Stayed two nights at this hotel, the location is ideal walking distance to everything. Dogs welcome and part of South beach is dog friendly during peak season, free wifi, access to front terrace bar and rear beer garden. Both are restricted to residents only after 8pm.

The room was spotless and also the Covid procedures are adhered to, one way entry and exit system.

Check-in is at at 3pm, parking within walking distance is £7 for 24hrs, we moved the car for the second night as it was a Sunday and found a free space on the side of the road.

Do check regarding street parking with the hotel or if you see a traffic warden or even the helpful young team of WelcomeTenby council staff (they wear pink tabards) before you leave your car.

Great stay, highly recommend.

The main reason for booking this hotel (for us) is its great location, on the esplanade overlooking the South Beach, and it is dog friendly! Overall we were reasonbly happy with our stay (we were there for 10 nights)

My daughter and I, and our dog, had booked a family room. It overlooked the road at the side of the hotel. The size of the room was not bad (I would say typical for this age of hotel) It was clean, nice clean bedding, the water was hot and the WIFI worked. Due to COVID restriction the maid couldn't come in, but she knocked on the door each day and emptied the waste bin, and gave us new towels, coffee, sugar etc.

There were some irritants: the handles on the windows were broken, making it difficult to open them; there was scaffolding outside the window (which was taken down during our stay); the light above my daughter's bed was broken (there was no string to switch on the light); and there was not enough storage to unpack our suitcases.

For the last 2 days, we had to do a room change (we knew in advance that we would have to do this). The new family room overlooked the garden and was much better, bigger and without the problems described above. If we has stayed in this room for all our stay, I would have scored it at 4 stars.

The corriders are definitely shabby, as is the pub on the ground floor (open to the public until 7pm) We avoided it. The dining room had a canteen feel - seats were pre-allocated to the numerous coach parties We didn't eat in there (luckily I did not pre-book breakfast) and we went into town for breakfast which I can recommend doing.

We stayed at Clarence House at the end of July and were relatively pleased with our experience. The outdoor patio overlooking the beach was certainly the highlight, however the staff and bedroom quality let the hotel down. Sadly, the receptionist was sharp and disinterested upon arrival which made us feel unwelcome. Our room on the third floor was very small and dated. The wash facilities were in the bedroom and the shower and toilet were squeezed into the space of a wardrobe. The room smelt damp and the paintwork needed attention. Sound proofing was also poor and hot water non-existent. Thankfully our view was beautiful which softened the blow slightly... Would consider returning if the hotel was refurbished.

I have just come back from a 3 night stay at this seafront hotel. Before going there I rang to check our room allocation. I was told my wife and I would be in a 4th floor room with no sea view which was small. I requested a bigger room and was informed I could be moved to a room on the 1st floor which was bigger but would cost an additional £56 for our stay which I agreed.
Well, I am not sure how big the room on the 4th floor was but room 112, for 2 adults, was very small. It is safe to say that the Cat Swingers Society would not be holding any conventions here in the near future.
The shower was, to be honest, the smallest I have ever encountered in a hotel. It was impossible to move around in there and if you dropped the soap that was it, you could not bend down to pick it up. I also found that I had to reverse out of the cubicle before scrambling around to find my small, coarse feel towel.
The furnishings were drab, tired and perfunctory at best.
The staff were polite and the place was clean (though the young men urinating at the side of the entrance to the hotel on Friday night at around 11.00pm did not endear themselves to either myself nor my wife who gave them a piece of her mind - this was not the hotel’s fault and it was unfortunate that we had to encounter such an event).
Anyway, given my attempt to ensure our room was, roomy, and the additional expense that entailed, I was extremely disappointed with what we were given.

Couldn't fault this place! From the very friendly welcome to the comfortable bed. As others have commented the decor is dated but we found the hotel spotlessly clean. Our room was on the small side, but worth it for the view. The beer gardens to the front and rear were very welcome given the current climate, both very beautiful areas to sit and enjoy. We stopped in the premier inn the night before and for welcome, comfort, views and cleanliness this hotel was hands down far superior. Hand gel is available throughout the hotel and social distancing measures are well indicated with great attention to detail. We will be back.

