Loved the hotel ! The robot maid was really good the kids loved it . The staff were very friendly and helpful , the underground car park was good and safe . Great hotel very clean good location good food ! I just wish it was dog friendly! We would go all the time if it was 🐶
We visited this lovely hotel, as a party of 3 people, for a weekend break in Southport just 4 days after the second Covid19 lockdown ended. The hotel was spotlessly clean and procedures were in place to keep everyone safe. This was all expertly managed and all the hotel stafff we met were friendly, helpful and professional. We had booked 2 rooms for our visit and they were both a good size with excellent views and very well equipped. The breakfast was very good on the first morning but a little disappointing on the second morning. However, I am certain this is a tricky area to manage safely during the current circumstances and the staff were clearly doing their best. There is secure parking available under the hotel but you need to be aware this is shared with the nearby casino. I managed to unwittingly take a casino ticket from the car park entrance and subsequently had a little difficulty exiting the car park when we checked out. This was resolved by the hotel receptionist (thank you!) and I hope I wont receive an unexpected bill for parking from the casino! We would all visit this hotel again.…
I booked this hotel for my boyfriend’s 30th birthday in December 2020 and couldn’t recommend it enough. The staff were so helpful. We had to re-arrange due to lockdown and not only did they honour the price, they gave us an upgraded room on arrival and even sent the robot up with extra coffee pods for us. The room was lovely, it had contemporary furnishings, a nice bath, a huge comfy bed and a beautiful view over the lake. The location is spot on, right next to the pier and a 5 minute walk to bars and restaurants. Breakfast the next morning was really enjoyable, even with Covid restrictions. Overall, we had a brilliant time and would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a nice night away for a fair price.
Arrived there a wet afternoon looking forward to a nice break with an evening meal included in the price .We arrived and straight away was informed that we are in a tier 3 area and you cant do this or that and you have to not mix with other tables. It would have been more better if advised and not told .Room was good with a view but with plastic flowers and sticky side tables to enhance the room ....Other than that room was okay and looked forward to the evening meal . The evening meal was disappointing to say the least .A Vurger (vegetable burger ) that was more like a pate from subway with no taste but earthy and bland and not grilled or crispy and the the other burger in batter but very greasy .The Vurger I had to leave so that is not a good option ,The starter was good and the service from the staff I cannot fault so it was mainly the food in the evening Breakfast well if you like luke warm food and cold plate then you are onto a winner .Service was poor Toast served separately before the main and no choice ,It was either Full English or continental . I opted for vegetarian ad when it arrived it was missing the sausages to which i was informed oh they will be separate as they had not finished cooking them and they will bring them to me . Did I get them,,,, NO so by the time i would have got them the lukewarm food would have been cold and so not impressed at all .Service was poor and only good thing was the coffee as was hot .Never asked if we wanted any more toast ect ,Parking is £10 but i would park in the car park next to the hotel ,, cheaper I understand the situation of covid ect but felt that the overall visit was a let done on the food side and has put me off going back It looks good on the oustide and the rooms are okay but food mmmm needs to look at it .Maybe re the times but a little extra service on the food side would have enhanced the stay…
Myself and my wife stayed here for one night. The hotel is marketed as a four star however you expect a level of quality for a hotel at this level which in my opinion at the time we were there the hotel does not have. For me, the rooms are more of a standard you would get at a Premier Inn. We got to our room following check - in, and the air conditioning was not working, and with the window being in the direction of sun it felt like an oven. In addition, there were dead insects on the windowsill and dust on the furniture as well as coffee stains on the table indicating the room had not been cleaned very well. We called several times on the phone to reception however received no answer, so we went down to reception and discussed the issue where they advised there was an issue with the AC (why they failed to tell us this when we checked - in I have no idea) and that it would not be fixed until the next day. They offered to move us to another room where they said the AC should be working however the TV was not (and this is supposed to be a four star hotel). The AC did work in the second room however was not very good, additionally I found a piece of broken plastic in the bed which I gave to reception which I assume they would have done nothing about. When we first checked into the hotel, as we were early I had to put our luggage in a store room by the reception as our room was not ready and I saw on the shelf a number of dental kits. When we came back to the hotel later that night I asked if there was one available and the receptionist told me they didn't have such a thing (???) - I thought at that point I had seen it all. So not only could this four star hotel not provide us with working AC or a TV, we were not worthy of a dental kit either. If there were any positives, the outside bar area was very nice and we enjoyed a drink there before going out, and also the cooked breakfast in the morning was very good. I doubt very much we will be returning.…
