Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Has to be the smallest double room ever. The bed was a foot from the wall either side; no dressing table; no chairs (stools, akin the ones found in shoe shops don’t count) and a TV which is only slightly bigger than a desktop computer monitor. The trip was finished off with a very underwhelming breakfast. Note to self: stick to B&Bs next time

Everything just average at best. Asked for Double bed it’s a twin bed pushed together. So massive gap. Cheap bedding. Cold room Old bathroom. Looks dated and used. No long mirror. Some Premier inn beat this. Says bar open until 23.00. Go to ask for order at 22.15. No closed. Called in advance at 19.30. No answer. ‘Breakfast included’ cold. Dry. Not worth it. Wouldn’t re book. Try something else. Staff in evening eating at bar and rude.

The hotel is located down a quiet side street just off the Busy Lord Street. There is very limited free street parking but there is a church opposite that allows payable parking on their Carpark. We paid £8 for 24hrs so not bad at all. The lady on reception is very nice and friendly, our room was ready when we arrived early and she allowed us to checkin immediately. Our room was in the top floor No25. There is a lift so no problem for anyone with mobility issues. The room itself was very clean but very basic. There were two single beds pushed together, my husbands mattress was very comfortable but I could feel every spring in mine and it creaked every time I moved, not a good nights sleep for me. There’s no air conditioning so we slept with all the windows open. The bathroom was a wet room, the shower is powerful but the water soon travels all over the floor so can be slippy. The sink was a nightmare, the taps/pipes move and they are so close to the back of the basin you can hardly wash your hands. There are two chairs in the bedroom but they are so low you can’t get up very easily again ! Easier to sit on the bed ! The breakfast however is amazing ! The highlight of our stay. Included on the price of your room is a Continental Breakfast. It’s all laid out in a little room for you to help yourself and there is so much choice. Cereals, boiled Eggs, Toast and Preserves, Freshly baked pastries and beautiful fresh cut Meats and Cheese, Coffee Tea and Juice. However, for just £6 you can also have a full English which is superb and beautifully presented. You choose your own table in the restaurant or conservatory to eat your breakfast.

We arrived on tuesday 5th Sept for our 2 night break and was welcomed by a very professional gentleman on reception who explained what the hotel had to offer.our room was on the ground floor room 2 of which we found very clean and bright with a king size bed.we had decided to include a full English breakfast with our stay they certainly gave you a FULL ONE.as for the evening meals at night there was plenty of choices. I will be recommending the Dukes Folly to our family and friends as well as any one reading this review. You won't be disappointed. KEEP UP YOUR BRILLIANT WORK. You will be seeing sooner than later
