Many travelers commend the Premier Inn London Gatwick Airport for its ideal location right next to the North Terminal, making it a favorite for those with early flights or on layovers. The hotel's atmosphere is generally found to be welcoming, with a lively bar and clean, comfortable rooms, though some areas appear to need updating.
While guests have called out the spotless nature of the rooms, opinions on the value are mixed, with some concerns over extra fees and inconsistent Wi-Fi. The service is often praised for staff helpfulness, yet some guests have encountered noise disruptions during their stay.

Detailed Reviews
Using Premier Inn North Gatwick was so easy to stay and fly early in the morning. Room was spotless, if you’re using the restaurant for your evening meal, it is important you book a table.
The 4 lifts in the building are very frustrating to use are very slow to call, you are constantly pressing the button, it then sends you to lift no1, by the time you drag your bags through to that lift area, doors have already closed and the lift has gone up to another level. You can also return your key card in the lower ground level prior to the short walk to the terminal building.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review. It is a source of great pride for us to reside in close proximity to the airport. Firstly, I would extend my apologies for the disappointment you have experienced. This certainly is not what we would hope for our guests to experience during their stay. It is regrettable that the you were unable to receive our standard extraordinary values at the time of your arrival. As being one of the active and expansive establishments, it is likely that our elevators will experience high levels of usage. I would like to express my gratitude for your patience. Secondly, we highly value your wise observations specifically with regards to the room and cleanliness. As the restaurant is very popular, it is recommended to book table in advance. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we are committed to providing a more seamless and enjoyable experience for all our guests. We'll be delighted to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Premier Inn London Gatwick Airport North Terminal to receive our usual high standards. Kind regards,

Great hotel,2 minute walk to the north terminal,if you’re flying out of the south terminal there’s a free monorail that runs 24/7 it’s much quicker getting to the south terminal than staying in the south side hotels. The food and facilities are really top class,we did pre book the restaurant in in evening as it tends to get busy, the staff are really nice and friendly and very helpful, especially on checking in,I couldn’t work out how to check in on the self service machines, but a lovely young lady came over and saved my blushes, just Booked again for October can wait, just one more thing for smokers you don’t have to go down and outside as the doors are open by the restaurant that take you to the smoking area.

We had a 7.30 a.m. flight and wanted a good nights sleep. Dinner in the restaurant was prompt and well cooked. Breakfast was freshly cooked and having an early night slept well we enjoyed breakfast before popping across the road to check-in Great location quiet room made it an excellent start to our holiday

Stayed here due to early morning flight from the South Terminal. We actually parked at Cophall Parking (offsite) and got their hopper bus to drop at the North Terminal Bus/Coach station. From there it was a short 5 minute walk around to the entrance of the Premier Inn. When you first arrive, you are greeted by lifts....you will have to get the life to the reception where you will be greeted by members of their team along with very efficient self service counters. You simply pop the surname/booking reference in along with postcode....and out pops the keys (get 2....one for the electrics and one for when you go for tea etc). We paid for the upgraded rooms on Floor 9....with this you get some extras like leather chair, nice coffee, water, chocolates plus amenities in room. You also get a voucher when checking in which gives you unlimited wifi (upgraded wifi) which Is well worth it because standard wifi is absolutely horrendous for 2024. The bar downstairs was busy but with plenty of seating, large floor to ceiling windows and some large TVs showing the sports. We can't comment on Thyme Restaurant but I can say it was RAMMED with a large queue at around 19:00 odd (if memory serves). Check out was straight forward....dropped key when leaving through a small box. When leaving, you just walk across the road and onto the mono rail (if departing from the South Terminal)....we departed the hotel at around 04:50 ish and by 05:15 we had already checked our bags in and had gone through security!
Tips: Definitely pay the extra £25 or whatever it is for the upgraded room - the wifi itself is worth the upgrade, plus we had views (on our side anyway) of the terminal/runway.
Try to book in around 15:00-16:30. Any later and you may get hit by a load of people checking in at reception which appeared carnage.
Downsides: The lifts literally do not work. Don't be surprised if you are standing around for a solid 2-5 minutes waiting for one of the four lifts to even appear even after pressing the buttons.
Standard wifi is pants.
£6 drop off charge - be warned - no parking there.
All in all, a pleasant stay, superbly placed for the terminals and reasonable priced compared to the Sofitel/Hilton etc. Will 100% be staying again next time we fly from Gatwick. A couple of small gripes as mentioned, but easily the best Premier Inn we have stayed at.
Cheers!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Premier Inn London Gatwick Airport. It is a source of great pride for us to reside in close proximity to the airport. As an airport hotel, our purpose is to offer the best relaxing and stress free experience to all of our guests and it is a satisfaction to note that you enjoyed your stay with us. It is wonderful to read you thoroughly enjoyed your Premier Inn Plus Room, with the extra amenities and upgraded WIFI. It is a pleasure to know that you enjoyed your experience in our bar area. As our building has a number of floors, the usage of the lifts can be busy at certain times. Your feedback is very much appreciated regarding this and also regarding the drop off where guests will need to enter the car registration into the system which Reception hold and only guests staying with us are exempt from paying the forecourt charge. Otherwise, they will receive a PCN (Penalty Notice Charge). Thank you again for your lovely review with regards to your stay at the hotel and we look forward to welcoming you back again in the near future. Kind Regards

Very impressed. For a 700 room hotel the efficiency was spectacular.
We also took advantage of the £29.99 meal deal giving a 2 course dinner, a drink, and buffet breakfast. Far superior to airside offerings for value. Extremely quick and cheerful service from our waitress Laura.
Unbelievably just 2 mins walk from the terminal.

