Been a few years since we ate here and has changed a lot. Went for a carvery and was decent enough. Good choice of meats and veg. We were crammed in a bit lots of kids running about. Not what you want when carrying plates about. You get a free desert with it too.

How far from the kynren.
It's quite a way but you can see where Kynryn takes place from the hotel on a lovely walk down the hill towards the castle and Bishop Auckland town centre. It's only as far as the entrance to Kynryn is on the far side.

has anyone had afternoon tea here
Hi Davy W, We had an Afternoon Tea at the Parkhead Hotel and I would recommend it. They brought lots of delicious sandwiches, homemade biscuits and cakes. They even catered for a fuss pot of a daughter as she only eats chicken and chef cooked this and serviced on bread without any butter as this is exactly what she wanted! Nothing was too much trouble at all. We had an abundance of tea too! I would return.

Yes. We checked this Pre stay and the staff were very accommodating. We arrived slightly after midnight on one of our visits but I did ring them earlier in the week to let them know.
