we spent a couple of nights here. Its not the cheapest option, breakfasts are extra, but its warm and has a large car park. Its right on the Main Road. Clean and well run. Near many different places, so a good place to explore the area from.

We had brought along our own travel cot for our 1 year old and was advised the hotel has a room with a full sized cot that we can use, very handy. The room was very big, modern and clean. Hotel looks a bit run down from the front but this is not reflected by the rooms. Breakfasts freshly cooked...

The hotel is about 20 mins outside Durham, and I turned up after 7pm on a Sunday. The place initially looked closed, but I found my way in and easily found the owner inside. Immediately he made me feel very welcome, showed me my room and asked if I wanted to eat. Although the restaurant was in darkness because of...

We stopped in for coffee this morning. It was nice as was the cake. This is a place we must visit for food. It is spacious and clean. The car park is being enlarged. It is in in ideal location on the A68, north of Tow Law.

Shown to our room and again noticed how clean and comfortable the room was. Met the owner and had a nice chat with him, seemed very honest and helpful. The meal was good, not great but very nice all...

I must admit, my first Margot Leadbitter/Hyacinth Bouquet influenced impressions upon arriving in the carpark were not good. To all intent and purpose, this was an American transport cafe. I would guess however, that the works were underway in the carpark were to improve and extend. For good reason as I was to discover. Our family party included our 1...

We have been here on several occasions now for the Sunday carvery. Everytime we have been it's been lovely. Plenty of choices of meat, loads of vegetables, stuffing's, sauces, home made yorkshire puddings. Has always been busy so goes to show its popular. Staff friendly and service good, would recommend. Sorry cannot comment on the vegetarian options as have not...