This hotel has a great location for onward travel from gatwick Airport - it could not be better for North terminal, and it is well signposted from the N Terminal.
The reception is on the 1st or 2nd floor so everyone takes one lift to reception and a second lift to their room; the lifts seemed reasonable.
The reception uses a digital human free booking in machine - this demands ones home post code to book in but only accepts UK post codes; this is not helpful if one has a different postcode. Thankfully there was an assistant to help with all the different options, but this would be difficult if not fluent in English.
Room was fine for an overnight stay.
We were requested to fill in a questionaire about our stay and the reason for our stay - obvious.
We would be happy to stay here again if catching a morning flight due to its location and reaonable price

Very handy location, directly opposite the airport entrance. There was no signage from bus stop to hotel which would have been very useful. Check-in was self service. I appreciate some may prefer this however I do not. The rooms were very small and claustrophobic, made worse by the window being sealed so no way to get fresh air in. However the beds were comfy (including childs bed), bedding was nice and clean and there were toiletries in the bathroom, kettle and drinks, extra pillows, great towels and ironing facilities. There was shower with no bath and the free wifi was not a very good signal (there is a charged option available but we didn't use).

Thank you for sharing your feedback based on your recent stay at Premier Inn London Gatwick Airport North Terminal. We are proud to be located opposite the North Terminal, providing convenience for all of our guests. Unfortunately we are not permitted to add any directional signage within the airport grounds. As a very busy 701 bedroom airport hotel with other 1500 guests arriving, the self check in kiosks provide a valuable service for those who are happy to use them. Our team are also on site 24 hours for any issues our guests may have throughout their stay. I am delighted you found our beds to be comfortable and enjoyed the cleanliness of our rooms. Some of our rooms have be converted to include showers so that we can offer this option to our guests. If you have any specific requirements please call the hotel directly prior to your stay, and we can add notes to your booking regarding room allocation or requests. I hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back for another comfortable stay very soon.

Stayed at the Premier Inn at Gatwick North before and after our recent trip to Cyprus due to early morning departure and late evening return.
Booked several months in advance at £54 per night and then added the £29 breakfast and dinner meal deals.
Having previously stayed at far more expensive airport hotel options our expectations were fairly low and we were pleasantly surprised.
The location was literally a 2 minute level walk from the North terminal entrance and the free train shuttle to the South terminal forrtunately just as close as we flew out from one terminal and back to the other.
Comfortable room, and bed although a full king would have been better than the queen (available as an upgrade option?).
The meals were not only great value using the meal deals but also good quality. What surprised us most was how freindly and helpful every single member of staff were. Not always the case in huge busy establishments but very refreshing to find. We will definitely use again and highly recommended.

With 4am check in for our flight across the road in North Terminal, it made sense to book Premier Inn North Terminal. We planned on arriving at the hotel check-in time and having an early evening meal with an early bed so we'd reasonably rest for the following morning. Our experience of Premier Inn is of helpful staff, comfortable well-designed rooms, and the feeling of your holiday beginning right there.
It didn't quite work out that way.
The Premier Plus room on the 9th floor was clean, and nicely designed with thoughtful touches like the mini fridge, Nespresso and tea-making facilities plus quiet location. The wifi signal (in spite of purchasing the premium package for 24 hour access) was so faint as to be unusable. A nicely designed menu for Thyme Restaurant was also left for you to study plan out.
With the booking process, reserving the room was easy enough to follow, when it came to booking the evening meal the options on offer were a continental breakfast, English breakfast or meal deal combo (no option for dinner only). With a 4am check in over at North Terminal, breakfast was not going to be an option for us so there was little point in booking a Meal Deal.
Booking dinner alone was perhaps an inconvenience for the hotel so as a result was not offered with little consideration for looking after guest needs.
Previous experience at other Premier Inns suggested that arriving for dinner at 5.45pm without having booked was not a problem but in this instance, we joined the end of a long queue. Arriving at the Thyme Restaurant we were told that since we hadn't booked the earliest we could expect to be seated was 8.15 - two and half hours later. It was then 'suggested' we go to North Terminal and see if anyone was buying dinner.
Provision of a menu in the room suggests that Thyme is trying to 'sell' its dinner service to the hotel guests and yet cannot then deliver that experience.
After traveling by train with luggage for half the day we were hoping for a relaxed evening meal followed by a good night's rest. Instead, we were having to search out dining options in North Terminal leaving us feeling wound up and irritated by the experience.
Not surprisingly, despite the much-vaunted beds, we slept little.
It suggests that Premier, out of their own preference & convenience, offers 'one size fits all' solutions so a minor detail like not needing breakfast means you're denied the option of just booking dinner along with your room.
Having booked a Premier Plus room I expected rather more consideration from the hotel than the experience we ended up with.

Fab location, footsteps from north terminal entrance, cross the road ip the escalaor or lift and the entrance to arrivals/departures is directly in front of you.
The mattress is firm but I managed a good sleep. The rooms were lovely and quiet, blackout curtains, however it would be nice to have had the option to have the window slightly open for some fresh air as the rooms aren't overly massive and get hot quickly.
