Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a last minute booking due to my original hotel letting me down at the very last minute. I was greeted by the couple who owned the hotel. They were a delight to meet. The room was well appointed, very clean and of a very high standard. Clearly the hotel has been subject to a recent total refurbishment. Everywhere I looked was immaculate. Breakfast was fantastic as was the service. Thoroughly recommended.

Beautiful hotel, full of character set in a very scenic location. Gorgeous spacious bedroom, spotlessly clean. Staff made us feel so welcome. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice to suit everyone , served in a very attractive light and bright dining room with amazing views from all it's windows.

We both really enjoyed our stay at Wildercombe House. Anne Marie was a wonderful host. All the staff are very friendly and nothing is to much trouble. We stayed in room 3, which had a sea view, large bedroom and massive shower room. Very well decorated, spotlessly clean. Other things in the bedroom, fridge, iron, fast WiFi, If you are coming to the area don't bother looking elsewhere we are sure you'll love it here. Thanks again everyone at Wildercombe House Martin and Sam

Lovely guest house, it look and felt more like a boutique hotel. The rooms are specious and nicely decorated and with all the modern facilities. From the moment you walk in the staff are friendly and welcoming, all the communal areas are clean and beautifully decorated. I really can’t fault any aspects of it. The breakfast are yummy and there is a huge selection of fresh fruit, yogurts, breads and cereals as well as English breakfast and delicious eggs Benedict. Look forward to staying again soon.

We stopped here for a night on the way to Cornwall. Can’t fault this excellent guest house. Well proportioned room (5) with lovely bathroom. Huge TV too. Great views of the Welsh coast. Nice and warm. Good nights sleep. Breakfast standard was just like a five star hotel. Loved being able to reserve our table. The hubby absolutely loved the choice of kippers Slough alongside the full English. Had dinner in town so walked down and got a v cheap taxi home. Also right on main bus route. Perfect pit stop. This takes alot of beating. Thanks for a great stay.

We loved our three-night stay here. Warm, personal welcome from lovely host Anne-Marie on our arrival, which was preceded by a friendly email conversation when we booked. Wildercombe House is a gorgeous Victorian residence which has been beautifully restored. All the features retained in the public areas, but the guest rooms have been individually themed. We had Room 5. A ‘suite’ rather than a room. Dining and lounge area, and huge bathroom. Photos of the room online were before recent makeover, which we absolutely loved. Room 5 has sea view also. Fab breakfast each morning. I had a few dietary requests, which were all catered for perfectly. We were able to walk down into the town and harbour also, but there are plenty of taxis on hand if needed. Anne-Marie has plenty of local knowledge for restaurants etc also. Congrats to the hosts and staff for high standards and awards won so far.

Lovely welcome into the property. Polite and helpful host and staff in general. Stayed in room 9 a very large suite. Description on website does not do it justice. Could easily be refashioned into a 2 bedroom suite for family dwelling but lovely and spacious for a couple too
