My partner Jane & I originally found and booked a room at Castlecroft with booking.com having read some positive reviews on their website, none of them really did Laura and her business enough justice so we thought we'd give it a go We intended to use our 1 night stopover as a resting place before carrying on further north to do the NC500. - we were met at the door on our arrival by Laura who immediately came across as 1 of the most amiable people you'd wish to meet, it was as if we had known each other for ages, such a lovely person who obviously keeps a very clean and well presented property where her guests are her number 1 priority. The rooms are spacious, very clean and homely with lovely artwork adorning the walls etc, the en suite shower and bathroom again very clean and the beds unbelievably comfortable. Breakfast - what can we say, not enough superlatives for the choice on offer. I opted for porridge with honey and cream to start with alongside fresh orange juice and then a fruit yoghurt, the obligatory 'full Scottish' was cooked to perfection and the toast afterwards was bread that Laura makes herself, there's also a constant stream of tea and coffee. Breakfast times are staggered slightly so that nobody has to wait and again Laura is on hand to answer any questions or just a chat should you so wish. After completing the NC500 where Jane & I sampled a number of other bed and breakfast establishments around Northern Scotland, none of which came anywhere near matching the standards of Castlecroft, we opted for a second nights stay on our way back home and this time in a different room - couldn't fault the room, the breakfast or the host again. All in all a wonderful small bed and breakfast in the shadows of Stirling Castle, a wonderful host who really does work so hard in looking after her guests whilst making it all look so easy - Laura you are an absolute diamond, thank you so much for your hospitality Best wishes and regards Martin & Jane

First time visiting the Castlecroft, staying for 3 days to visit Stirling and surrounding area. The Castlecroft is set just below the grandeur of Stirling castle commanding amazing views from the bedroom and large guest lounge. From start to finish Laura made us feel welcome. Showing us around her lovely B&B, the views, the guest lounge that includes coffee, tea and a selection of Tunnocks Tea Cakes and Shortbread. The cooked breakfasts were amazing including quality locally sourced ingredients and home made bread. We will definitely return in future and highly recommend this B&B. The Stirling area is fantastic to visit and we would also recommend Fletchers, Hermanns and The Alan Park for dining.

Laura's Bed and Breakfast was absolutely fantastic! Laura is such a lovely host, and her place is beautifully decorated. The breakfast she made was not only delicious but you could tell it was made with love. In the evenings, sitting by the fireplace with a cup of tea made us feel at home! Can't wait to go back sometime!" Than you laura, Best Reini and Stephie

If B&B was a sport then Laura and Castlecroft would by rights be the British Olympic entry. The property is in a great location, just at the north end of Stirling Castle and we walked in each day along a tarmaced footpath to see the sights. The location means that you do not need to go through the centre of the city to reach the B&B and there is plenty of parking space. Nothing was too much trouble for Laura, and she was very interested to help us enjoy our stay. The bedroom and ensuite were beautifully clean, and lovely and warm (January). There is also a fantastic lounge with a real fire and views out across the countryside north of the city. We both enjoyed our breakfasts, there was a great choice and the cooked options were really nicely done. On our next trip to Stirling we will be sure to return to Castlecroft.

Laura is such a gift to any traveller. The warmth in her is real, with a honest interest in you, where you come from, what you'd like to do through out your stay. The hospitality is great, lounge super comfy, snacks yummy, deck spacious. Our room was quiet, clean and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast, all prepared and cooked by her, was delicious, with vegetarian options. The location of Castlecroft B&B is perfect for walking into the town, the castle and its surrounds. Make sure to have a flashlight with you if you're walking back at night though, the footpaths are unlit. Laura has so much local knowledge too about things to do and see in Stirling.

Yes, we read reviews and understood that this B&B was touted to be amazing. We also planned our trip on advice from Rick Steves copious body of work traveling to Scotland. We understood the promise, but would the reality be what we expected? I'm pleased to report the reality exceeded our expectations. Nestled under Stirling Castle, and easily within walking distance of this tourist spot, the setting was accessible and stunning. But you have seen the pictures and other reviews... you should know this. Perhaps what the other reviews may mention is the breakfast. Yes, it was wonderful and you will need to try the full Scottish Breakfast (but if not, Laura will provide what you order as well...). Everything is great, but the stand out is the homemade bread. White or Brown? Don't fret, get each and just savor the delight. Whatever Laura is doing there, she'd doing it right. Trust me (but by all means feel free to stay a few days and verify). Thank you Laura 'Croft' - it was our pleasure to make your acquaintance!
