The Telford Madeley Court Hotel is one of few hotels steeped in so much history. It offers the ambiance of a beautiful 16th-century manor house with parts of the hotel dating as far back as the 13th century, together with all the facilities you'd expect of a modern hotel. You can relax in the stunning conservatory bar overlooking the lake, take a walk around the walled gardens or just settle down in the library. The hotel can be easily reached from junction 4 of the M54 and is only 4 miles from Telford Railway Station.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had put a deposit down for an event which was cancelled due to Covid. We were assured our deposit would be returned on January 2022. As of today. May 1st, still no deposit, despite multiple assurances it was being processed. The manager is never available, always promised he will return calls, and not once had call returned. Staff, though helpful cannot tell me what their complaints policy is or their head office telephone number. Disappointing as the venue is nice, but we would never again use them or recommend them because of such poor service.

Gorgeous place to go and visit. Would definitely recommend to anybody who asks for a hidden gem in Telford! Polite, welcoming staff - just as it should be! Was very very very impressed and will be coming again

An absolute shambles of an establishment!!!! No communication, no support, call almost 4 weeks before the wedding to tell us we can't use the accommodation for our wedding. Stay in the mill for the whole day, our guests separated from the main hotel by a sheet, later cover by fake ivy! We had two days to change the venue of our wedding before we lost everything booked for that day. Any help or support? No, not even a refund of the monies we had paid!!! Withheld our money until 4 days before our wedding!! I had to call, message daily, no one would reply. Threated legal action and finally managed to get a refund 4 days before our wedding date. No apologises, no communication furthermore even though we had to pay a considerable amount because of this hotel and the way they treat guests. Our guests still haven't been informed that their stay was cancelled 4 weeks after the planned wedding date. The place should be shut down!!!

Wouldn’t recommended this hotel. We refused to stay at this property on the 28th May 2021. Prior to booking we contacted the hotel directly to ask if the superior room we were looking to book was a four poster room, as the photos show these plus other rooms which is very misleading. The night manager Gareth, insisted it was. We proceeded to book the room for bed with breakfast for two nights as a post wedding mini-moon for us. We then messaged the hotel to confirm this. We had a reply from Nina, the GM to say that it wasn’t a four poster room, but they would put us in one of their historical rooms, the “Gallery” which had a canopy

We booked a last minute night away and were stunned to discover this wonderful hotel that we have now termed "Our special place". From the impressive winding drive, and the first sight of the Manor House in the afternoon sun we were wowed. In places it is looking somewhat tired. Marks and patches on the walls and skirting boards and some of the decor needs brightening, also there is a distinct lack of reachable plug sockets for todays electronic gadgetry, but it must be a heck of a place to keep up to date. We were allocated an outside room because we requested to bring a dog. The web-site states no pets but this isn't the case so it is worth enquiring further. Thank you Atlanta x The menu for evening meals was quite limited, 6 dishes but 3 of which were curries. However the food was good and breakfast the next morning plentiful. The dining room looked lovely but as we were after a more casual experience we opted to eat in the bar area, small and comfortable with wonderful lake views. The experience hampered by the tables being too tall for the chairs though to make eating difficult so we carried our meal outside to the patio table. We loved the character and quirkiness of the place and the grounds and walkways were ideal for dog walks, although an abundance of nettles made them a little painful in places. We will definitely go back and hope that as restrictions lift fully more time is given to the upkeep and service.

We were due to stay on the 4th September but we were refunded as the hotel cancelled our booking with less than a weeks notice, no explanation until we contacted them which demonstrated absolutely no customer service. If this plays reopens we will certainly avoid in the future.

Well what can we say! One word – GUTTED! Yesterday we received a telephone call to say that we cannot have the wedding we planned for on the 30 October at THE MADELEY COURT HOTEL in TELFORD. And why???? The Government have requisitioned the hotel! So the owners must have received a whopping great offer financially to accept it and devastate the dreams of many couples who had planned to marry there and with no offer of compensation for all the plans that have been put in place, things that have been paid for and for the emotional turmoil. No use of the actual hotel, restricted wedding photos only in a certain area, no onsite bedrooms for the guests and do you really think that offering the Mill is an acceptable offer when couples and guests had planned the use of the whole hotel? To celebrate the wedding, use the bar and stay over? Would you accept it if you had planned your dream wedding? I doubt it very much. We have cried today with frustration, anger and disappointment because we were looking forward to our wedding at the hotel and Amy has been amazing. But you have destroyed our dream and you have offered nothing only the return of our deposit. Unbelievable that money has been put before the feelings of people, but you know what! I am sure that there are a lot of couples who are just as angry and devastated as us and we would love you to print this to let others know that they are not alone with their emotions.

The main central part of the hotel was a lovely old manor house with a gate house at the front. The dining room is 'baronial' style with a large, wrought iron circular chandelier and huge fireplace with large picture above. We were in the modern 'add on' part of the hotel in room 30 which looks out onto the end of a roof section so not much 'view'. It was clean and quite large. Only 2 tea bags and 4 milk cartons on the tea try and would have liked more. No fridge or phone in the room. Had a large bathtub, which was as well as we couldn't get the shower to run warm. When I told reception they aplogised and said they'd get it seen to, Not a problem for me as I don't mind having a bath. Dinner was OK. No pate available which was our first choice. Smoked salmon came served with plain bread and 'Flora' packs, maybe some people don't want spread, but I'd have preferred buttered bread. Also had to request lemon and black pepper which were brought. My steak was good. Bottle of merlot was a reasonable £21. Cooked breakfasts the next morning were excellent. Don't miss seeing the lake out the back which you access via the bar area. We were on an inclusive deal so felt it was good value overall.

My husband and I stayed for a one night stay, care of Woucher, the driveway was in need of repairs and a sign for the car park would have been beneficial. Our room was in the Gatehouse and historically this was amazing! Clean room but there was a lampshade missing, not a hangable offence but it set up what we were to find with the rest of the hotel. Garden chairs were unravelling, there was litter and a sense of a building being unloved. Such a shame as the building could be amazing with a bit of money and attention given to it.. the staff were overworked, due to the pingdemic! But they were always friendly and professional.. fantastic place with so much potential but was just falling short.. however it was lovely to escape being ‘parents’ for the day and the breakfast was really good.
