Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very warm and very friendly hotel, the rooms are spacious and accommodating, staff couldn't be more helpful, limited parking which you need to pay for on arrival, but i was made aware of this beforehand so i was expecting it, would stay again

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay: friendly staff, comfortable bedroom with tea/coffee making and biscuits, and a great buffet breakfast in the morning. The buffet breakfast area is impressive with very comfortable chairs and they include tattie scones and black pudding - must haves for a Scottish breakfast. Great location for visiting the castle, distillery and the city centre. No problem paying for our parking, but thought the price was pretty steep, hence 4 stars, but would definitely visit again

Lovely room, great shower and big bath. Wonderful location. Staff, without exception, cheerful and efficient. Emma in particular was very helpful and gave an excellent restaurant recommendation ('Brea' - wonderful food, friendly staff). Despite additional cost, parking was easy.

The top floor room on first impressions was lovely and large with a generous bathroom including a large bath and shower. The first disappointment was the lack of any vegan options for room service after our long drive, (not even a salad could be mustered) although a gluten free meal was available for me. The lift was not working for any of the 3 days we were there. Reception was supposed to be manned 24 hours but most of the time the phone just rang and rang, and we ended up just going down to reception instead, where we found it unmanned on several occasions. We asked for a taxi to be booked for one morning to get us to a funeral. However, on the morning of the funeral no taxi appeared and when I raised this at reception and they chased the taxi firm to be told the cab was never booked! There wasn’t an apology but luckily the taxi firm sent one straight away which got us there just in time. The sound insulation between rooms was not good either and for two nights we were kept awake by noises from the adjacent room which sounded like a dog doing zoomies and using the wall to change direction. And the occupants clearly had no idea how to use door handles. It is a nice looking hotel, and was very clean, and is in a great location in the city center and near the castle, but if you like a quiet night this hotel probably isn’t the hotel for you.

Arthur, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us, as a Bed & Breakfast our food menu is limited to provide an out of hours meal service for those arriving with us late and not having an alternative dining option. The team work across a variety of departments and whilst the hotel is always manned they may be dealing with other guests at the time. We provide full service Bar where the snack menu can be ordered. I do apologise that there was an issue with the taxi booking, these are usually self service from the kiosk at Reception so that you get a text message confirmation and then tracking information on your reserved trip. Issues of noise is not something that we are use to hearing of and this is a surprise to us as goes against the feedback we receive and whilst we cannot control the behaviour our guests I do apologise that your night was not as restful as you expected. Best wishes, Lee Norris | General Manager

Hotel is nicely decorated and the rooms well appointed, breakfast was as expected. However the charge of £15.30 to park for 24 hrs , if your staying the weekend its almost £46 , this is hidden in the conditions section and not obvious when booking , next door hotel does free parking for guests and has a swimming pool for the same money , its time the Collesio stopped ripping guests off for parking or include it in the price.

Bert, Thank you, I pride ourselves on transparent pricing which is why however you book with us you can see the parking information both before booking and in the confirmation so that every guest can make an informed decision before booking. By charging for parking and having it included in the price would mean that we charged people whom did not use the car park, which is the majority of our guests and I feel this would not be fair. We hide nothing that we do, and introduced a parking charge some years ago to ensure that adequate parking was available in the city centre for those whom needed it. I do hope that the rest of your stay in the hotel was up to your expectations, I feel this was due to the 4 star review, and I do hope that we would be able to welcome you back again in the future. Best wishes, Lee Norris | General Manager

Me & my partner stayed 2 nights in this beautiful hotel. From checking in to checking out it was a really great experience, on arrival we were greeted with smiling faces & we were pleasantly surprised by the voucher for 2 glasses of bubbly & a late check out of 12pm it was a really nice touch. We booked into a king deluxe room & it did not disappoint. The room was HUGE. The bathroom was very spacious also, with a very LARGE bath & shower. The bed was very comfortable & the heating also worked great & kept the room at the perfect temperature. The only negative I have is the lighting in the room wasn’t the best but I understand that this hotel prides itself in being sustainable so I do understand but it was hard when getting ready on a morning as there was just 2 bedside lamps & another lamp on the desk which weren’t very bright. It was ok during the day when it was bright outside however I didn’t really like opening the curtains as I felt there was very little privacy as our room looked onto a back yard carpark and people were walking past daily that could look up and see straight in our windows.

What an AMAZING place to stay and so central to explore Stirling! We were greeted by Lynsey, the duty manager, who I have to say was incredible! She carried all of our luggage up 3 flights of stairs, whilst we enjoyed our complimentary prosecco at the bar. Lynsey made our stay the best we have ever experienced. No wonder she has won employee of the year for 2 consecutive years! She is a true ambassador for the hotel. Our room was spotlessly clean and large. We had our two dogs with us and the fuss the staff made of them was lovely. We had breakfast in the morning, which again was hosted by Lynsey. She looked after us with her charming bubbly way! Breakfast was delicious 😋. We were so thrilled with our stay that we are not only going back to stay in 4 days time but we will book to stay in June to celebrate my 60th birthday ! To the owners of the Hotel, please acknowledge our feedback on. Lynsey, as she is I credit to the hotel Amanda and George
