We visited the Park Hotel mainly because it came up as an internet result for dog friendly hotels. Over looking the main Tenby beach the hotel a few weeks ago had a renovation of the open guest areas and the hotel rooms. Our room number 307 was on the top floor located next to the lift this was really my only gripe as the lift was noisy during peak times but evenings it did get less use. The staff were a credit to the owners being extremely polite and professional even if the one girl was a Liverpool fan ; ) Ha Ha!
Breakfast was in the lower ground dining room and again offered an excellent choice of food. We also ate on a couple of evenings at the hotel and again had some lovely food which for the presentation and taste was well priced.

Our main reason for being there was to be able to take our dog and the hotel did not disappoint. Dogs are welcome in all areas except the lower dining room so breakfast / meal time we put him in our room. For me getting up (out of season) and going down to walk the Tenby North beach with the dog at 8am was lovely followed by an evening in the bar with him and other dog owners.

So in summary a lovely independent dog friendly hotel with a commanding view of Tenby harbour. We intend to return!

We have just returned from a stay at the Park Hotel and would highly recommend it. We booked it last minute so could only have two nights if we changed rooms. We were a bit apprehensive about doing this because of the wait on changeover due to extra covid cleaning measures, but the staff explained that they would get our room ready first so we could move as soon as possible, which they did. We could also leave our bags in the room which would be transferred to the new room without us worrying about them. We had a few issues on the first night but these were resolved efficiently by the very apologetic and friendly staff on reception. The hotel was spotlessly clean with lovely decor, both in the public areas and the rooms. There are some nice modern touches like built in USB chargers and heated / de-misting bathroom mirrors The staff are all extremely friendly and can’t do enough for you especially Sophie, who even brought drinks down to us by the pool making it feel like a special mini break. The breakfast was in two sittings and was run like clockwork. We were served at our table and was delicious with plenty of choice. The grounds and outside pool area are lovely / very well kept. The weather was kind to us so we were lucky enough to use the pool which was heated to 27c, extremely clean and again well maintained / well conditioned water. The North Beach is directly accessible via a footpath from the hotel but I would say with sturdy footwear. We decided to use the steps with handrails about 100 yards down the road. The walk to town was an easy one downhill but the return journey up the hill was a little more strenuous although we didn’t mind walking off our food and drink in the evening and you can always get a taxi or tuk tuk if you find it too difficult. Finally another great bonus is the free parking which is very rare in Tenby. We will definitely return to this hotel.

Stayed two nights and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The view from the room was amazing. The room was bit small and the bathroom was tiny but all was very bright, fresh and clean with everything we needed. The grounds are very well kept and a pleasure, with lovely terraces where we enjoyed sitting, relaxing and enjoying the views. The swimming pool looked very inviting. The dining room was very well spaced out and breakfast and dinner were very nice with a good choice during these COVID times. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful especially the receptionist who seemed to be doing everything. We loved everything about this hotel.

The good things about this hotel are: beautiful situation on cliffs above North Beach, a lovely but steep private path to the beach, a couple of very small outside terraces with views, an outdoors swimming pool and lawned areas to enjoy when the weather is good (it wasn’t), the small nicely decorated ‘snug’ lounge with a modern gas fire, and the cleanliness.

However, the bad things outweigh these good things. The room was very small, hardly room for two people and two suitcases. None of the public rooms have views of the bay, so you could be in a hotel anywhere. The bar area is bleak and soulless, and the restaurant is actually in the basement, and reminded me of an old fashioned cafeteria. The food at dinner was adequate, but we’d prefer smaller portions and better quality. There was very limited choice at breakfast. Nowadays you expect at least to be able to chose how you have your eggs done, but it was fried or nothing, and porridge without honey. Yuck. As for the coffee...😱

However the worse thing was that this hotel has made no effort whatsoever to accommodate people with disabilities. There is no indication of this on their website, and usually wherever we travel we expect that some effort will have been made. We are lucky to travel for leisure a lot, abroad and in the UK. My husband is disabled and has limited mobility. He booked the hotel because it said it has a lift. What it didn’t say that you have to go down a narrow flight of stairs to get to it! There are stairs everywhere, to get to the bar, and to the restaurant. Getting our luggage to and from our room was a real struggle. Nobody offered to help. Luckily he has some mobility and just about managed although in some discomfort. There really needs to be some indication of the fact that this hotel is disability unfriendly on the website, because these days we assume otherwise.

It really was expensive for what it was, and I understand that because there is a lack of even average hotels in pretty Tenby, they can charge what they like, people will still come, and, therefore, there is no incentive to change, but to us, it was very poor.

I stayed two nights in a double room on 2nd floor. Main problem with the room was the window blind which was very thin and did not block out the light at all so I woke up v early both days. Proper blackout curtains are essential. The bathroom was small. Breakfast was adequate but not great. The food seemed pretty dull. The bar was again rather dull. The location is superb and the path down to the beach is great but very steep and slippy so not for anyone mobility impaired. I didn’t eat in the restaurant as they seemed to want to discourage use of it by imposing deadlines for booking and ordering and the menu seemed a bit uninspired. No info was provided about the pool so I assume it was out of use. I noticed customers complaining about the poor shower and the Receptionist saying there is a problem with the water system - not mentioned when booking or on the website. The building is a bit unattractive and the landings on the floors seem dated and full of stairs. The lift is like a goods lift and old. The COVID security precautions seem to involve a lot of bossy signs and screens and arrows and make it quite an unpleasant environment. They seem to allow combustion engine cars to block the electric chargers and don’t seem vigilant about that. It’s supposed to be Tenby’s finest Hotel and maybe it is but I think there is a lot of room for improvement.

