#11 of 43 B&Bs / Inns in Southport
A friendly, family run establishment ideally located close to Southport's famous Lord Street, Promenade and Southport's Theatre and Conference Centre. Whether you are here for business or pleasure, you are assured of a very warm welcome and the hightest standards of cleanliness, comfort and hospitality. As with all the guesthouses in the area parking is limited and is allocated on a first come basis. As well as a typical full English breakfast being available there are vegetarian options and if advised at time of booking a tofu vegan dish can be prepared.

Went to stay at Le Maitre for the second time. Got a warm welcome from Gary and Shirley. We were early but was able to check in. Lovely clean room and both were very conscious of Covid, both wore masks the whole time. The breakfast was gorgeous ( sausages were the best ever) will definitely be going back again. Can highly recommend this little gem. Thank you Gary and Shirley xx

Booked a last minute trip- booked whilst driving there and got a message almost straight away asking when we expect to arrive and accommodating and early check in! Nice one! Very safety conscious- Shirley took us in to book in- everyone wearing face masks - even the pen to fill forms in had been sanitised. We were asked how many sausages we want for breakfast- never been asked this before 😂 probably because the sausages are amazing ! Obviously requested 2 each! Yum! Great hosts- they leave you to it but leave messages to say where they are and how they can be contacted. Really friendly. We stayed 1 night in the HUGE family room. Very clean and comfortable. Bottled water and biscuits in the room (it’s the little touches that make all the difference). Lots of sanitiser and safety notices around you can see they are making a lot of effort. Location is perfect ! Bang in the middle of everything. We had a 5 year old with us and he could walk fine to everything- shops, beach, and restaurants. Will definitely stay again when next in Southport. Breakfast is included and there’s free parking also. We only stayed 1 night but we were made to feel so welcome. Thanks Shirley and Gary.

Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and your breakfast. The sausages and Eggs are from local farms which both delivery direct to our door and the family room is a lot bigger than average. We appreciate you mentioning all the extra effort we are putting in to ensure a safe stay for everyone. We hope we will see you all next time you are visiting Southport

With a warm welcome, lovely room, great hosts and beautifully cooked food. The Le Maitre is " A little bit of lovely" Gary and Shirley clearly "care" about their clients and it shows. Spotlessly clean, restful decor, home cooking coupled with smiles and free, on site parking plus wifi what more could you ask for. A central location competative pricing and a" Will come again atmosphere " This place has to be amongst the best. Enjoyed every minute. As Arnie said. I'll be back. Thank you. Mike and Dot

Thank you Mike and Dot for your delightful review, It was lovely to read that your experience of Le Maitre matched our vision of what we wanted a stay with us to be like. We do have many years experience in the branded hotel and restaurant sector but when we took over Le Maitre several years ago we wanted our place to have the safe high standards of a hotel but with the friendly relaxed atmosphere of a bygone seaside B & B. We are glad you enjoyed Gary's home cooked evening meals and breakfast. We have lots of regular guests who stay several times a year who we now regard as friends. We hope that you and Dot will be amongst them in the future as we enjoyed getting to know you this weekend.
