Beech Farm is a luxury complex of eight unique and character-laden cottages situated on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. The award-winning conversion retains the original charm of these historic buildings but all of our cottages are equipped with the modern comforts discerning guests expect - high speed Wi-Fi, flat screen smart televisions, dishwashers, Nespresso coffee machines, high thread count Egyptian cotton linen and towels etc. Exclusive to our guests is the use of the indoor heated swimming pool, spa, sauna, children's play facilities (including indoors - dedicated playroom with books toys, an arcade machine, table football and large screen for kids' movie nights - and outdoors - super-sized in-ground trampoline, farm-themed playground, small football pitch) and farm animals to interact with and feed. Located just to the south of the idyllic North York Moors in a picturesque village, within easy reach are countless beautiful walks and bike rides, the historic towns of York and Whitby, vast sandy beaches, country houses, picture postcard villages and plenty of activities to keep young and old fully entertained.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We've been to a few farm stays, and this one was the best we've been by a country mile. Graham and Kirsty are fantastic hosts and really seem to have thought of everything to ensure our stay was perfect. Our toddler had the time of his life feeding the animals each day, swimming, playing in the park and playroom, movie night, etc. It was an amazing stay and we can't wait to come back!

Property's Favourite Review
Got back from our 4th visit today and have already rebooked for next summer! Beech farm gets better every time we go - Graham and Kirsty (and Sarah) are really lovely people and wonderful hosts, both our children (6 and 11) feel very relaxed and welcome there and this is only place our eldest (who has autism) relaxes and joins in. The animal feeding is a great highlight each morning and the film night and garden games that are run make the holiday great fun. The pool is spotlessly clean and ideal with very shallow end for our non-swimmer and deep end that is safe for our eldest to jump in! The cottages are always immaculate and nothing is too much trouble for Graham and Kirsty. Thanks for another wonderful holiday - next summer can't come quick enough.

This was our second stay at Beech Farm and it was just as good as we remembered. Tanglewood cottage was a perfect home away from home and our three year old daughter loved the daily animal feeding, pool and play areas. There was also lots to do close by (despite being off season) and we enjoyed trips to Dalby Forest, Piglets Adventure Farm and a couple of local NT properties. We are already planning another visit next year as Graham, Kirsty and the team have put in place such a wonderful set up for young families.

Stayed at Beech Farm in the Fat Hen cottage for a long weekend with my partner and 2 year old. A lovely little cottage which was quite small but enough space for the 3 of us. It was immaculate and everything is top quality. The playroom, outdoor space and swimming pool is fantastic and the animal feeding each morning is a real highlight. The hosts Graham and Kirsty are lovely and were so welcoming. I can’t fault anything about Beech Farm. Hope to be back again soon.

We booked the Farmhouse at Beech Farm for a family celebration. From start to finish, the whole experience was perfect. Everything one could possibly need for self catering was provided and the entire house was very spacious and spotless. The lounges and bedrooms were beautifully warm and cosy. Our party of 9 consisted of three small children and we didn't need to leave the property for the entire weekend as there was so much to do. The pool, playroom and the outside play areas as well as the animal feeding sessions kept everyone fully occupied. Thanks to Graham and Kirsty for welcoming us.

Really don't know where to start...... even before we arrived at Beech Farm the support we received from Graham was excellent and questions were answered very quickly. Nothing was too much trouble. Shepherd's Lodge was absolutely brilliant, there was nothing missing or that we felt we needed, everything had been thought of (including cots, stair gates, even umbrellas and the option to borrow toys/books from the well-equipped playroom). The on-site facilities were fantastic from the animal feeding every morning, the sunken trampoline and the pool was a particular hit. When you're catering for an age range of 64 down to 7 months and there's 12 of you there's not many places that can keep everyone happy but Beech Farm definitely did. Thank you Graham and Kirsty, we'd definitely like to return whether that be with children and grandchildren or on our own!

Lovely holiday here. Cottages are gorgeous- clean, cosy and well equipped. Kids loved the animals especially the rabbits and guinea pigs and could have spent all day in the pool. Plenty of stuff to do nearby but we spent most of our time relaxing on site. Owners and staff very friendly and attentive if needed but relaxed vibe to whole place. Liked the ethical products for cleaning etc. Honesty shop great for emergency minstrels/pool noodle. Very handy to have a pub doing food so close and friendly locals-felt at home/welcome with kids. Also have to mention fab local beautician Nicky who came to do my gel nails-a total treat and she did a great job-thank you! Lovely spot and we hope to be back (girls are already asking when!)

What a find! Beech Farm exceeded our expectations with all its immaculate facilities. The accommodation was roomy, clean and comfortable with everything you could need. Throughout the site, a great deal of thought has gone into absolutely everything and it would be hard to think where improvements could be made. The grandchildren particularly loved the pool but enjoyed all the other activities on offer on site (animal feeding, table tennis, playroom etc, etc). The owners and staff are all extremely helpful and friendly and I couldn’t recommend it more.

We are so happy we found this place. It was recommended to us by friends and we will return. The setting was beautiful and 30/45 minute drive to seaside locations. The set up was perfect for our 15 month old baby who had a fabulous time. Everything for our baby was catered for and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they were all so lovely and helpful. Accommodation was perfect and feeding the animals every morning was a highlight.

We are so happy we found this place! It was recommended to is by a friend who had stayed who also had a young child and it was fantastic. It's situated in a lovely quaint village and is half an hour to 45 minutes from some lovely seaside attractions. The accommodation was just what we needed; it was cosy and homely and the site it is located on has everything we needed and more. Our 15 month old loved playing on the toy tractor and in the play house area, and we all looked forward to feeding the animals in the morning and going for a swim in the evening. I can't recommend it enough!
