Visited for an overnight stay and found this hotel to be first class. Reception staff professional and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The room was absolutely spotless and theHotel is obviously very Covid aware, so we felt very reassured.
The evening meal was delicious and our waitress was very friendly and efficient. Presentation and quality of food was excellent. Same again for a lovely breakfast, with lots of choice on offer, again good quality and well presented. Staff again very attentive and friendly.
I would highly recommend a visit to this lovely hotel in the beautiful grounds of Stirling University.

On Arrival, check in was easy.
Rooms lovely and warm. Spotlessly clean so far so good
Into dinning room for drinks reception prior to Hogmanay dinner, food was delicious and pipping hot, only criticism was a fairly long wait between courses. The entertainment was very good and did carer for all music tastes.
Nerdy breakfast is buffet style and plenty to choose from and evening meal, again delicious and pipping hot.
ALL staff were, ever so pleasant and nothing was a bother.
SUMMARY.....
Faultless and will be returning,
100% Delighted with our stay. .

We have just spent the weekend at a function in the Stirling Court Hotel.
As a fully dependent wheelchair user we had booked a double fully accessible room with a wet room shower. The space within both rooms was ideal, however, the facilities within the room were very poor. The room had 2 rather tired, well used, single beds with no headboards! Most uncomfortable, apparently no different to all the accessible rooms.
The shower room chair was attached to the wall had a cushion/padding across the back seat - no room to safely sit on.
Sink far too small, difficult for shaving or washing.
Toilet flushed intermittently.
No shelves or flat surfaces to put equipment or toilet bags.

The staff within the hotel were all kind, exceptionally helpful and most efficient.

Sadly unless all these facilities are updated I certainly wouldn’t recommend the hotel for disabled visitors.

We booked this hotel with our tiny dog as it was stated that it had dog friendly rooms. We booked online and then called to ensure that it was dog friendly and were assured it was. We thought it was quite a reasonable rate at £55. We arrived and the reception was great and the receptionist was also very welcoming and helpful. Having been driving all day we were pretty tired and hungry so wanted to eat and were told that dogs were not allowed in the restaurant or the bar area. Very strange for a 'dog friendly' hotel! The very helpful receptionist put a table in the foyer for us to eat. Really not comfortable sat there but we had no other choice. The room was clean and bed comfortable but when we wanted a shower there was only scorching hot water unfit for humans to stand in. When I went into the bathroom to try and sort the issue the fire alarms went off. Then a disgruntled guy came and knocked on the door and asked us to close the bathroom door and open the windows. Now were half naked and freezing cold! We gave up on the shower and decided to hit the road. Cant have breakfast as we have a dog with us! We were then charged a fee of £25 for having a dog. Unaware of this at the time of booking, even after calling the hotel! The least I expect from a hotel is that I can use the facilities to eat a meal in the evening and breakfast in the morning and have a comfortable nights sleep and a shower in the morning. We only had the comfortable nights sleep. All for a whopping £80! So all in all we paid and additional £25 for less facilities to use!! How can you justify this. There should at least be a small area that's 'dog friendly' so people can eat with you! The most frustrating thing is that the restaurant and bar area had a grand total of 2 people in it! I feel robbed at £80. I had read the 'dog policy' online and it stated nowhere about your facilities not being dog friendly just that you cannot be with your dog in communal kitchens! Overall pretty poor. Really has the potential to be a great hotel with its location and newly refurbished restaurant etc. Wouldnt consider this to be a dog friendly hotel as your made to feel like an outcast for having one. If dogs aren't allowed in your facilities. Don't state that your dog friendly!

