Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in Elderberry Lodge, and it was amazing. The attention to detail and the fixtures and fittings are really lovely. The lodge and the surrounding grounds are immaculate. The staff obviously work incredibly hard . High Oaks Grange is a lovely peaceful place, and somewhere we think is quite special

Property's Favourite Review
Well…. This is our 7th visit to High Oaks and this time to celebrate our Pearl Wedding Anniversary 💕 We had no doubt where we wanted to be…’ Our little piece of Yorkshire Paradise’ 💙 All the accommodation we have stayed in at High Oakes has been AMAZING 🤩 and so when Elderberry Lodge was advertised and we knew where it was situated we just had to book there. The views from the decking (and hot tub) are so beautiful, we sat for hours just admiring 😍 (champagne in hand of course 🥂) The enclosed garden is great, especially with Luna (our very spoiled Dog) the wildlife is also a joy to watch 🐇🐿️🦅 Everything as usual is to the highest standard.. and they really have thought of everything 😊 … 6 nights of sleep full bliss on the comfiest mattresses 😴 I didn’t think it could get any better High Oakes but this Lodge, I definitely Do not want to leave! In fact as I’m writing this I’ve just been looking at dates for our 8th visit.. Thank you once again for a 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Visit and memories to treasure 💞

The Grange at High Oaks Grange is just amazing and a true ‘Home from Home’. We have never been away for New Year but this trip was booked in September 2021 following our families having to stay in separate cottages due to COVID restrictions at the time. The house has everything you could possibly need and the space available caters for all including the smaller sitting room with an array of books to choose from should guests need a little peace (our children didn’t know it was there there was so much for them to do in the games room). The swimming hot tub is just amazing and was certainly well used even when it was pouring down with rain. Despite the site increasing in size since my first stay (I think October 2019) it is so peaceful and I didn’t see or hear any other guests. The pre arrival information and booking process is smooth even when we added an infant (not planned when we booked 🤣) and some last minute dogs to the booking it was no trouble at all. We had a trip to Dalby Forest and two trips to a nearby golfing range (both within a 15 minute drive). I’ve stayed here 6 times (3 girls weekends and 3 family holidays) and each visit has been just perfect. There are a number of lovely pubs within walking distance and right next door is the Cedar Barn farm shop. We didn’t use it on this occasion but their enclosed dog field is an amazing space to tire your four legged friend (and the little 2 legged variety too) and is very reasonable to book. I can’t wait to book a return visit - you won’t be disappointed if you do too.

Luxury accommodation in a beautiful countryside setting. Stayed for 2 nights, as 2 couples for my partners birthday. Our lodge was decorated for Christmas, which was a lovely touch. The lodge was warm and welcoming on arrival. There was a pint of milk in the fridge, tea, coffee sachets and sugar were provided. There was a welcome basket with biscuits, ground coffee and a tub of crisps. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment needed to cook a meal. Towels are provided, so no need to bring those. We had a walk into Pickering on the Saturday, which took around 30 minutes. We walked down to the road but you can cut through the fields evidently. We recommend calling into the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in Pickering, it’s like stepping back in time! We highly recommend a stay at High Oaks Grange!

We stayed at High Oaks Grange over new year. From the minute you pull up at the gated entrance you realise how much effort has been made to make it stand out. Our accommodation was a woodland lodge and was by far the highest standard of lodge we have ever stayed in. The lodge was spotlessly clean on arrival and a really nice touch of a welcome basket with some crisps, coffee and biscuits. Normally I struggle to sleep when away but the beds are so comfortable there was no problems at all. The hot tub was a great addition and even though it rained on evenings we could still use due to it being undercover. The location is great. A short distance from Pickering, cedar barn next door and a short drive to Whitby and Scarborough. We read through the recommendations for dining out on the website and picked the star inn at Harome for New Year’s Day it was excellent recommendation. A lot of thought and detail has gone into each lodge there is everything you need. High end decoration and luxury throughout. This was our first stay here but certainly won’t be the last.

We spent Christmas at Elderberry Lodge and had such a fantastic time in this luxurious accommodation that we added a few more days to our holiday. As always, the facilities were perfect in every way. The lodge was beautifully decorated for Christmas . The surrounding grounds are so beautiful and allowed us to have a very relaxing holiday. The staff are so helpful and efficient. This was our ninth holiday at High Oaks Grange and we look forward to returning again very soon😊

It was the first time me and my family had been away for new year and we were not disappointed! On arrival the lodge was brightly lit and on entry to the lodge there was a gorgeous Christmas tree lit in the lounge it was beautiful. The lodge is set out so well! from the back door with cover to wipe the dogs after a walk to the door to the bathroom opening so when using the hot tub u don’t trail water through the lodge. The deck is wrap around equipt with bbq obviously for warmer months, furniture and the hot tub. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need we made a full roast in New Year’s Day. I would highly recommend, there is lots to do around we popped into the village, Whitby and Scarborough it was a lovely relaxing break and we all enjoyed it and would love to return. There was even a ps4 and games in the lodge in request for my son with 2 games. We’re already looking to book again through the year.
