I would not recommend this to people unfortunately. We got married here recently and although the night itself was great and the staff and food on the day were pretty good we still arent very satisfied overall with the Hotel. Just a few of the things that we noticed: -They advertised (and are still advertising) a very attractive wedding package for great value yet when we showed interest they said that offer is no longer available and we had to choose the package at about double the price. It feels like they are advertising the 'to good to be true' package to get couples interested then they can switch it to a more expensive package once people are planning to use the hotel. They are still advertising this cheap package to this day, 6 months after they said they are no longer doing it. -in the the run up to the wedding, we had to chase the hotel and enquire about everything such as food, menus, vegan food, drinks, desserts, music, seatings, timings etc - the hotel did not put any of this to us and probe us for information, we had to it all ourselves. There was no one from the hotel reaching out to us to query us for specifics or how we wanted the day to be, we had to come up with everything and then tell them. -When government covid restrictions came into place the hotel said they would not refund our money and when international guests or local guests unfortunately had to pull out due to new rules, the hotel wouldnt refund a penny despite us ringing within minutes of paying to ask for a refund on a few people, they wouldnt refund the money (a few guests had to cancel a few minutes after we paid the hotel unfortunately) - as the hotel wouldnt refund for any of the guests who had to cancel, we asked that the people who couldnt attend's food be given to other people who did attend as extra but this was not done. We had paid alot of money for this food and we had explicitly asked the hotel to still serve their food but they did not - we seen the staff chucking out glasses of champagne that we paid for, yet they could have offered these glasses to people who were there and who wanted them -when myself and my wife arrived at the hotel there was no real welcome for us, no doors held open or champagne handed, we had to hold the heavy doors open ourselves and try squeeze the wedding dress in through the doors -the bridal suite room itself looked good but was pretty tacky for example the taps in the bathroom fell off under the slightest bit of pressure -the hotel for some reason decided not to serve the £300 cake we bought so that practically went to waste. We had indicated throughout that ofcourse we want it served which is why we got a cake that would serve 100 people. the morning after the wedding we were given the full cake as they thought we wanted to keep it. Why would we want to keep it when we had chatted to them before about serving all the people. We did not notice on the night that the cake wasnt served as things were too busy. On the day after the wedding my wife and I were left with a huge £300 cake that practically went to waste - yes, we did try to eat it but we didnt want it and we were only eating it for the sake of it to try to use it before it went out of date, which was a huge waste of money -we tried to follow up with the hotel by emailing them but they have ignored us since the wedding and have not responded to us, 3 weeks later, yet when we emailed them before about choosing them for our wedding they were responding all the time. generally the quality of service from the hotel seems to have gone down over the last few years, as locals we have used it a few times and it used to be great. We live in bangor and wont go near the place again for anything. they are still advertising the great wedding package online and on brochures yet when we were showing interest in them they said the package is not available any more seems fraudulent or dishonest from them so they can get people's interest and when the people have considered the hotel then the hotel will tell them the package isnt available any more. The hotel also said that guests of our wedding would get a discounted rate at staying overnight but they wouldnt tell us how much (£ / % ) discount for some reason so we dont know what was going on

I stayed here with 2 friends on New Years Eve as we were attending their Abba tribute night. The show itself was great and the room set up was really well done. However, that’s were the positives end. The service was abysmal!! The function room was full and there was only a handful of staff working. We ordered our drinks at 7pm and they arrived at the table just before 8pm! There was cutlery missing, cold chicken strips as starters and 9.30pm came and we still hadn’t been served our mains. We ordered a bottle of wine which was called Chrystal on the menu. We asked whether this was prosecco and asked about the % as we had not heard of it before. The waitress has assured us it was just prosecco and was normal alcohol %. It arrived at the table and we noticed it was only 5%. Not a huge issue but at £19 it was not what we expected. There was a whole issue around getting a refund and we had to ask several members of staff to chase it up. The service really was one of the worst I’ve experienced. Others around us were also complaining about the slowness. Obviously it was not the staffs fault as there were not enough people working - poor management. The food itself was not great. Cold chicken strips to start which had no sauce or flavouring, literally 3 chicken strips on spinach. The main (roast beef) was nothing special and the seasonal veg to go with it was simply a bowl of veg plonked in the middle of the table for everyone to share. The room (a triple room with 3 single beds) was extremely outdated and dirty (photos attached). The carpets in the corridors were stained and filthy. This is not a cheap hotel either so I expected a lot more. I would never stay here again, the photos say it all really.

