Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We needed to cancel our booking as my husband was taken to hospital and so I called Jo and she couldn’t have been more helpful. Once better we rearranged our booking and again no problems. We were given a warm welcome and shown to room 5, a huge room with an amazing view over ilfracombe. Following a great sleep we enjoyed a lovely breakfast, perfectly cooked and plentiful all served by an unobtrusive and efficient young lady. Thank you all for a comfortable stay and big thanks Jo for your kindness when we couldn’t make our first booking and allowing us to rearrange with ease. Highly recommend booking this B and B ( book direct , easy to Google the telephone number 😀)

Lovely place to stay. Warm welcome, relaxed atmosphere and really helpful with tips on where to eat nearby. The big three (Bed, shower, Wi-Fi) were all good and the breakfast was one of the best I’ve had anywhere.

What a cracking find. Central location, lovely family run B&B with its own bar next door. Great breakfast, lovely bedroom with a great view (worth being on the top floor). Lovely touches that I've only ever found in 5 star hotels. Loved it.

Did an overnight stay here arrived late but the owner was a absolute professional. She told me where I could park the lorry in a safe place. The hotel was very nice and fresh nicely prepared and comfortable. Stayed for breakfast then went on my way. Would highly recommend for a stay or overnight stopover. *****

Welcoming hosts, spacious bedroom en suite with roll top bath. Comfiest bed and pillows ever and a great breakfast, plenty of variety and freshly cooked. The location is great too. The room was well equipped with toiletries and tea and coffee facilities.

Very clean and welcoming , breakfast was very good but Room 2 not suitable for seniors. Up three flights of stairs and twin room was small with very little storage. Biggest problem was tiny bathroom with dangerous stepway on the door. Duvets were much too hot.

Lovely clean, comfortable, peacful, good size single room, bedding is soooo cosy, lovely hallway & staircase, nice breakfast room, vegan breakfast was a little sparce compared to what a non vegan would get, maybe could add some scrambled tofu. Just a few minutes walk to sea front & beach. Overall a good stay & would highly recommend.

Many thanks to Jo and family for a fantastic four nights stay at the olive branch. We were really pleased to have booked room five. This is a fantastic very large room with bay window overlooking the water front. Also has a jacuzzi bath. Breakfast is both continental and a freshly cooked hot selection. Both Tina and I can't wait to see you all soon.
