Stayed here a few times and I love it. It has a great location on Lord Street near to Weatherspoons and Morrisons Supermarket so you are catered for everything within a few minutes walk. The rooms are nice and clean and the staff friendly. Parking in Southport is a bit tricky but I park outside the pay zone and just walk in. It's great to get to the beach and walk along the prom from here. Prices are flexible so it is possible to get a really good rate at certain times. Reception is on the first floor.

Stayed here for attending an event locally. Price was less than £70. Breakfast was not included but you have a few choices nearby. No free wifi which was disappointing.
Rooms are basic and the sound insulation is not the best but it served its purpose.
No onsite parking but parking available a few minutes walk away which only accepts coins ( Think it was £6 for overnight stay)
Would stay more if wifi was included.

Stayed for 2 nights to see panto. Carpet stained around the edges but overall room and bathroom very clean. Staff very helpful when I had a slight problem with shower. Good location, central with pier area/theatre within a 10 minute walk. Parking had to be paid for in car park nearby. Next to Morrisons so did find my room (209) very noisy early morning when the bins were being moved about just outside window one morning and bins being collected the following morning, so ask for room on other side of building. Mentioned it on checking out and lady did say to mention it when I stayed again and they would ensure I was put someone else, so can't ask for more. Very, very good price for a central stay and would use it again. Didn't realise I had to ask for room to be cleaned but when went to Reception they were very helpful and provided me with towels and more tea/coffee/milk so not a problem at all I am quite capable of making my own bed.

Room Tip: Ask for room away from the Morrison's side, possibly higher would be better.

My boyfriend and I just recently stayed at this hotel. We’ve stayed before but a couple of years ago and didn’t have a problem. We thought we’d request a room through the twitter who told us that our request had been sent but we may not get what we requested, we requested to have a room with a bathtub.

When we arrived, we asked upon check in and we did not have a room with a bath tub but luckily the lady on front desk quickly double checked if any were available and much to my delight there was and she moved us into that room instead. The surprises didn’t end there, the room we had was huge and had a lovely big window that opened as we enjoy our fresh air whilst sleeping. We was in a side room so the noise from the traffic didn’t affect us even with the window open. It was great!

No complaints at all. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay! We enjoyed it so much we are looking at coming again but for two nights fairly soon.

The location is prime location too, right behind a big Morrison’s. Don’t even have to cross any roads. Right outside the door is a Papa Johns. Many restaurants nearby. Southport fair isn’t too fair away along with Splashworld. It’s a fairly straight walk to the beach and pier.

The hotel is located at the top end of Lord street, within easy walking of shops and bars etc.
Reception is on the first floor, all floors are served by the lift. If you request the sixth floor odd numbered room you will get a sea view, all be it over Morrisons loading bay (not too much noise experienced).
Rooms are clean as is the rest of the hotel, like all Travelodges there is very little storage. You do get tea &coffee and TV. The bed was comfy with extra pillows if required. Bathroom consisted of a walk in shower , which was hot and powerful, basic toiletries are supplied via a dispenser in the shower and by the sink. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful especially the young guy on reception unfortunately I can't remember his name
No dining is available but less than 5 minutes you are in Witherspoons if you want breakfast close by. You find street parking close by free of charge, and you can park in Morrisons car park at the rear of the hotel for up to three hours while you unload your bags.

Booked here at the last minute (think it was the night before) and was still only about £30 for us despite other well known "budget" hotels nearby being almost triple that price.
You can park all night just over the road at the Church car park for a couple of quid which is handy, theres a Papa Johns pizza right by the front door so no need to go far if you get a bit hungry.
I was visiting my old mate Derek Acorah at his house which was a five minute drive from this place, theres a Morrisons behind which we used for a bit of breakfast and a quick shop, room was spotless, lovely hot shower facilities.
Also Pleasureland is moments away if youre a thrill seeker.
Would happily go here first if we ever visit Southport anytime soon.

There's budget hotels and then there's compete dumps. This definitely falls into the later category.
Stairway stinks of smoke due to smokers congregating in the entry way. Reception then unmanned so waiting around to be able to check in.
After finally getting key and heading upstairs we're greeted by hallways with threadbare carpets covers in stains. At least they're consistent by having the floor in the room identically stained.
Entering the bathroom things don't improve. The linoleum had a large white stain on floor underneath toilet, clear sign of piss being left uncleaned so many times that the ammonia has bleached it. The shower has got spots of black mould around the edge of the tray and the complimentary soap/shampoo has an awful smell. Luckily I always bring my own for this reason.
The positive is the shower itself was nice and hot and had very good pressure. Unfortunately the shower is also pretty small so would benefit from a door rather than a curtain as this keeps moving and sticking to you.
As with most budget hotels the temperature in the rooms is almost unbearably hot. Unlike most though the duvets provided are thick enough to keep anybody warm in the middle of the Arctic. After opening the window to try to cool the room enough to sleep things get worse. Room overlooked a Morrisons loading bay which operates 24hours meaning lots of noise, and also had the bins emptied at 6am. The heat, noise, and the fact the beds are also extremely lumpy and uncomfortable with springs digging into my back means I got no sleep at all.
As for WiFi you can have 30 minutes before they charge for access. Basically a con after already paying £60 for the pleasure of the staying in this sorry excuse of a hotel.
100%would never stay here again and likely won't stay in any other Travelodge again either based on this experience.

Me and my partner stayed here as we had an event to attend at the theatre and I can’t really fault it as it’s exactly what you pay for. I have stayed In travelodges where the beds are really uncomfortable but here they were perfect.
Parking can be found behind the building and we paid £10

Accessible room facilities were great, plenty of room for the wheelchair/mobility scooter, toilet had rails and had wet room facilities with plenty of rails, only problem was the bed was a little low with no handrails but it was not inaccessible and only a minor inconvenience as with using crutches and holding onto one of the chairs we put beside the bed it was manageable.

Initially had an accessible room and double room on separate floors (i went with my disabled Nan) the lady on reception noticed this after we had checked in and offered to move the rooms closer together, she personally checked the closer rooms and accommodated the move (without us even mentioning it, she did this on her own initiative, i presumed because we’d booked last minute that was why we were separate so didn’t bother asking).

No parking with the hotel but you can park on the street outside for up to 4 hours (pay and display or free with a blue badge) and then it is free between 18:00-8:00 for everybody. Alternatively you can pay and display at the mecca or Morrison’s car parks which are 2 seconds away.

The rooms were clean and tidy, also had an electric fan in all rooms which was a welcome surprise. The lady working reception was absolutely amazing, very accommodating, kind and approachable, she couldn’t do enough for us, she’s a credit to the business, its a shame i didn’t catch her name as i would have liked to credit her.

Would definitely recommend as a cheap, clean, and well placed hotel for a few nights away. Has great facilities and is well placed location wise.

You can never fail with travelodge. You get exactly what is advised you will get!! Rooms clean and fresh. Very smooth check in everything was explained. It was very nice to spend time with family. I’ve read the reviews about travel lodge Southport we are in the UK since when do we need air conditioning. It was explained upon checking due to Covid the cleaners are unable to fully clean the rooms on a daily basis however, if you require any additional towels, refreshments it’s available from reception 24-7 what more do you want!! To spend your precious time going out of your way to point out minor faults then you really need to get out more. Southport is a lovely place and yes there are seagulls which are to be expected here, if you don’t want to hear them maybe hwve
