Nice place , nice host and the the food is top class with a good variety of country classics, including pheasant and Rabbit on the menu, can't fault the place , just right for a chilly winters day to find a roaring log fire in the grate and some good beers as well.

This is an interesting one as there's no doubt that the food is better than other offerings in the area, but we still wouldn't go back. Mains were closer to £20 than we would have liked, even though the pork belly was excellent - more restaurant prices than pub. The decor is...different with hundreds of ornaments (my mum would cal... Visited this pub on recommendation. Landlady attentive, maybe too much so until her locals arrived. Waiting staff lovely and very efficient. Rather expensive for what we had. Small portions and non flexible with veg choice. Only visiting the area so won't be going back.

We had been told that the Rose and Crown had been updated and when we went we were pleasantly surprise by such good fare. There was a warm welcome and good selection of quality beers and a wide menu choice. The presentation was clean and appetizing and the quality was good. We will be returning

This was a diamond wedding celebration and the diamonds shone from the moment the party of 30 entered The Rose and Crown! What a welcome and what AMAZING food I have NEVER had such quality food served at one sitting to so many people. Quality,is the important word as clearly all of the produce was fresh, the best quality and... More

The decor of the pub is true 1970s and in desperate need of a refurbishment but do not be put off. A combination of things made it a great evening for our family of 7 aged between 9 and 86. We were welcomed by the eccentric landlady who took a bit of getting used to! She is slightly bonkers but... More

Driven past loads of times but not stopped before. I didn't know what we had been missing. We just dropped in on bank-holiday Monday on the off-chance and I have to say that it was a very happy find. The staff were welcoming and the food very good indeed. We were lucky to visit on a sunny day and the... More

We went to the Rose & Crown for the first time on Saturday for my husband's birthday, a party of five including two young children. The hosts were very accommodating of the children. The interior is as cosy as you could want a pub to be, nicely decorated, log fires (on a breezy August day!) The views were worth taking... More
