Warm friendly welcome. Very clean and well cared for pub. Good home cooked sunday lunch. Nice choice of meats and a good sized portion. Nice thick gravy. Lovely homemade pudding. At just under £25.00 for 2 adults 2 drinks 2 mains and 2 puddings total value for money.

We stayed Saturday night after a gin festival. The Landlady was lovely and really helpful. The locals were really friendly and all made us feel very welcome. Room was comfortable and breakfast perfect. Thank you very much! A proper pub!

A very pleasant 'local' place to have that traditional Sunday carvery followed by walk home and slumbers.. A pint of Atlantic was under £3 and a wine about £3 so good value there: the carvery cost £6.50 per head with a generous amount of beef ( though somewhat overcooked but still tender). They need to get some horseradish sauce! Nice girls serving with a smile. And a great sweet - chocolate fudge cake and ice cream for just £3.

Called for drinks only after an absence of of 40 years. Far better than how I remember it. Very comfortable with great beer and very friendly staff. Should have been back a long time ago. Get yourself there.

The Cosmopolitan is a real old fashioned and comfortable hotel, not trendy but better for that. Our room was perfect with a sea view, the breakfast large and tasty and Jane and Tim could not have been more genuine and welcoming. We stayed for two nights in mid winter and found our room to be warm, cosy and comfortable with tea making facilities and shower. It is situated close to the sea and the historic St Hildas church and the Headlands pier and beautiful beaches are an easy walk away. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We went to a Christening tea, buffet which was excellent, made up of the usual pies, sandwiches and savouries .Also on the menu were hot beef buns which were very good made better with chips or mash and jugs of hot gravy. The cherry on the cake was hot Yorkshire puddings filled with roast beef and onion followed by assorted cakes. All in all an excellent day. Those who had a bit too much to drink booked in for bed and breakfast which they told me was a great finish to the weekend.

Popped in for a hour as me and the family were exploring the Picturesque Headland at Hartlepool. The landlady was very lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her, very nice place to have a drink and some very friendly and chatty locals. Will visit next time on a sunday and try their lunches.
