We enjoyed the beautiful views, comfortable surroundings, and customer service at the Cairn Bay Lodge. The breakfasts were creative and delicious, with local fresh ingredients and options for all kinds of tastes. We took advantage of the inn's great location to walk along the bay as well as into town. The train station is just a 10 minute walk, allowing...

Booked to stay here with my boyfriend for his birthday and emailed when I booked it to say that it was an occasion etc. and I was told we'd get a nice room. Turned up, checked in and we get a room with a view of a lovely fire escape, the shower was also like standing under a tap. Was...

Cairn Bay is a lovely house right on the beach at Ballyholme. You will get a friendly greeting from the owners and all of the staff are great - friendly and attentive. The big feature of Cairn Bay is the breakfast. A wide range including vegetarian options and eggs benedict with smoked salmon. Breads are first rate. Good tea and...

I have been here several times and absolutely loved it. The food is great, the setting is awesome and the staff have always been lovely, particularly the maltese waiter. Today was horrendous, we were seated at a dirty table by a sullen waitress, she said she would come straight back and clean it, 20 mins later we were still sitting...

I think that my title of this review sums up my view of it. I don't expect other people to agree with me. This place is overpriced and overrated. I won't be back. Stop calling all your customers "guys". There are those of us who still have a regard for the English language, without it's awful American adulterations. Please speak...

This was my first stay in a guesthouse for many years, and what a very different experience it was - from the friendly welcome to the minute I left! I didn't get a sea view, but my room was very comfortable and uniquely furnished. The products in the bathroom are gorgeous and the food for breakfast is fantastic. I will...

This place is incredible. The whole house is decorated in an anglo-saxon style, but mixing old and a modern in a very tastful and discreet way. Each room is completely different. The breakfast is really original and really good. You have all the services: wifi, tv, speaker for ipad or ipod, coffee and water in the rooms. The host are...

This is a place I've intended to try for some time now and I finally got the opportunity. The bonus was the lovely sunny morning, enjoying a great view over ballyholme bay from a table at the window. The food (let's face it, the main reason for the visit) was fantastic. I had one of the specials, crab meat on...

Great breakfast menu. Good quality produce all beautifully cooked except bacon. I wondered if had been pre cooked and warmed up. Coffee top ups a bonus. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. Will definitely try again.

Just returned from our first visit here. It's a real find. We were made so welcome by the lovely girls each one made us very welcome. Food was fabulous and the view stunning. We will return regularly now. It's somewhere different away from the usual hectic cafés. Beautiful decor. Cannot recommend highly enough.
