Travellers' Choice
Converted from old stone barns and stables, these nine charming character cottages have delightful pan tile roofs. Tastefully furnished with the emphasis on comfort and relaxation, superbly equipped, spacious, yet cosy and warm in winter. Traditional stone fireplaces and beamed ceilings. In open countryside overlooking fields where sheep graze. Just a short walk to the ancient town centre

We have returned to Keld Head Farm Cottages many times since 1994 and can highly recommend because of the exceptionally high standards of the accommodation, the warm welcome from the owners Penny and Julian and the fantastic location. On arrival there was a lovely welcome pack in the cottage containing essentials such as tea, coffee and milk and also delicious cake and Prosecco. Penny and Julian are always on hand to attend to any concerns and to offer good advice on where to visit and what to do. The cottages are very homely and comfortable and fitted out with everything you might need. The cottages are located on the edge of Pickering with easy reach of the North Yorkshire Moors, the coast or the City of York.

We had to find temporary refuge between moving from London back up to North Yorkshire. We did not know what we were coming to but were just grateful to have somewhere to go. We were so relieved to find Keld Head Farm Cottages.Every care had been taken in terms of being Covid secure; the cottage we had (Pigeon Cote) was well appointed; there was everything we needed and more. The owners were incredibly helpful. We could not have asked for more.

After numerous attempts to get any vacation in 2020, Penny and Julian came to our rescue! After cancellations and reschedules we eventually were able to travel beyond our driveway ! We have visited Keld Head many times over the past 30 years. Enjoying the hospitality offered by Penny and Julian. Our family have now grown up, and so we were visiting on our own, and the activities we planned have changed, This was also the first time we have visited in Autumn, normally our visits have been over the summer months. We have always loved our visits to North Yorkshire and specifically to Keld Head. This time we avoided the busier towns and villages, preferring to visit some of the more remote locations around Yorkshire well we still enjoy a wee trip to the City of York (we could never miss out a visit to our favourite English City ) , and enjoyed a visit to Little Italy restaurant We discovered a wealth of country walks in and around pickering, finding easy walking routes around Helmsley, Whitby- Falling Foss waterfalls and Robin Hoods Bay. We also made the effort to travel a little further afield to Wensleydale to take in Aysgarth falls. It was so nice to find Keld Head the same welcoming place in these difficult times. A genuine home from home, where everything you could wish for is provided, Penny and Julian were still able to provide the warmest of Yorkshire welcomes, managing to provide their cottages in a Covid friendly environment which immediately made us feel safe and comfortable. For many reasons 2020 is a year we will all want to forget about, However our holiday week in Keld Head will be one of the memories of 2020 that we certainly will not want to forget, it was a delight and pleasure as always. We will most certainly return Hopefully in the near future, when we can continue our exploration of new places discovered. Thank you again for giving us another fantastic holiday.

We found our hosts to be welcoming and the accommodation was of an excellent standard, clean and well set up. It's not very often you get to a place and think, wow, they really have thought of everything! Information regarding our cottage was very clear and also shared with us prior to arrival. The surrounding grounds and cottage gardens were well kept. We also appreciated our host's sensitivity for the environment and recycling. Keld Head Farm Cottages proved to be a great base from which to launch visits to the nearby coastal towns, explore Pickering as well as walks in the country side, e.g. Dalby forest. We cannot wait to get back.