Cancelled weddings, cancelled receptions. Putting greed before people. Will never book here again due to the secrecy and the down right lies. A lot of people feel the same. Sneaking people in without consultation is disgraceful.

I booked this hotel for a Friday to Sunday stay for my Girlfriend's birthday. On arrival, everything was pleasant and we got checked in ok. When we got to the room everything was a little dated. Mahogany furniture, badly discoloured sockets and switches. The room was different to what I booked as we wanted a sofa, but there was a table with two chairs in the room, and it definitely wasn't weather for sitting with the balcony doors open. I let it be anyway, as it wasn't important. I noticed we were in an adjoining room with a door, a door with the tiniest bolt you'd ever see. Like literally if anyone wanted to get into the room from the adjacent room, they wouldn't have much trouble. So, I put our belongings against it with the table and let that be too. The balcony door windows hadn't been washed in ever. The balcony hadn't been painted in ever either, it was really starting to let the room down badly. During the night there was a bit of a storm, which we heard through the very draughty doors. When I say draughty, I mean the curtains moved with the wind and the room was becoming very cold. The bathroom was badly aged, everything was off white and most of the metal work tarnished. The bath panel had a large gap down the end of it where it met the wall, the soil pipe casing at the back of the toilet was the same, and to top it all off, the toilet was leaking, which was causing the tiles around the toilet floor to go boast and lift up. God knows how many specimens of urine and excrement there was soaking up through the tile grout. This was all on the Friday, which prompted me to go online a price how much the Premier Inn up the road was. The Marine Court cost me £320 for a balcony room, and a room in the Premier Inn for the exact same days was £220. It cost me a £100 more for what I can describe as Faulty Towers. Yes, I did have a balcony, yes, I did have a view of the marina, but by God it wasn't worth it one bit. It was the sort of room I'd normally pay £120 for two nights in Donegal or Galway from Groupon. If I'd have paid £120 for the both nights, I'd have had nothing to complain about, but paying £100 more than the Premier Inn for something that kept us awake and cold doesn't reflect the price. The Marine Court wouldn't touch the Premier Inn for comfort, cleanliness and ambiance, and they charged £50 a night more for it. I'll not be back near it, especially at the price I paid. Maybe £60-80 a night, but absolutely not worth the £160 I paid. It’s left a sour taste in my mouth.

Stayed here with my 3 dogs recently. The staff were so friendly to us and couldnt do enough to make our stay as pleasent as possible. I did not want to leave my dogs alone in the room so the restaurant staff brought up dinner and breakfast to the room. On arrival they had a lovely dog bed, treats and bowls waiting for the furbabies. They put our room away from the rest of the hotel so it was peaceful and quiet and myself and my dogs were not disturbed by other guests talking in corridors. Highly recommend as a pet friendly hotel!!

My wife and I (plus our 2 dogs) stayed here for 2 nights and our 2 friends (plus 4 dogs) stayed for 1 night. We chose the Marine Court as it is doggy friendly. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful especially towards the dogs. No issues with walking the dogs through hotel and into the lift. We had a large room which as very clean and a large comfortable bed. While the hotel decor is dated and the hotel could do with modernisation it does offer a nice cosy atmosphere. Breakfast was descent with buffet option and cooked breakfast. Our package included an evening meal which was good though no vegan options (our friend is vegan). We had a few drinks in hotel bar both nights which is a nice bar.

Stayed here for our 5th anniversary. Never been before so thought it would be somewhere nice for a change…well wasn’t I wrong. Room was cold as they have the radiators turned off. Really outdated could do with a serious facelift. The poor girl on reception who was lovely was under a lot of pressure being on her own. Breakfast very limited…warm milk for cereal and the yogurts were not chilled either. Only fruit available was bananas. 1 girl was lovely other not so friendly. So thankful we had booked dinner out both nights. Wouldn’t recommend wasn’t worth the money we paid.