Dear B4546INsimone, Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay with us. I was pleased to read that the receptionist on duty was welcoming and helpful and that she did her best to offer a dining solution. I’m sorry however to read that you encountered an issue with your shower, leading to the steam causing the subsequent fire alarm. Unfortunately in a case such as this the manager on duty would have been trying to establish that there was no real fire in your room and I’m so sorry he’s come across as disgruntled. I'll ensure this is reported to the maintenance team. We promote being dog friendly simply due to that fact that we allow dogs in our rooms and that the surrounding area is such a great place for adventure. I’m afraid with just one bar and restaurant we are unable to accommodate our furry friends in there, simply due to other guests allergy considerations and the fact that food is served in these areas. The policy on our website advises of this and of the additional charge for dogs to stay: www.stirlingcourthotel.co.uk/application/files/2015/6984/0257/Dog_Friendly_Terms_and_Conditions.pdf , I think maybe the one you make reference to is perhaps the one for the University campus. Although not an option in the winter, the better weather does open up a whole outdoor dining area, where of course you’d be able to dine with the dog there. There is also the option of dining from the room service menu in your room, again I know this isn’t everyone’s ideal especially if you are away for a few days. I do hope that you may consider using us again in the future and please be assured that we’ll continue to look at ways where we can make the stay more comfortable for pets and owners. Kind Regards, Karen Burke

I was visiting the hotel last night the 7th of February 2020. The trip was to see family my two sons.

I traveled from Fort William on my motorbike, and on arrival the girl at the front counter was clearly bemused at me coming in with biker gear on.

You would have thought she'd lost a pound and found a penny. Not in the, slightest bit interested in my arrival. With a face to match.

The hotel is clearly geared up for the
corporate client, events and conferences etc.

I think my arrival was clearly just a nuisance to the girl, and I went to my room feeling a bit deflated after my ride down.

The room was clean enough but the bathroom was tired, the painting was shocking, the shower gel was not in the holder.

The flush in the toilet was not great and the showers pressure was terrible.

There was no water in the room which with the heating on is far too warm.

The view out of the window, well quite simply there is no view, I looked out onto the carpark.

It's fine if your here for a conference or your, work are paying for the hotel but for £71 paid upfront may I add, there are a lot more homely hotels in Stirling to visit.

When I booked the site said the breakfast was 13.50 the grumpy lady at the counter said,

"No its not its actually 6.50."

And made me feel stupid to boot the way she spoke to me. I travel all over on my bike and love a smile and a friendly welcome. This was unfortunately not forthcoming.

I do not think I would pay that price again.

There was a conference on as I arrived and they were met with a smile a HUG!! And chocolates, mabye the hotel should employ these ladies.

If you just want a bed OK. But it's an expensive bed not to be welcome and to be looked at like you were in the wrong place.

It will be interesting how the management deal with the review to see if they can take steps to change my mind, mabye a second review will be on its way soon

Hoping the management are happier than the welcome I received.

Overall, poor, corporate, lack luster, stiff unfriendly feel.

Iain

Dear Iain, Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay with us. I’m so sorry that what you did not experience the welcome and service with a smile that we strive to achieve. This is especially disappointing for me to read because in general terms we consider the best aspect of our hotel to be our friendly and accommodating team, as you’ll see from the numerous reviews before. Please be absolutely certain that I will take this up with the staff member concerned, who I’m sure will be hugely embarrassed that this has been the impression given. I’ll also be keeping a very close eye on the welcome our valued customers are experiencing on a daily basis to ensure this has been, as I genuinely believe an unfortunate one off incident. The cost of breakfast is as you rightly state £13.50 however we do offer our guests a pre-booked advance price if you’ve booked a room only rate. This is offered at a discounted and this should also have been explained, I’m so sorry you were made to feel stupid. I’m sorry also that you experienced some maintenance issues in your room, I’ll have these reported to our maintenance team to be rectified. Thank you again for passing on your valuable feedback without which we’d be unable to constantly review the services we are providing. Kind Regards, Karen Burke

It would take more characters than allowed to note all the things that were disappointing at this hotel. The door is sealed with a sticker saying it was deep cleaned. If this was the case why was there gunk around the neck of the pump soap. Also where the shower screen meets the bath wasn't very clean. The bed moved when I sat on it to take my shoes off, luckily I didn't end up on the floor. The breakfast was a buffet style and you were served by uninterested staff. Getting a hot drink was a joke you had to find a member of staff and request a drink. On one occasion I requested our drinks and was clearly forgotten then asked if we would like to order drinks. The whole experience was very disappointing we will not revisit this hotel again.

