My Friends and I had the most perfect stay at Altonlea Lodge, the minute you’re greeted at the door by Lee ( Owner) you feel yourself relax.
The layout is well thought-out with parking, a beautiful garden and a very handy kitchenette for guest use and we felt very safe with regards to covid rules.
Everything was spotlessly clean with most comfiest beds we had ever slept in, breakfast was also freshly prepared with vegetarians catered for… very delicious ! Lee and his family made us feel incredibly welcome and nothing was too much bother.
I cannot recommend Altonlea highly enough.

10/10 for this lovely family run B&B. Prime location on the seafront close to bars, restaurants etc. Our twin room was spacious, very clean and well appointed & cleaned daily. Not many 5 star hotels offer free wifi and cable (apple) tv in rooms, and secure off-street parking. Ample supplies of coffee/tea etc. All facilities you could want . We stayed 2 wet windy cold nights late Sept, but I imagine that the well tended garden and sun terrace are lovely to sit out in summer. Website photo's are accurate. A previous guest( presumably in the hot summer) had turned off the radiator, a quick call to Lee and he promptly delivered an electric radiator till he could rectify the situation. Breakfast is top quality, cooked to order not kept warm on a hotplate, and perfectly cooked/presented. Excellent value overall, thoroughly recommended. Will stay again if in the Hartlepool area.

Myself and my partner have stayed at Altonlea Lodge for the last 3wks as we were attending a course, I can truly say we have been made very welcome, Lee's hosting and cooking skills are the best, nothing has been too much trouble always accommodating, he was ready to serve us breakfast every morning at 6.15am. It's a home from home and we would not hesitate to rebook here if we visited again, rooms are cleaned to a high standard every day and the beds are very comfortable I dont think you could ask for nothing more.

Thank you so much for giving us a welcoming, relaxing time at Altonlea Lodge

Very comfortable ground floor room with attention to detail, I loved the soft cotton sheets .
They addressed the CV 19 breakfast very well indeed. It is in a seafront position with a large grassed
common to the front. My wife would have loved it.

Have been to the altonlea guest house on many occasions, Lee and the staff are open and friendly, the rooms are extremely good. There is a secure parking lot out back. It's quiet with the beach which is 100yds away parking permits are available for on street parking. The breakfasts are always piping hot and extremely well cooked.

We were greeted by smiling Lee at the start or the visit, who guided us through the huge and very lovely guest house to our large, very clean and Covid-date accommodation. The garden is stunning and it’s very peaceful there at night. Breakfast in the morning was again as good as it gets - ordered what we wanted from a large range and all made on the spot with lovely aesthetic twists. We moved on further North after the stay in Seaton to York and the Hilton. Can honestly say that our stay at Altonlea was a far better experience, with higher and personal quality of service. Easy recommend and will be staying there next time we pass through.

I have been fortunate to stay in this beautiful guest lodge for 8 weeks whilst I had a property renovated and I can honestly say I haven’t never ever stayed anywhere nicer. The guest lodge itself is beautiful but it is the people who own it and and work here that make it so special. They really do go that extra mile to make everyone so welcome and nothing is ever too much trouble. The breakfasts are amazing thanks to Lee. The menu choice is vast but Lee will always adapt the menu to meet your choice, and not only is it cooked to perfection but beautifully presented. I have had a great number of friends visit me during my time staying here and all my friends have been very impressed with Altonlea. In fact a number of them from out if the area have said they would like to stay here in the future for little holiday.
I had no idea that this peaceful haven was here until I looked for somewhere to stay but I’m so so grateful to Lee, Olwen, Tony, Janet and Sheila for their kindness and support through some difficult months. If you are looking for somewhere to stay look no further!

Thanks to Lee and staff at the altonlea for making my stay enjoyable. The rooms are fresh and clean, beds made daily, along with drink facilities being replenished.
Thanks to Lee for the full English breakfasts each morning, there is also an excellent selection of cereals etc should you prefer a lighter breakfast.
Can’t praise this b’n’b enough, if you need somewhere to stay, this has to be top of your list.

This is an excellent guesthouse in every way. The staff are kind and caring, and genuinely interested in their customers. The rooms are clean and comfortable with lovely white sheets and towels. The breakfast is excellent with a great choice. The small dining room is intimate and was a good place to have conversation with other interesting guests at the breakfast table. The front overlooks the Green at Seaton Carew and the rear is enclosed and leads to an extension with additional rooms. There is also a small mini kitchen in which takeaway meals can be eaten, or microwave meals heated. The garden has a grass lawn, sheltered seating and a small pond with constant water running creating a relaxed atmosphere. There is also a guest lounge which I didn’t use.

If you are looking for a clean friendly place to stay whilst in the area, look no further.

From the very friendly welcome through to the helpful assistance offered for my delayed departure, I found this place to be at the top of other similar places I have stayed at in the past.

Ideally placed for visiting the beach and local amenities, you will struggle to find a better place in the area.

The freshly cooked full English breakfast is excellent and you will definitely need a stroll along the sea front afterwards.

Fully recommend staying here. I definitely will be on my next visit.
