Stayed here for 2 nights and would definitely go back. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming, room (9) was clean and tidy and plenty of space for us. Strong Wi-Fi signal. Breakfast in the current Covid restrictions was continental/porridge/toast/rolls and was lovely, along with tea/coffee and juice. Everything was set out well in regards to social distancing with plenty of sanitizer and a one way system in place. Only about 5 minutes walk from town and the multi storey car park as there's no parking here. We paid £6 for 72 hrs. Lovely stay.. Thank you ☺️👍

Where do I start!,, After reading some good reviews and some bad reviews we thought we would book a couple of days at The Albany Hotel. No vacancies anywhere else due to the beautiful weather. Never ever have we seen such a shabby hotel. Apart from a good size room and location . Reading over the last few years with similar comments, Decorating and jobs were going to be done when hotel was in low season. The photos tell the story. What more can we say 😮 No point complaining as all pre paid. Mouldy bathroom, smelling of damp. Loose radiator cover. No coat hangers. No wardrobe, Only rail above kettle Wall paper overlapped and coming away Mould around bottom of window which was sealed. Filler in bathroom door still wet. Dirty carpets. No curtain rail as such Loose wires from tv Room no 6 REFUND PLEASE

Hi Thank you for leaving this review following your recent stay with us and sincere apologies as it appears that the hotel did not meet with your expectations and particularly sorry if the cleanliness was not to our usual standard. Firstly if the room was as bad as you are saying it was (particularly mouldy and damp) then the first thing I would have done was come down to Reception to immediately complain - we would have then either moved you into another room or carried out any further cleaning etc that you/we felt was necessary. The room which as you say is a good size has very recently had the feature wall repapered and the room repainted, new Television and new mattress and the radiator cover is also newly installed and was not aware of it being loose. The filler in the bathroom door was due to damage caused the night before and it was temporarily repaired. There is a wardrobe in the room with a chest of drawers and covered by a curtain. The tea/Coffee tray sits on the chest of drawers but there are other sockets available so that you do not have to boil your kettle where there are clothes... The carpets are not dirty and were in fact professionally cleaned prior to our reopening on July 17th. The window opens fully on the right hand side and apologies if there was any sign of damp around the frame. There is a curtain rail - from which the curtain hangs.. There are no loose wires but they may be trailing wires as these are waiting to be 'trunked' in with the Television being newly installed If you had spent the time taken in photographing your room by talking to us then we may have been able to make your stay a more pleasurable one. Once again apologies for any shortcomings regarding cleanliness which I will further look into but we are happy with the facilities and service that we offer and disappointing that you felt that you couldn't speak to us but happy to speak to many others via this review. We work very hard and do not set out to disappoint any of our guests however we do know that we cannot please everyone. Kind Regards Richard

Really easy to find. The local is perfect, literally just across from the harbour. We parked in the School playground but Richard soon told us of a better parking spot for £3. Staff all friendly. The hotel is very large and an old building, the room was ok for a short break. We had a good size bathroom and the water was hot which sometime you don't always get in hotels. One way system with the stairs. Breakfast is served to your room and on the time you request. The bar and restaurant were closed due to Covid which is highly understandable. The only thing i'd criticise and it wasn't that much of a problem and that is the bed was a bit flat apart from that it was everything described. Would stay again.

Stayed for a long weekend. Room was very small, bruised knees from hitting bed post everytime I went to bathroom. Very small bathroom space with very challenging shower. Shower head cant cope with water pressure so water goes everywhere soaking the room. Was very disappointed that we did not know bar and facilities would not be available as not mentioned on website pre travel. Hotel was booked for this reason. Also breakfast was served in room which was not a pleasant experience, asked for plate at least which was provided. Although hotel had been closed during covid and only reopened few weeks prior to stay it didnt look or feel like the rooms were deep cleaned. I know only 2 star and budget hotel but I had to wash out kettle, which if you want to make a cuppa I had to move kettle to bed side unit as plug/cable didnt reach in placed position. Also carpet had bits on it like bits of wrapper and generally looked unclean, they very kindly hovered when requested.so glad I packed flip flops to walk around room in.Bath I rinsed around as a few lingering hairs found and The clothes cupboard smelt quite musty too. Overall ok stay, yes in need of modern uplift and reconfiguration of rooms maybe as my particular room was way too small as a double, hosts accommodating.

