A great place to step back in time and this is not a positive thing. The place is in a lovely area of Aberdovery, allow dogs with good pubs and the beach. Unfortunately the place we are in is well overdue an update, the WiFi is frustrating pointless.

Dear Brent and Diane It was lovely to welcome you all back again, one of many times and almost wholly to Southward. As you will know over recent years Southward has seen significant refurbishment including completely new bath and shower rooms, the latter of which having an on the level large walk-in shower. New dining and lounge furniture and soft furnishings, outside furniture, though we have retained the cane chair that is in the lounge window our older guests enjoy using. All our guests (including those staying in Southward) continue to enjoy our perfect location in Aberdovey, our amazing sea views, our peaceful setting regardless of the time of year in our private and child safe grounds and one of us being on hand 24/7; in addition to these instigating dedicated parking spaces and improving our indoor and outdoor facilities have added a lot to the enjoyment of our guests stay. For 2023 in Southward we have replaced the gas boiler with a new combi. We also have just replaced the TV with a new 43” Smart TV. Hillside Village provides comfortable accommodation, spacious and practical for families and dog owners, that you can truly relax in and are prepared to a high standard by our own housekeeping team. Our website shows clearly what Southward is like https://www.hillsidevillage.co.uk/b1-southward. Southward has a large gated terrace and is very popular with our dog owning guests. Just looking at the feedback from our guests, they love the properties and the grounds and as you do, many comeback time and time again. In particular they appreciate the 70s design where the picture windows make the most of the panoramic sea views. We are in the process of putting smart TVs in all the properties, now that we can offer really good Wi-Fi connection. This is due in the last six months to 5G becoming available from an EE mobile transmitter in direct line of sight across the estuary. This has transformed what has been possible to provide using our BT landline connection. Last month after testing the 5G provision we have had in place four 5G hubs in addition to our superfast broadband network. It was consequently surprising and disappointing to have your review of the Wi-Fi connection you were experiencing. We only learnt of the trouble you were having on Thursday, the day before you left. We tested the Wi-Fi and could not re-create the issue that you were experiencing, the Wi-Fi connection was good. We also checked with guests in Eastward and Westward immediately adjacent to you and sharing connections with you. They had not experienced any issues with the Wi-Fi during their stay. All the rooms in Southward after you left on Friday were experiencing good connection. We also have checked with guests that have been staying since Friday in Southward, Eastward and Westward, they say the Wi-Fi is good, ie no issues in connecting. We really wish that you had reported the issue when you first experienced it, rather than placing this review, clearly out of frustration. We dropped round a couple of times on Thursday and left a voicemail message hoping that we could see what you were experiencing and assist you in addressing it, sorry to have missed you. We do acknowledge that the Wi-Fi provision in the past has been challenging to provide due to our rural location, particularly at peak periods and have shared the bandwidth we have between all guests, however the situation is now completely different with the new EE 5G transmitter, and more on the way from other networks, the additional four 5G hubs, to which we have the potential to add to as necessary and or adjust their positioning to achieve the optimal Wi-Fi provision. Please remember for your next visit, there is always one of us around to help ensure your and all our guests stays are enjoyable as can be; this is part of the holiday experience of staying at Aberdovey Hillside Village that makes it special. We Have just come Home from a week away as a family of 5 I would thoroughly recommend. Accommodations have fabulous views over the sea, all very clean with clean equipment. Very spacious. The children loved the games rooms that were available and staff are very friendly and accommodating. Very near to lovely restaurants and pubs and great ice cream shops. Had a dishwasher with dishwasher tablets and tea towels and washing up liquid. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Initially difficult to find the apartment from town by car, but when we did we were greeted by friendly staff. We stayed in Cader, which we did feel was dated and in need of a refurbishment, but the views from every window are amazing. We were lucky to have sunshine so enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking across the estuary. The apartments are very dog friendly and in a great location just a short walk from town but beware of the hill on the way back!

We have a variety of properties for our guest to stay in, Cader is one of our Cottage style properties, its design has a seventies feel, which we have tried to respect. We appreciate that you may feel that it consequently has a dated feel, many of our guests love the style of Cader, it could be that one of our other properties could have suited better, for a couple Kestrel could be the one for you! Yes we are very well located at the heart of Aberdovey just a short walk from the shops restaurants and pubs and not least the beaches! Being that little bit above the sea front, allow our guests to enjoy amazing panoramic views and the peaceful haven which Hillside Village is. Look forward to welcoming you all back soon!

Fantastic place!! we stayed in Porpoise, it is a very spacious accommodation and has beautiful views. The apartment and the grounds are very well presented, a lovely place for a relaxing holiday. We took my 92 year old mother with us and the apartment met all her needs. We didn't need any equipment but bathroom equipment is available to borrow/hire if required, this is a wonderful thing to offer for those less able. Thanks to all staff who work hard to make holidays there mose enjoyable 😁

Being able to accommodate those with limited mobility is one of the things that guests really appreciate about staying with us. We have several properties that are particularly well suited like Porpoise. Our everchanging views allow our guests to relax and soak them in, it was something that your mum particularly enjoyed, every moment is never the same. Really great apartment. Well equipped and clean. We stayed in Kestrel, views are incredible. Easy walk into village. Check in was smooth, staff great. Our dog was made very welcome with a bowl of treats and blanket. Great location. Highly recommended

Lovely beach - shame about the village. Nothing much there and very poor selection of cafes/restaurants. Many too small for four adults and baby (and up steps). We chose Coast Deli and Dining but it was so hot and cramped and they took 20 minutes just to take the order. We only ordered coffee and Welsh rarebit (glorified cheese on toast!!) and after our second coffee and an hour of waiting we gave up. Instead of an apology, they were most rude and told us not to return - as if we would!!! Not impressed and not recommended.

Booked fairly late and absolutely outstanding. Apartment was brilliant. A couple of minor IT issues on arrival immediately solved by the staff on site. Superb views and facilities. I would highly recommended it. Myself and my wife also took our 5 year old granddaughter who loved it also.

Just back from a weeks stay in Osprey apartment, very clean and well equipped. Welcome pack for Buster our dog. Welcome pack for us a little disappointing. Lovely views across the estuary. Great beach to take the dog on too. Fabulous fish platter to share in Coast Deli & Dining would highly recommend.
