My husband and myself had an evening meal here and have to say it was excellent. Cannot fault it. My husband had the lasagne from the specials board and I enjoyed a wonderful gammon with all the extras. We has two excellent starters, prawn cocktails and then the wonderful crumble for afters. Will definitely come again.

Over the years I had visited this pub on and off as I have passed by and have alway enjoyed my visits. The atmosphere and food were amount the best I had ever found in a village pub, on my last visit I found that the pub was under new management, visually not much had changed but the once inside...

This is a superb little local pub that is very welcoming and has great atmosphere. The food is great home cooked food and very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit and shouldn't be missed. It's at the foot of the North York Moors and you can be in the countryside within minutes of leaving the pub. Highly worth a visit

Charming little pub, bustling with locals. Tonight was homemade pie night served as specials - fantastic! Our party of six included two German exchange students so I was delighted to find that there was a great children's menu available too. Overall... fantastic quality, great prices and a very warm welcome. Worth a try.

I've never been here before and decided to try after it was mentioned it was under new management. 5 of us went and none of us were disappointed. We had the gammon x 2, steak pie x 2 and fish and chips, all hearty portions and delicious. We also sampled some of the home made desserts, all fantastic. Well worth...

New managers had taken over at the Cayley so we were faced with what looked like a first class menu. We were not disappointed. A nice touch was freshly baked homemade bread, to wet our appetite. The gammon and steak pie were perfect. And desert was to die for. The bill was great value for a family of four. We...

We had Sunday lunch here as we were staying in the nearby Old Stationmaster's House in Allerston. The serivice was speedy, good wholesome food and generous portions. We were too full to have a dessert but there was a good choice on the blackboard.

I agree with the last poster. The upstairs was cold and dark .We stayed here in December 2012- it was a grouop booking and we had bedrooms only not breakfast. I am speaking ONLY fromthe experience we had of our twin room. It had clean bedding on the beds- but the over blaket was stained. The windows were in need...
