Booked for a two night stay over the weekend, hotel is welcoming and staff helpful and friendly. Our room was with shared bathroom but we did have toilet and sink in room. Some general maintenance could improve the look of the bathrooms, shower was quite slow running, and seal do

Not too bad, decor/carpets could be improved but acceptable. There is a car park onsite, however when we stayed there were no spaces left and we arrived early (before 2). You can park on the road but there is a charge, free after 6 but you pay 7 days a week.

Cant complain about our one night stay here. Room was decent and clean except for the toilet had been left unflushed rom the people who had stayed in there before us. We were able to come back at whatever time we wanted after being out in Southport that night. The only issue was

How many ground floor rooms, and single rooms, as I organise coach trips, and need disabled access, and room for motor scooters as always bring two, and others hire them
Hi Marlene there are no ground floor rooms but there are a couple of stairs to go up which have hand rails it has a ramp outside for you to get the scooters inside and the hotel owner is very very helpful so if you contact him about the scooters and the first floor rooms has is what I done and he arranged the scooter for me and the first floor rooms so I would give Gilbert a ring they are so very helpful. Hope this helps. You want be disappointed with your stay has the main town his only 3 minutes away. Regards Mark.

Are there ground floor rooms for people with mobility issues if there are no lifts here? Would you recommend this for a 5 day break for a couple in their 80s?
Hi, My name is Gilbert my wife and I have owned the Talbot Hotel for 19 years and have have thousands of elderly people stay in our hotel over that period many returning on a regular basis. we specialise in group travel, we have 24 rooms set over three floors, the age group we tend to cater for are between 60- 90. we have no lift but we handle all the luggage to and from the rooms, the stairs are standard house stairs, our guests are treated with good service and home cooked meals, if you intend to travel with a coach operator from your area you will get their veiw on the hotel as it is normal for them to come on invitation from me to inspect the hotel, if your parents cannot manage stairs our hotel would be difficult for them, if they are able to use stairs they can specifically request a first floor room. we are 5 point rated by enviromental health and are fully compliant with fire regulations and health and saftey standards Thankyou for your question, I hope the answer helps you, I am avaiable if you wish to contact me by telephone or e mail. Regards Gilbert
