Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have stayed at this hotel on many occasions and have never had a problem. On this occasion Melanie was particularly helpful. We are Pensioners and I have difficulties getting about. She did every thing to make sure we were helpful. The hotel is near the town and the road system makes it easy to get about. The staff in the Brewers Fayre were also very helpful. The room was comfortable the cleaner being excellent. If you want a good place to stop off then I recommend this to you. I have said many times before the quality of the process relies upon the staff. Look after them they deserve it.

Lovely Premier Inn, our second visit there. Both times we have had a really friendly welcome. Rooms very comfortable and clean, breakfast in the pub opposite great too. Really good location for exploring the surrounding area including Barnard Castle and the Bowes Museum.

I cannot recommend this Premier Inn and Brewers Fayre highly enough. All the staff are very pleasant and friendly and work together as a team. Even at a 6.30 am breakfast they are smiling and cheerful and get you off to a good start. Our room was very clean and the bed wonderfully comfortable and if we should find ourselves in the area again would not hesitate to book in again.

A good night's sleep. Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean rooms. Quiet! Staff did everything they could to help. Parking is free. Brewer's Fayre offered a good carvery, which was tasty and value for money. Although it officially stopped at 6 pm we were able to catch it at 6.30pm. Thanks to the staff.

Lovely staff, Melanie at check in was so helpful and welcoming to my young son. the room was bigger than we expected which was ideal for my son to burn off his late energy. The bed was comfy, and we weren’t disturbed by noise at all. Would 100% stay here again if we were in the area!

Having stayed at West Auckland many times before we knew this would be completely right for us. We were attending a family wedding and on arrival requested an early check in. As a new computer system was being used a few problems arose with check in. Melanie was so helpful and went above and beyond to assist us whilst trying to navigate the new system. I think without her expertise and help we would have had a real problem checking in. Thank you Melanie.

Room Tip: If possible always request an early check in - a room is usually available - well worth the £10.00.

Stayed at the Premier Inn Bishop Auckland whilst visiting family with my elderly father. I was looking for a clean and comfortable room with friendly staff but nothing luxurious. The bed was comfortable and the room a good temperature and quiet. The staff were, without exception, friendly and helpful. At one point my Dad who was in a separate room got lost and went to reception. This was dealt with without fuss or drama. Had breakfast in the Brewers Fayre opposite which was good and again the staff were friendly and helpful. The location suited my needs well and I will stay again in future.