Hi Thank you for your constructive review following your recent 3 night stay. Firstly we were pleased to read that you found all the staff accommodating and that our 2 star hotel was fairly priced. Thank you for also bringing these points mentioned to our attention during your stay so that we could assist you with the shower, explain why we had to implement our restrictions and re hoover the room and supply you with plates. Sorry that you were disappointed that the bar and Restaurant were not open but we do state on our website and Booking.com that the bar is closed. We have done what we think is the best thing with Breakfast which has generally been met positively but I do understand guests frustration, but unfortunately due to Covid we can only accommodate 5 socially distanced tables and have 50 guests so it is not practical or safe to do this. All rooms are thoroughly cleaned prior to all guests arrival and sincere apologies if you felt this was not the case or if anything at been overlooked by us. The room you were allocated is our smallest Double Room and our rooms do vary quite significantly due to the age and layout of the building so if considering staying again please call me and I will arrange a larger room for you. Once again thank you for your feedback and pleased that you enjoyed your long weekend with your friends. Kind Regards Richard

Stayed here earlier this month as a weekend trip to Tenby, where we go at least once a year, probably more on average! First time we've stayed at the Albany hotel, I assume the OYO chain have just bought the hotel and not bothered doing anything to it as everything in our particular room was so dated and falling apart. Toilet didn't work, had to makeshift with the bin from the room to flush it! Wallpaper hanging off, missing tiles in bathroom, dodgy bath sealing etc. We were in a triple room, the TV was on the wall next to the double bed, so had to go sit on the other single bed in the room to be able to see it, which I thought was an odd decision. The breakfast bap was average and cheap, they did deliver at a specific time though which was good. Staff were friendly but rarely to be seen, no one present on check in just a number to call. The hotel location is great, very centrally located which is another plus point. Overall the hotel has good credentials to be a decent hotel.... just needs a big renovation!

Hi Thank you for taking the time in writing this 3 star review following your stay earlier in the month. Really pleased to see that you thought our location is great and sorry that some areas of our 2 star hotel did not meet with your expectations. With regards to the hotel it is our family run hotel and OYO work in partnership with us managing the accommodation bookings. The hotel is dated in fact almost 200 years old but we work hard to maintain the decoration and furnishings within to the best of our ability and it has been tougher this year without any income to talk of until we were able to open on July 17th 2020 due to Covid 19. Some of the work that we need to do also would mean us having to take rooms 'off' which at this time is not viable due to it being such a short season, but we have priced ourselves very competitively to reflect this. The toilet in the room does work so unsure why you had to take these measures...the TV in the bedroom is on a swivel bracket and can be turned to face either the single bed, double bed or centrally for all to watch. Breakfast was a choice of porridge, croissants, yoghurts, fruit juice, tea/coffee sachets and hot bacon, sausage or vegetarian baps and I can assure you that the ingredients are not cheap and come from a local butchers in Narberth. Glad to see that you found us to be friendly and welcoming and due to the pandemic we are not always at the desk for our own safety but have a contact number and are available 24/7. Once again thank you for your valued feedback. Kind Regards Richard

We arrived early to find nobody manning the desk. There was a contact number that we used and as we had nothing valuable in our bags we left them behind a sofa near reception. When we returned the check in process was very quick. The room was quite acceptable and decent value for money. Would have no problem staying there again.

Richard and Lisa were incredibly accommodating and friendly, when we rang up beforehand because we needed to change our room Richard was very happy to help. Room was spacious and clean and the covid friendly breakfast option was excellent. Would stay again. Some of these reviews must have been expecting a 5 star hotel like the ritz. The building is old yes, but they do not affect your stay, and I know from experience that Richard would be more than happy to help if you need it. Keep doing a great job Richard and Lisa!

Hi Thank you for your 5 star review following your recent stay. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and thought that our Covid Friendly room service breakfast was excellent. It is difficult for us at this current time not being able to offer our guests use of our full facilities but government guidance and most importantly guest safety are our number 1 priority. As you rightly say we are more than happy to help if at all possible. Once again thank you for your review and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Kind Regards Richard

My partner and I spent one night here in August. We were not informed before arrival that we wouldn't be able to leave our cases here before check in- apparently suitcases spread Covid now?- so had to lug our luggage back to the multi storey car park. The bed was comfy but we only had one flat pillow each. There was a heated towel rail in the bathroom which wouldn't turn off - not ideal for a sweaty summer stay and led to frequent burns when using the loo. I found an old apple core behind the drawers while trying to locate a plug. No complaints about the breakfast and staff were generally friendly.

Hi Thank you for your review following your 1 night stay last night. It is our general policy not to take luggage in ahead of guests arrival for several reasons - the main one being that we only have a small Reception area and nowhere secure for guests to leave them. If all 23 rooms wanted to leave luggage hours before check in..... it would also mean us potentially having to handle them to move them etc which is a contact risk. Check in is advertised from 2pm so if it was your intention to arrive earlier we could have explained this to you. With regards to the bed we are pleased you found it comfortable as it has a new mattress fitted only this week and with regards to the pillows there were 2 spare pillows in the wardrobe area along with the spare towels. The towel rail can be controlled and I could have rectified this for you on request. I was shocked to say that you found an apple core on the floor as I had personally hoovered and checked the room so apologies for that oversight. Pleased that you enjoyed Breakfast and found us to be friendly hosts but surprised that you did not find us value for money at £68 B&B during August in Tenby. Kind Regards Richard
