Detailed Reviews
Based on a 4 night stay with family, two rooms booked in advance.
Firstly, I will start with the booking process. We originally made our enquiry direct with the hotel and due to Welsh government COVID-19 restrictions at the time, the hotel wasn't able to open. They did however take details of our requirements and make prospective booking pending the relevant laws changing. Once able to take formal bookings, I was emailed by the reception team requesting confirmation and deposit. When I called they were very friendly and efficient. They helped with our particular requirements (as my wife was heavily pregnant and we also had my mother in law staying in a separate room). My wife and I were allocated a superior double with sea view on the ground floor (31) to remove the need for using too many stairs etc. Mother in law had a small double with sea view on the 1st floor (18).
The hotel has private parking, and this is available on a first come first serve basis for a very reasonable £5 per 24hrs. The spaces are bollarded and therefore yours for the duration of the stay, making it a very valuable extra.
Check in was efficient and covid secure. Temperatures taken on arrival and all info provided along with sanitised keys, in an envelope to reduce contact time in reception area. We were also asked to pay in full upon arrival to reduce the mad rush at check out. It was possible to charge food and drinks to your room.
Rooms were clean and tidy and well presented. Our bed was very comfortable. This room (31) is on street level and there are blinds for privacy as well as curtains. But you should consider this if you wish more privacy or are sensitive to light etc. The first floor room (18) was quite small but ideal for single occupation and actually had a stunning sea view.
Due to covid restrictions there is no restaurant or pool/Spa facilities available at the hotel and this was clearly communicated prior to booking. There is still a very good breakfast offering, with something for every taste. The hotel has a lovely cliff top private garden across the street, in which you can take refreshments or just sit and relax. The front of house staff visit frequently to clear tables and will happily bring sandwiches and drinks over to you. At this point I would like to make a special mention to Trys who was extremely attentive and took great care of us during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and he appeared to be genuinely enjoying his work. In the breakfast room I'd like to thank Robin and Carole in particular for their kind and attentive service. All staff were kind and helpful but those named deserved a special mention as they really are a credit to the hotel and help it to feel like a home from home.
We would definitely stay here again.

A real gem of a hotel on the front with its own garden just across the road from the hotel with views across the sea.
The hotel is spotlessly clean and we felt very safe in the current climate.
The room was spacious with a very very comfy bed.
Car park for guests is really good with a £5 charge per night.
Staff were all very friendly and pleasant.
Breakfast is a buffet but with COVID you complete a form and staff bring the food to you which was well organised. The food was very nice.

We booked five nights at the Atlantic Hotel, our adapted room was number 6. The room is on the ground floor close to the rear entrance to the hotel, the entrance is on level ground. There is a £5 a night charge for car parking. The hotel sent me a list of places to eat in Tenby, because the restaurant attached to the hotel has closed. I made use of the list to try and book tables for evening meals. This was harder than it sounds as a lot didn’t answer the phone while the ones who picked up said they weren’t taking booking and was open only for “walk ins”. We did mange to get a table for the first night at the next door hotel The Giltar.
The reception staff are really helpful. Our room was ideal, with a double and a single bed, there is also a security safe free to use. The only complaint was the television is on the small side for the room. Breakfast is ordered on slips of paper, with items being quickly delivered to attached table. The staff are more than helpful and a great credit to the hotel.
There is a private garden across the road from the hotel. The gardener keeps this area to a very high standard. The garden overlooks the beach below, drinks are again delivered to the table. The bar man Rubin was very helpful and friendly as were all the staff.
Thank you for your help

Atlantic is a nice friendly comfortable hotel, well-fitted , very clean and maintained carefully but in a bit of an 80's time warp. Everything seems in good condition and nothing is worn, it's just all fussy details and some of the decor looks like it came from TK MAXX.
At the front the rooms are large and spacious, however most of the rooms are in two modern extensions at the rear, where they seem to have squeezed in as many rooms as possible by making them all very tight boxes. In the shower I often find myself punching the ceiling when I'm washing or drying my hair (I'm barely six feet tall) and it's odd sitting on a toilet that's so close to things on either side. It's fine for short stays, mostly out enjoying locale anyway.

