Lovely relaxing site. Stayed in Snowdrop lodge. Stylish, clean and a nice welcome starter pack/hamper, this was a wonderful place to stay. Mattresses were medium to soft, my husband did say he could feel the bedframe on his side though. Also I think the scatter cushions were feather filled, just mentioning it in case someone has allergies. On arrival, we had an easy check in. I checked lodge for snags which were reported and the next day someone came to sort. Nothing major but a damaged blind and a small crack inside the fridge were noted. What's also great is that most lodges are pet free so no dog smells at all ! There are some lodges that allow dogs though. Quiet site too for that reason as well as the request that 9pm to 8am is restricted noise time, which suited us. WIFI Code is given on arrival but our main TV changed channel on its own which was reported. The bedroom TVS were fine though but a secure TV signal is important when the site has a quiet period in the evening. Hot tub was immaculately kept and spotless. Really nice treat. Very windy though so some trees could help with the cross winds as it is quite exposed. A short walk from Heatherton too, with 10% discount. Ps Asda delivered to us on site on arrival, but state your lodge name as there is no number on lodges. Could be worth the lodges having a bigger name plaque as they are small to see, in the night particularly. Overall fab stay, would go again!

Just returned from a lovely weekend away staying in Florence Springs.

We stayed in Foxglove Lodge, immediate impressions were great. Check in was really quick and easy and then parked up outside the lodge which was lovely, very clean, a nice welcome pack with Milk, wine, jam and a couple of other little bits.

The lodge was spotless, three bedrooms, one en-suite with a lovely shower, one double, one twin, family bathroom and open plan living area. The hot tub was great, it stayed lovely and warm despite getting a good few hours use each evening, this was a really nice thing to come home to after spending the days out. The free WiFi in the lodge is good, it can be used to browse and stream films etc with no issue.

The only slight downside we had with the lodge was after coming back from a day out on the second day, there was a really strong sewage type smell in the lodge, we contacted the site personnel and they sent someone out really quickly, the staff member was really pleasant and cleaned the sink waste pipes out in the bathrooms. This seemed to help, but when we returned after being out again the next day the smell was back and seemed to be stronger and coming from the main bathroom. We didn't call again as it was quite late on the Sunday and we were checking out the next day. Pretty sure it's a blocked waste line somewhere, these things can happen and this doesn't reflect at all on the cleanliness of the lodge at all.

The site itself is really quiet, there is no club house or anything like that so it's very quiet in the evenings but we had two young kids with us so this was great. There is also no shop or anything on site so make sure you have everything you need to tide you over initially.

As for the location, Florence Springs is perfectly placed for family days out, we had the weekend there and we done Manor Park on the Saturday, this was a great day out and only a 5-10 min walk from Florence Springs. On the Sunday we went to the dinosaur park, again a great day out, we did take the car as although it's only a 2 minute drive the road is a bit too busy to walk along with young kids. We did go into St Florence as we had to pick up some essentials, it's only a 5 minute drive but is through some country lanes.

Overall, we really liked Florence Springs, it was a great location, the lodge was beautiful and we will almost certainly return in the future.

Once again a wonderful stay in a beautiful part of West Wales, they say luxury Lodges and they are not misleading, the accommodation is first class and provides everything you need for a relaxing enjoyable break. The whole site is immaculate, with grounds being looked after on a daily basis. The Hot Tubs are wonderful and are inspected daily to ensure that they are kept at optimum cleanliness and efficiency. Staff are friendly and helpful.

This is the perfect place to come and unwind in a beautiful tranquil environment, the wild life on the lake is a joy to watch, from the Geese to the Herons, plenty of things to do including complimentary pitch and putt, and if you want a bit more excitement f then Heatherton World of Adventure is a gentle stroll away through the grounds, and as a resident you get discount on any activity you wish to participate in. This is our second visit here and we are already planning our return.

Good points
Very spacious
Decorated and designed to a high standard
Amazing views
Staff of hand when needed
Brilliantly furnished
All essentials provided and lovely welcome pack
Was able to check in at 12pm

Bad points
Hygiene
Extractor fan in en-suite clogged with fluff and dust
Cobwebs in en-suite
Clock in hall with wrong time set
Mattresses gave us all bad backs
Taps for bath not secure
Food still on cutlery from previous guests
Unsightly wires hanging from back of tv in living room also causing a trip hazard
Dining table very sticky
Dirt on kitchen floor had to rehoover
Dust on back of tvs was disgusting. Hopefully the cleaner sees the clean me message.

