We visited as a family group of 5 , three generations and were very happy with everything at Rawcliffe House cottages. The property is scrupulously clean and very well maintained. The recently refurbished kitchen had all the equipment and white goods required. Bedding and towels were good quality and the beds comfortable. Our group loved being able to mountain bike and walk from the door .We were not blessed with sunny weather but there was still plenty to do in this lovely area. The hosts, Duncan and Jan were friendly and informative without being intrusive. All in all we were very happy with our choice and would fully recommend.

A superb location with lots to see and do. Excellent and very well presented accommodation. Everything that you need is provided within the property such as utensils and a very comfortable bed and a well set out wet room. The owners of the cottage are on hand and are very helpful and lovely people. I would highly recommend staying here.

We were pleasantly surprised to see how clean the cottage was when we arrived. This trip was our first since COVID lockdown March 2020. Cleanliness is important to us as a family with young child. The cottage was newly re-furbished. It was great. The farm has many beautiful and happy animals- e.g. pretty ducks we never see before, as well as 2 friendly goats -Bill and Ben. We had endless fun feeding them with dandelion flowers. It was so much more fun to interact with them freely than going to city farms with fixed feeding time etc. We were lucky to have 2 nights of clear sky and we were mesmerised by numerous stars we could see, including the Starlink. It was magical. Even though we went in mid-May and the forecast was rain for the whole week, it actually did not happen. Rain did come but mostly in the afternoon. We even managed to have fun on the beach in Whitby with some sun. It had toilet and cleaning facilities as well as café for ice-cream and drinks. The sand there was great for making castle. Easy to clear from clothes too. The Adventure Park in Castle Howard was great fun. The steam train experience in Pickering was special. We loved the fish and chips platter in the Magpie Cafe too. We do think the village of Whitby was too busy and touristy for our liking even though it was a weekday- we did happen to go on the first sunny day since easing of lockdown. We like the informative app/link that the farm provided. Everything we need to know about the cottage and ideas to explore is there. It was hassle free. We had any happy memories. And we have booked to return!

First class service and with all the present restrictions everything was spotless and we had a most enjoyable stay. Jan & Duncan are very good hosts and very knowledgeable about the area, where to visit and eat. Plenty of good walks on their doorstep.