Sometimes important information or actions should be here even if because of those actions or information other travellers should be aware. Recently I booked three days over four weeks in advance and paid a non refundable deposit of £50. Just two days later unexpected circumstances forced me to cancel and although I accepted the deposit rules requested a refund. It was refused. I explained that it is almost certain my accommodation will be sold and so to keep £50 is sharp practice. They insisted. So beware prospective visitors.

I stayed here for two nights and had a wonderful experience. I have to especially commend the front desk representative, Angie. She went above and beyond to make sure my stay was perfect. My stay was during the heatwave week in July and my room was extremely hot. She allowed me to switch to a different room that had a bit more of a breeze and also arranged for a fan that was waiting for me in my room the next day.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable and looked as if newly refurbished.
The breakfast was delicious.
I had a fantastic experience overall and thought the customer service was top-notch. I hope I get a chance to come back to Tenby in the future.

Hotel is in a great location for stunning views of the beach and sea and also nicely positioned for Tenby town itself. Hotel is kept immaculately clean and the staff are so friendly and very professional in everything they do, right down to the very tiniest detail – I couldn’t praise them highly enough . You would be hard pressed to find any better. Rooms are well kept and although ours was one of the smaller and compact rooms, with no settee to sit on, we had an amazing sea view. Bathroom was spotless and spacious. Shower, although not particularly powerful was more than adequate. Hot water was constant in both shower & bath.
Breakfast was great with plenty of selection, and staff on duty at breakfast were an absolute credit to the hotel. The room used for breakfast was very spacious and comfortable, which I liked.
Just 2 very minor negatives, in which one is probably out of the control of the hotel and the other which maybe just down to my personal taste. Car parking is on a first come first served basis. Alternative parking is in a public car park about 5 to 10 minute’s walk away at £10 for 24 hours. The bar (which only has Carling or Worthington on draught ) reminded me of someone’s living room rather than a bar. It just lacked any atmosphere and the TV on the wall showing daytime TV probably didn’t help me there either. There are nice gardens across the road where you can take your drink but seating there is somewhat limited.
Would highly recommend this hotel. It is one of the most popular in Tenby and I can see why.

The Atlantic hotel is in a excellent location and offers a stunning sea view room (well many in fact) with views across south beach onto Caldey island.
The room we stayed in was very well kept clean and tidy with very comfy beds for a great night sleep.
The facilities in the hotel were great as well from the biscuits offered with tea making facilities in the room to the swimming pool lounge area and bar.
The dinning room is a good size so you are not sat on top of everyone and staff are helpful and friendly and can not do enough for you. The food is a buffet style breakfast well recommended, there is also a selection of fruit, Cereal and pastry for those who don't wish to buffet style breakfast.
Will be staying again

We have just enjoyed a very relaxing three night break at this lovely hotel. The staff were charming and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We were in a large sea front room with a balcony and magnificent views over the ocean to Caldy Island. This was particularly good on a very wet and windy day when we could carry on enjoying the view and the passing parade. We also made good use of their secluded sun terrace across the road where you can have lunch or a drink. The hotel had very strict Covid measures in place and we felt totally safe at all times. So useful to have private parking just round the corner at only£5 a day. We would definitely return.

My husband and stayed here this week. It was very quiet as it was Monday when the firebreak lockdown had just ended. We had a sea view room which was brilliant and so lovely to be able to watch the sea at anytime of the day. The room was very clean, bright and comfy with everything we needed. The hotel is central to everything. Right on the seafront and the town just round the corner. The staff were welcoming and friendly and very helpful. The catering manager was lovely very chatty and helpful. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice.
I really recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again next time we’re back in Tenby.