We have just got back from 3 nights at the Park Hotel. From stepping through the front door we had a great welcome, the staff were very helpful and attentive. Covid 19 rules were explained and worked very effectively and we did not have any concerns. Cleanliness in the hotel was top class, we did not have any room cleaning but if we needed anything we just had to ask. Cost of the meals were reasonably priced, the size of the portions was a bit too big for my liking. But very tasty. The staff were lovely, especially the lady on reception, she was very helpful and always friendly.
I will be coming back in the future, lovely hotel, great location but due to the time of year very quiet.

Booked this directly last minute. The hotel has free parking and is a short walk into town, it’s own cliff path down to the beach.
The rooms are clean with a bath and a very comfy bed. The check in was flawless and the staff are friendly and efficient.
The gardens are immaculately kept and there are plenty of seating areas including sun loungers and a patio that looks directly over the sea and town, a spectacular view to watch the sun set.
The outdoor pool is clean and not very deep, perfect for a dip.
The whole hotel had a one way system so we never met anyone on the stairs and the public areas, loos and rooms were very clean.
The barman was lovely and the drinks prices very reasonable.
The breakfast was very well organised with a dedicated time slot, a seating plan and table service. The full English was tasty with high quality ingredients and cooked to perfection.
I really can’t fault this hotel and it’s staff, a real gem

We asked for a quietly located room, which would normally mean top floor, away from lifts, at the end of a corridor. We were allocated a room on the first floor.

The bay window and sea/Tenby view was glorious in room 103. Others have complained about small bedrooms; this was not the case here, but the bathroom was miniscule and unpleasant. All the doors seem to be designed to close as noisily as possible.

Drinks in the lounge were supposed to be table service, but unless you queued with everyone wanting to have their drinks outside, you did not stand a chance of being served.

Decor is described as "classic". Read "dated".

Neither the lounge nor the dining room exploit the views: curtains are kept shut...?

It's built on a hill and there are stairs everywhere; totally hopeless for anyone with mobility issues. There is a lift but only accessible by stairs.

Our dinner experience on day 1 was totally unacceptable - the worst meal we've had in a long time; frankly we'd have got better in a motorway service station. When asked if everything was OK, we said it wasn't and we were asked if we wanted a replacement. We decided against and just left the meal. No-one bothered to come to ask why, or apologise, or offer to remove it from the bill. We immediately cancelled our reservation for the following evening and the receptionist didn't bat an eyelid, let alone ask why... we got the impression this was a common occurrence.

Breakfast found us being told off for coming down late by the female reincarnation of Basil Fawlty. In fact we had been told we could arrive for breakfast within an hour's window and we had finished and left before the hour was up.

To be fair, most of the staff were pleasant, but there were definitely stark exceptions.

Overall this was a dreadful experience for us and we absolutely would not recommend this hotel. We paid nearly £200 per night for the B&B and felt totally ripped off. We have stayed in much better places for a lot less.

There is so much wasted potential here; it just needs vision and investment.

The views in this hotel are to die for from sunrise to sunset overlooking the North beach. We had good weather during our stay which also helped. Plentiful car parking available on site (a rarity in Tenby!)

The staff in this hotel are efficient, helpful and welcoming. All areas of the hotel are impeccably clean, modern and bright. The bar area (Northcliff Lounge) is spacious and bar food and drink prices are not expensive based on hotel prices I have experienced elsewhere in the UK.

The board inclusive Breakfast served in the restaurant was excellent. Note that it is served in two sittings (8am to 9 or 9.15 to 10.15) with your preferred time choice made when you check in.

The twin room we had was spacious, clean and with modern furniture. Loads of clothes storage space.

The heated outdoor swimming pool was open during our stay in mid October which was a bonus.

The hotel is clear in its prospectus that it does not cater for mobility impaired guests or wheelchairs. This is not a fault of the hotel management but a function of the way the hotel was originally designed in its cliff side location. Shallow low rise stairs connect a lot of the public communal areas.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel if you visit Tenby, as the town centre is a short 10 minute stroll away.

This is a gorgeous hotel, in a fantastic location with amazing service BUT.... When booking please please call up and make sure your room is not 307 or 206. They are right next to the old lift, which sounds like a pneumatic drill until 11.30pm and with the hotel walls being so thin, even with eat plugs in its extremely loud.

With a toddler in the room we didn't get much sleep and felt very tired during the day- which spoilt our only family holiday of the entire year ☹️. The staff tried to move us but unfortunately the hotel was full. There are other reviews that say the same...I wish I would have read them before booking!

Advice for the hotel: I was advised these are already you're cheapest rooms, but you need to put on the adverts that the reason these are cheaper is because they are next to the lift. I would have paid more for a different room if I had known!!