From the moment we met your receptionist until we left we were made to feel welcome. We arrived earlier than the advertised check-in time but were happy to hear that our room was ready.
The room was clean and comfortable. All we needed was there. Bed, TV, hair dryer (not for me....lol). Shower or bath were both fine with lovely soap/shower gel/Moisturiser available.
All meals were tasty and enjoyable in fact we were disappointed that we did not manage to eat all main and dessert options.
Staff play a big part in making sure that guests enjoy their stay and we had many conversations with reception, breakfast and dining room staff during our stay. Indeed I am sorry that I did not have a notebook to mention all whom we met. Yvonne, it was good chatting on a few occasions with you. Reception staff all very professional and efficient indeed the different personalities and humour shone through from you all.
Faye, you are nice, friendly and efficient while recognising our local accent....I don't have an accent !!!
Allan, loved our chats and pointers to things local which may be of interest. Top man.
All of your colleagues in bar area too made us feel comfortable indeed all were attentive and went above and beyond for us. Your new staff in bar dining who we met are in safe hands. I would hope that we will return. Thank you.

After reading previous reviews I was disappointed. I didn’t find the staff in the evening warm or very welcoming. The receptionist at check in did not explain things I had to ask where the bar was, the way to my room etc.
The room was cold on arrival and the curtains whilst being very good quality and lined covered the radiator so I had to push them onto the window sill.
If you want a hot bath rather than warm then you will have to use the kettle to top up. The walls are thin and the floors very squeaky.

I was advised to book a table so I booked for 8pm and was seated in the bar which was very noisy. The dining room wasn’t being used.
I immediately ordered my food as I had already decided to have a chef special of shin beef. Thinking it won’t take long to re heat and plate up.

I sat there for 50 mins watching people that came in after me being served with gourmet burgers and the like. I was also offered another persons food on two occasions.
When I eventually got my meal the mash was almost stone cold but I was hungry so ate half of it to satisfy my needs.

Breakfast staff were very good but the food was hit and miss again with heat issues.

I won’t be returning

Dear Overnyter, Thank you for taking the time to comment on your visit to the Hotel, I’m so sorry that your stay with us did not live up to expectation. Service in the Hotel is, as you’ve seen in previous reviews, generally applauded by our guests and I’m disappointed this wasn’t your own experience. I will certainly keep a close eye on the team and raise any shortfalls with them. We haven’t received any feedback in the past about the bath water being warm rather than hot and I can only assume we’ve had a maintenance issue causing this, thank you for drawing it to my attention I’ll have it checked as a priority. I’m sorry that service in the bar was slow and appears to have been haphazard when you dined. The beef shin you ordered would have been a special on the night and all of our food is cooked to order, this however would not explain why the food took 50 minutes to come and arrived cold. I will investigate this further with the team concerned. Thank you again for giving honest feedback of your stay, without which we would be unable to continually strive to improve. Kind regards, Karen Burke

Wouldn't hesitate in stopping here again. I recently stopped here with work with around 90 other colleagues which wouldn't have been easy for staff. They were polite, welcoming with nothing too much!

The rooms were nice and cosy, with a double bed and nice ensuite. My room had a small TV which was a little annoying, but not all rooms were like this with some having big 30 inch flat screens.

The facilities were brilliant with large conference rooms with a bar too. The food was excellent with a large selection for breakfast lunch and tea.

The location is brilliant with a stunning lake, co-op a 5 minute walk away, state of the art gym and swimming pool. The William Wallace monument is only a 10 minute walk away and is well worth it. There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel which routinely travels to Stirling Town centre.

Hoping to return for a family break one day!!