Tv changes channel by itself

No key for patio door messaged and someone was available straight away which was great, said we were going shopping was expecting the key to be placed in the key safety box, but on return the patio door had been unlocked and the key placed inside the door and shut but leaving the lodge unlocked with all our belongings inside. Was not happy about this at all.

The hot tub lights would not work was told the bulb had gone and if we wanted the lights would have to have the hot tub drained, fixed and wait 24 hours before we could use it again.

We just went without the lights which was a massive let down for our disabled son who loves the sensory input from hot lights.

The walls around the lodge were scuffed and dirty too.

On first impressions it defo gives the wow factor. Upon closer inspection it really wasn’t the case.

Paid just over £1200 for 4 nights. Expected better.

Response from Charles Davies, General Manager at Florence Springs Lakeside Lodges
Responded 26 Jan 2024
Hi Hannah, We are so sorry to hear that your stay in our Snowdrop Lodge didn't quite meet your expectations. We are grateful for the positive feedback you have given though, including the 4 hour early check-in we were able to give on that day for our Christmas check-ins. All our cleaning is done by a contracted cleaning company who are normally fantastic. We have passed your comments about the cleaning onto them so they can take the appropriate action. We can only apologise on their behalf for anything that you felt had been missed. The wire from the back of the TV was going to a DVD player that we had placed in for customers to use over the Christmas period. We didn't feel this was a trip hazard, but we'll certainly review the situation. We also apologise for any miscommunication meaning the patio door was left unlocked. We keep a stock of mattresses and mattress toppers on hand as although we try and strike a happy medium, different people have different preferences of firmness. Had you let us know during your 4-night stay, we would have been happy to rectify this for you. The brand of hot tub that we use is the most used brand for holiday accommodation in the UK, however, there is a fault on them that means sometimes the bulbs go. To change the bulbs is actually quite a large operate which entails the whole hot tub being lifted out of the decking, and is often not worthwhile doing during a stay as it disturbs the enjoyment of the hot tub, and there are already several lights outside on the decking. We try our utmost to keep our lodges in tiptop condition, but being so frequently used, they do receive small damages and scuffs to the walls. Our lodges are routinely scheduled off to complete any fixes and redecoration, but it is impossible to keep them all looking brand new all the time. Our pricing is set by Hoseasons, and was such because it was a Christmas stay. Pricing does vary largely depending on what time of year you choose to book. We thank you for your overall feedback, as without such we can't continue to improve and upgrade what we offer to guests. We do hope that you would consider coming to us again. Kindest Regards, Florence Springs

Lovely site and lodge was well laid out space wise.
Sofas, table and chairs etc all comfy. Good T.V etc.
Good welcome pack.
Bathrooms clean and good showers.
Decking furniture was functional but not great quality chairs.

General Cleaning was ok but as happens, there were some cutlery and dishes not clean enough, plus food residue on chopping board and by taps. The floor had to be swept immediately as there was a lot of grains of sand underfoot. (Shoe removal is a rule so we all had sand on our feet even though we hadn’t been to beach). There was also visible gathering of sand at bottom of hot tub 😬. Not that difficult to remove given check out is 10 and check in is 4. Btw don’t arrive early. They will not open door for check in one second before 4. Did amuse me that the guy asked us not to overwhelm the check in girl as she was on her own and obviously/predictably, multi families arrived for 4pm checkin. Have more staff ready perhaps?

Definitely a peaceful location so taking a toddler was probably not a good idea. However, she slept during the ‘quiet’ hours so we were ok.

For me, biggest disappointment was the terrible quality of beds (mattresses ) and bedding. You could feel the springs just from pressing with hands. The mattress I slept on had a huge indentation on one side - clearly a heavier person/s had lay there. Not worth raising for a 3 night stay but what a shame. Bedding was also poor quality. No pillow protectors but as the pillows were so bad, I assume they may be replaced for each stay? They were those cheap supermarket style.

Given it was just short of £900 for 3 nights, I expected better quality for a good night sleep. I appreciate there are lots of good reviews which is great. The beds and bedding would stop our return.

