Stayed at the Melville Lodge the night before flying out for our holiday. Proprietor Bryan was very welcoming at check in and room was nice, clean and warm. Had a lovely night's sleep. Breakfast was a tad on the early side for our flight (7.30-8.30) but was very tasty and we were given a selection of English breakfast and branded... More

This is the worst place EVER I have stayed truly awful! Room stank of damp, bedding was dirty! windows were sealed shut everywhere. Awful smell upon the front door opening. The bathroom was filthy with 3 bottles of 3 quarter show gel left from previous guests! Which made me want to throw up, the hand wash had about 2 tablespoons... More

I stayed just the one night, for an early flight at Gatwick airport. I was made to feel welcome and really liked the simple but quality feel of my single room. A taxi was arranged for me for 3.45AM - the driver was there right on cue. Sadly, I had to miss the breakfast, but I was provided with some... More

Situated a 5-minute drive away from the airport, this lodge provides a very cost-effective accommodation with a personal and intimate touch. The owners, Bryan and Farida were very helpful and welcoming, also booking the taxis. My room, a single with ensuite, was large enough to have a double and a single bed, which would be great for families. It was... More

Having many friends in the area I just wanted somewhere to dump my luggage and sleep. This was perfect. Although by a main road it was quiet at night inside the room. Could come and go as I pleased late at night and not disturb anyone and the owner was only to pleased to advise on buses and taxis. Only... More

My friend and I were looking for an extra night somewhere in Gatwick after staying at the Gatwick-Belmont. We found Melville Lodge to be very accessible in price and accommodation, especially since the owners, Bryan and his wife, were so friendly and servicing. The Victorian room decor was very inviting and cozy during a rainy night. In the morning we... More

No reason not chose. Owners are most helpful and genuinely friendly. The full English Breakfast is real nice. Car parking for the duration of your vacation is on site and only a 5 min (subject to traffic) £5 taxi ride to the terminals. So if you are looking for a no fuss stay.....you have just found it!

I stayed here overnight for an early business meeting in Horley. Room was clean and comfortable. Shared shower room and toilet were fine -no queues! Nearby pub with excellent food and beer. Breakfast was excellent - offered more toast - full English delicious. Owner even drove after me to return phone charger I'd left in room. I'd say that was... More

This excellent guesthouse is the perfect place to spend a night if you have an early flight from Gatwick. Less than 15 mins from the airport, it is in a beautiful little village with plenty of eating possibilities. The bedroom is lovely and the beds are comfortable. There is a sink in the room and tea-making facilities, and if you're... More
