Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Perfect Guest House, cannot fault it! Where to start to praise this little gem in Pickering. Must add straight away that this feels more like a superior hotel than a guest house as it is very private and upmarket. Excellent location, very short walk to the Market Square. Good parking, felt very secure. On entering the house, immediately you can see that everything has been given attention to detail and is finished to high quality. The guest sitting room is spacious with comfy, quality sofas and an open fire roaring away to make us feel welcome. Our room (7) we can highly recommend as it is a good size and a very comfy superking bed with quality cushions and pillows. Warm and cosy with heated towel rail in the en-suite bathroom. Luxury soap and towels. There is a nice walk in wardrobe with plenty of room for bags and belongings. The tea and coffee is plentiful with biscuits and chocs. The breakfast next morning was superb, cooked to perfection and you can have whatever you want with a very organised pre-order the night before. We cannot wait to return and wouldn't consider going anywhere else now when staying in Pickering and will be bringing family to book one of the cottages which they also have on site. Highly recommend Bramwood Guesthouse - must be one of the best places to stay in Pickering.

We have visited Bramwood Guest house several times over the years, all of our stays have been fabulous. Warm welcome, comfy beds, lovely rooms slap bang in the middle of Pickering. The worst part of our visit was having to leave, but at least we get the chance to come back.

We booked this B&B on a last minute whim, and we're so glad we did! Our room (no. 6) although small and on the top floor was perfect, spotlessly clean and so warm and cosy. The bed was very comfortable with lovely pillows. Everything was very well laid out and even had a soft glow nightlight in the bathroom so you didn't need to put the main light on in the night 👌. Breakfast was great, although it was tempting to have a full English there were other options that were a lovely change. Our hosts were very nice and we'll definitely come back if we are in the area.

What a great find! This was our first stay at Bramwood Guest House and it won't be our last. Bramwood is ideally situated close to the centre of Pickering and therefore has a number of places where you can eat at night (but advise booking ahead). Bramwood is a lovely place to stay. Warm, clean and comfortable with a great choice for breakfast - which was gorgeous. Bramwood also has the bonus of plenty of car parking. I'd recommend Bramwood to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay in Pickering.

Stayed here for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Richard and Helene were perfect hosts and full of useful information about the area. Room was very comfortable with good selection of complimentary tea and coffee with a form to order more supplies if needed. Breakfast was fantastic, with a form to choose what you wanted, which is a good idea as it saves waste on items you would not eat. Parking was good, with on street parking outside the front, and a rear car park which we did not need to use. Very well located for walking around Pickering, would highly recommend staying here.

Thankyou Richard & Helene, we really have thoroughly enjoyed our three nights with you at Bramwood. We have always loved Pickering & the surrounding area. Bramwood is the perfect location. The en-suite bedroom & the whole of the guesthouse is immaculate, smelling fresh & clean each time we entered! We really like the idea of the breakfast preorder form for each day & the cooked breakfasts are amazing! The complimentary drinks tray in the room is very thoughtfully put together too, with everything from hot chocolate to fruit teas! Everything is exceptionally good & you are both perfect friendly hosts, where nothing is too much trouble. In addition to all the above the car park at the rear is an added bonus! We intend to return & only wish we had found you sooner. Thank you P & R Stevenson

Pros ~. Location, very clean and great breakfast. Cons - room insulation. All night could hear the room above us walking and talking. Well up till the small house do didn’t get much sleep Saturday night. Light switch in the bathroom hit the shower making a noise. Ok during day but not middle of night. More installation between floors a must.

The last time we received a 3 circle review was June 2017 When you work 7 days a week almost 365 days a year you learn to accept that you can’t please every one . However ‘ the light switch in the bathroom hit the shower and made a noise ‘ That’s the best I’ve heard in 13 years . Made my day I notice that most of your reviews are 3/4 circles even when excellenct. I’m pleased that you found or rooms to be clean and our breakfast excellent .

We had a fantastic stay at Bramwood. Helene & Richard are perfect hosts, welcoming and really take an interest in their guests. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the bed and room were very comfortable with a good en suite and plenty of hospitality items such as shampoo, tea, coffee, water etc. You can order more consumables during your stay as needed. Breakfast was exceptional! There is a large choice on the menu, pre order the evening before and you wake up to a delicious breakfast of fruit salad, cereals, croissants, full English or Continental along with tea, coffee, toast etc. Everything was so fresh and tasty, perfectly presented and hosted. Pickering is a fantastic market town and Bramwood is perfectly placed for you to be able to explore Yorkshire as all routes to other areas (moors/dales etc) are easily accessible. We would highly recommend Bramwood and will definitely be back next time we visit Yorkshire. Thank you for a perfect stay!