This is the second visit to this lodge park, the first one being in October 2020…I would love to say it was as good as our first visit, but unfortunately the lodge (bluebell ) wasn’t on the same par as previous! The park is positioned perfectly for surrounding Tenby and Saundersfoot and it is a peaceful and well kept park. The lodge is in a lovely position overlooking the golf course with a nice veranda to sit on. There were a couple of let downs with the lodge, firstly it wasn’t as clean as it should of been, floors, window ledges and cobwebs on ceiling. The hot tub had sand in and to be frank this is the first dirty hot tub I’ve had in 10 years with Hoseasons ! It also had seen better days and didn’t function as well as most ( lacked jet power). The kitchen was poorly equipped lacking basic equipment ie sharp knife, no bread knife, egg cups and a cafetière to name a few. Lastly on the negative side the master bedroom and twin room mattresses were awful, and this meant poor sleep a good quality mattress is essential in a so called luxury lodge which also lacked robes and sleepers…this is another first for me. I would still recommend Florence Springs and return in the future , but not to this lodge. I hope the issues with this lodge are addressed and improved. Over all we had a pleasant stay but it could of been excellent if changes were made. Tenby is a wonderful place to visit and hope to return in the future.

Just returned from 5 day stay in the Camellia lodge . Good points :Very clean, tidy and reasonably well equipped. Plenty of storage space and cupboards . Comfortable bed and good showers. Very good view but recently planted trees will obscure this view in the future .
Nice layout and close to Tenby and Saundersfoot . Heatherton adventure park and wildlife park very close if you have children .
Not so good points : Not enough hooks on doors etc to hang bath robes apart from heated towel rail. Odd tins of paint left in shoe cupboard inside front door . Nowhere to hang towels outside whilst in hot tub ( more so when windy or furniture is wet . Not sure where the owners want you to put wet clothing out to dry as it clearly states not to use indoor areas or use a clothes line outside ???
Welcome pack contained milk, bottle of wine , two bottles of water, tea/ coffee / sugar , dishwasher tablets, washing tablets, shower gel and shampoo. Bit disappointed to be honest as we have had 10 or so lodge holidays in last 3-4 years and all of them class shampoo/ dishwasher tablets / tea and coffee as standard items in lodge . We can honestly say that all of our previous lodges were far more generous and the welcome packs included mostly of some of these items : bread, eggs, biscuits, chocolates, crisps , jams, marsh mallows, butter, sweets and even fruit. However this didn’t spoil our enjoyment as we would return .

We didn't get to go! Booked this holiday at the beginning of the year through Hoseasons who we book with every year to go to Bath but fancied a change of area. We are a group of 8 women (ages 35-51) who go away every year with no trouble or issue. At the time of booking we saw that the holiday park does not accept same sex bookings, so we contacted Hoseasons at time of booking who said it would be fine as they've never had any issues with us.

On Saturday (under a week to go) we were told by the Holiday park that as we were a same sex group of 8 (6 would have been accepted) they would no longer agree to take our booking unless upon arrival, each one of us paid £100 cash deposit each which would be returned on the Sunday as long as there were no complaints or damage. We agreed to pay the £800 cash (please bear in mind we only paid £480 for the holiday) to show we wouldn't be a problem and this was agreed. Then this morning (Monday), with 3 days to go, they go back on their terms that we agreed to and cancelled our booking leaving us with no accommodation despite us agreeing to hand over £800 cash which was their idea and the staff member telling us they weren't busy this weekend.

Absolutely abysmal customer service (and attitude) and we would know, all 8 of us are ex Travel Agents! So unless you want to risk losing your holiday with 3 days to go, avoid like the plague!

Response from Simon Hilling, General Manager at Florence Springs Lakeside Lodges
Responded 9 Nov 2023
Dear Natalie P. We’re so sorry this rare, unfortunate situation has arisen – it isn’t one we ever thought we’d find ourselves in. Our policy has always been that we don’t accept single sex groups here at Florence Springs, to maintain the peaceful, family-orientated nature of our rural site. This is made very clear at the booking stage where we explicitly ask the user to select the type of party you are booking for. Daisy Lodge also only accepts a maximum of 6 adults (which this booking was made for), but it transpired later that 8 adults would have been coming. Cancelling the booking wasn’t a decision made lightly but, after our various exchanges, we felt we it was the best one in this instance. Again, we’re very sorry this rare situation has arisen but we do hope you’ve managed to find suitable accommodation for your break.

Lovely hot tub, but rather disappointed with the Pine lodge. Stains over alot of the walls, some were make up stains which should've been removed. Stains on carpets, squeeky bathroom door and door in master bedroom wouldn't shut. Cracked tiles in ensuite bathroom. Some plates were dirty from previous occupiers. Floor in lounge area hadn't been moped. Windows in bedrooms were large, so couldn't leave them open over night for safety reasons. Woken up at 5am with vans going past. For the amount of money we paid for the week, we expected the lodge to be in a better standard of care. The highlight was the hot tub which kept my daughter happy. Florence Springs are quick to take your money but don't seem bothered about the state this lodge was in.
