But this is a quirky place which is one of the reasons we like it. Everything else worked very well and there was an excellent breakfast. We would certainly recommend the Olive Branch. We were here 10th December 2021.

We stayed at the Olive Branch for a week In late September. The rooms were clean, comfortable and warm (I did say it was late September) . We were well looked after and the owners and staff were friendly and helpful. The highlight of each day was the breakfast which was superb. The building is close to the harbour making a good jumping off point for the coastal path. It is also near the restaurants, most of which are in the harbour area. We also chose to get a parking permit for the harbour which facilitated our exploration of the locality. I'd definitely stay there again.

My husband and I spent one night here. We had a twin room as that was all that was available at the time of booking. The beds were at opposite ends of the room. A bit surprising but given the space it was the most logical place to put them. The room was bijoux but as we were there just for one night not a problem for us. The beds were super comfy with good quality bedding. We liked all the little touches such as the tea and coffee making facilities in our room along with two bottles of water and biscuits. The shower room was adequate. The breakfast was of a high quality. We had to be up early in the morning but our hosts were very hospitable and opened up the kitchen early for us which we very much appreciated. The location was perfect. A stone's throw from lots of restaurants. The only downside but nothing the owners can change is the clock tower which goes off every hour and kept us awake and the seagulls first thing in the morning! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Next time we would be more organised and book a larger room

We stayed for three nights just before the August Bank holiday. Location is great. Stayed in room four which is excellent. Having a large bath in the room and a small fridge for champagne. Breakfast was really good with choice of full English to smaller plate. Many thanks for a wonderful stay. And looking forward to returning next year. Jeff and Tina.

Booked this place by accident, thinking we had stayed here before. Turns out it was a very happy mistake! The room was great, lovey sea views in two directions. Clean, tidy etc. We sat and had a drink in armchairs looking out the window. Lovely. Staff and owners were really friendly and the breakfast was great.

Stayed for 3 nights in the Superior room for my birthday. We were warmly welcomed and was given all the information about the room and parking that we needed. The owners were very friendly and attentive about keeping us happy during our stay. We were always able to ask if we needed anything topping up in our room (tea bags, towels etc.). The building was really great As for the room, it was absolutely stunning! It was spotless and looked amazing. It was an extra bonus to have a beautiful view of the sea and to also have a jacuzzi bath, fridge and a massive comfy bed. The location was very practical, perfect for a great stay in Ilfracombe. I would love to stay here again and will definitely come back. I will be recommending this place to everyone! We both had a lovely stay, loved the room, the owners and the whole town. x