There is a one way system in the hotel to help social distancing, you go up the one lift and walk down the stairs. Really good intentions but this is tricky when you have cases. We booked a double room, which we now know was very small compared to other rooms (after walking past empty rooms whilst they were cleaned?).

When we got to the room we saw we had been left with dirty cups, the receptionist was apologetic and offered to replace them, but it took some kajoling for her to take the clean cups to our room and check that the room was OK, because of the cups were mucky what else could be?

The room had a small window and a small table for tea and coffees. Unfortunately this is where the positives end. The bed was soft, lumpy, springs dug into your back and the left hand side of the bed sagged dramatically. The bathroom was seperated from the room by a plastic corrugated door that did not really close. It made the room look cheap, when in practicality it wasn't. We did not go to the outside bar overlooking the sea, but I can see it being a really good idea. When arriving to Tenby we phoned to ask a nearby car park a rip is park at the seafront car park (the receptionist called it something else) instead of the arches if you are staying for a few days, it is cheaper and you don't need to repay every 24 hours.

Got here mon 6th, arrived 6pm, hoping to eat at the hotel ? No sorry, the receptionist told us we have 3 coach parties at the hotel, OK we'll eat out, but booked breakfast, what time we asked 9am were told, from when we asked, 9 am to 9.20, of course seemed odd. The first 3 restaurants we tried told sorry fully full, eventually found somewhere and paid £40 for fish and chips and two pints of beer. Next morning were up early and thought breakfast surely is 7 to 9 we must of misheard, so we're down there at 8, no were told sorry no breakfast till 9 again it's the coach parties taking preference with early allotted times to fit in with they're day trips, so we hangs around for an hour, diabolical. We had a twin room on the 4th floor which we paid £530 for, i will say clean and tidy but very small and i mean small, looked like it's been the servants quarters in days gone by. I have to say everyone at the hotel is pleasant, its in a good location close to beach and amenities. As for the town itself very expensive to eat out here, don't come to tenby if you want a cheap week it ain't happening.

We booked a room with a sea view here for 2 nights and we were very satisfied. The hotel is set away from a stunning beach, which also included a small terrace to sit at during the morning into the evening to enjoy a refreshmentwhilst admiring the stunning view.
Our room was very basic, but it had everything we needed for the two nights. The bed was huge, this was brilliant for us as it was quite warm at night.
We took our dog with us too, which they were very welcoming of, it was his first time away and all the staff approached him with a smile.
There is also a lovely little beer garden at the rear of the hotel which was friendly and ideal if you just want to relax with a drink.
Even though our visit was during COVID, they had all of the safety procedures set up and we felt very safe.
However, because of this, there wasn’t any breakfast service included in our price and stay. They were however, offering you the opportunity to buy breakfast rolls on the Sunday morning but I felt at £4 a roll this was a little overpriced, especially when we had paid a good amount for our stay. However, this wouldn’t put us off leaving a good review because besides that, we couldn’t fault our stay and we would definitely return.
Highly recommended.
Thank you!

My mum and dad and my grandparents stayed here on the new year package. My grandparents being in thier 80's had a problem using thier bedroom. They reported it to reception who moved them to another room with a wet room in it nothing was to much trouble. We would like to say a big thank you to the reception and housekeeping staff. Mum and dad enjoyed the stay the food was excellent and all staff went the extra mile to make our stay very enjoyable. Once again a big thank you and hope to see you again in the future

Lack of waiting staff over 45 minutes wait for breakfast! Couldn’t have cereal and grapefruit and or orange juice inspite of paying 150£ per night per double room!. Packed like sardines in restaurant with 3 coaches until asked to be moved to vacant table!
Apart from that excellent location beach front, room with sea view 😆 nice clean bedding and towels and happy hours at bar. Lift working well.

There was certainly no fridge in my room( no space even for a tiny one) and I doubt very much by the standard of that if any of the other rooms would be equipped with fridges
