We are a family run, family friendly 3 star licensed bed and breakfast which strives to make your stay as comfortable, enjoyable and stress free as possible. Be it a one night business trip to a three week holiday, we will do everything we can to ensure you will not go home disappointed. Every year since 2010 we have been awarded Trip Advisor's Certificate of Excellence. The building is on the promenade facing the seafront on Morecambe’s south beach, locally known as the West End. All the rooms are en-suite with toilet, sink and shower so no sharing down the corridor with other guests. What we do offer is a cosy, friendly, quiet relaxed atmosphere for you to kick off your shoes and chill. We have a licensed bar where you can enjoy a drink and a chat. You can play bar games such as darts, doms, crib or even play on the wii on a big screen TV. We love nothing better than sitting in the bar swapping jokes or life stories. We serve a good selection of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks and nibbles throughout the day and evening at very competitive prices. We have a residents' lounge where you can get away from the hustle and bustle. You can watch T.V. or a DVD, select a book to read or just sit in the large bay window and watch some of the loveliest sunsets to be found in the UK. Our breakfasts are cooked to order and served to you at your table. There is also a selection of cereals and orange juice which you can help yourself to. We also stock some of the essentials that we have all left at home before such as toothpaste and brushes, shoe shine kits and sewing kits. Ironing boards and irons are available if required. As we are a B&B by the seaside, we also have a small selection of beach toys available for the kids. Buckets, spades and fishing nets of course and maybe we could find a ball or two. If we haven’t got it, just ask and we will endeavour to obtain it on your behalf. If you have any problems or queries then please, Contact Us. Our Motto There are no strangers at The Berkeley, just friends that haven’t yet met.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Another great stay at the Berkeley B&B, both Mal and Colette are fantastic hosts who go out of their way to provide an excellent stay. Nothing is ever too much for them and their knowledge about the local area was most helpful. The accommodation was spotless with a comfy bed and bedding, extras such as tea making facilities a hair dryer and toiletries should award it a higher star rating. The breakfast was superb, how Colette was able to juggle catering for all the guests different orders was so impressive. All in all an excellent stay in a fantastic location and great value for money.

Great weekend for march of the mods. Malc and Collette very welcoming hosts. Nothing too much trouble. The 2 rooms we had were exceptionally clean / bathrooms tastefully decorated with handwash/ shower gels etc provided.
Had full English breakfast that was superb. Second time visiting and we will be back.

This is our third time staying at the Berkley Hotel. The first stay was a few years ago. The standards are still extremely high. The rooms are spotless, the shower is great ( really powerful) Soap, shampoo and conditioner at your fingertips in the shower a great idea. Bed is comfy in both rooms we've stayed in. TV works great, and is great size for a short stay. Blinds and curtains in room enables a good lie in. Owners are very friendly, but professional, and nothing is too much trouble.
Excellent breakfast. We are booked in again in March

Booked the trip on an off-chance and found a real gem. Clean, tidy and well kept. We had a room on the top floor with accommodation for three people which was bright and airy. Clean towels and linen and plenty of drawers for clothes. The hosts were very friendly and made sure we felt welcome. Breakfast was great and freshly cooked to order. Would I book again? - 100% yes.

This is a first rate guest house. It provides excellent value for money. It is modern and comfortabl. There is great attention to detail. The proprietor gives a warm, efficient welcome. It is conveniently located, with a regular bus service from nearby bus stops a couple of minutes walk away, but is within walking distance of the station.

We chose here after reading the previous good reviews and were not disappointed, we had an overnight stay to break our journey on route to Scotland from Cornwall. We were welcomed by Colette, we got to our rooms and they were spotlessly clean, the room has a booklet with suggestions of things to do locally which was good, later in the evening we went to the bar & got looked after by Colette & she joined my daughter & I in the lounge for a little while & we had a lovely chat & could see the sun going down from the lounge. In the morning we had a Great breakfast to set us up for the day & later in the morning after we were on route home, Mal called me to advise we had left something behind which he kindly agreed to post to us to save us turning back, this was above & beyond, & was greatly appreciated. If I am down this way again, I would not go past the Berkeley. Many thanks for our lovely visit.

Hi Suzie, The reason there are so many first time reviewers is maybe because over the last couple of years, Trip Advisor have brought in new initiatives where they send e mails to guests once they have left, asking them if they would like to submit a review. This obviously prompts the guest to submit a review that they might not had bothered doing in the past. Also, as we are relatively new owners of the Berkeley, we encourage our guests to submit reviews as we like to know what we are doing right or wrong. People say they depend of things like Trip Advisor reviews but dont bother doing a review themselves. Hope this answers your question. Regards Mal

Hi Craig, Parking is on the road outside as seen in the photos from the windows. There are no restrictions and it is free. Its a matter of finding a space which come available all the time if you dont get one when you arrive. The 4 poster room can be pre-booked either on line or by ringing us direct. If booking for more than 3 days, ring direct as on line booking sites dont give any discounts available and take a commission payment.
