We followed the landlady and chef from the Hanging Gate. I watched them develop the Rose and Crown over a long time and was looking forward to eating there. Not suprisingly the food and atmosphere is great. They have good beers on and the food is of a high standard. We've eaten here a few times now and it's always...

After a boozy hen weekend we were looking for somewhere to have sunday lunch. They just managed to squeeze us in as it was very busy for food. We can now see why it was so busy. The food was amazing, freshly cooked and the local meats tasted really good. Just what we all needed. Thank you.

We had been for a snowy walk and at around 4.00pm we called at the Rose & Crown hoping that food would be available as we were cold & hungry. It was our first visit & when we walked in it was so cosy! Open fires, warm & like walking into a house not pub.We were warmly welcomed & seated...

Luda is a great host and Ian is a top chef. The food here is really good - homemade bread delicious soup - no sandwiches or lunch options as such but plenty of starters you can have with chips. Large selection of mains to choose from if you're here for dinner. It's a little out of the way but really...

My name is Sam but I like to be called Jeff and I am 8 years old. My mum and dad brought me here for my tea today (Sunday 18th Dec). I think that the Rose and Crown is the best pub I have ever been to for tea. My old favourite was The Three Horseshoes near Tittesworth Park but...

We were on our way home from a Wedding and unknown to the area, we just wanted to stop somewhere on the way back for lunch. We where on the A54 going towards Congleton only 15 minutes away from Buxton when we noticed the pub sign saying fine food. Are we sooo pleased we stopped. After being made very welcome...

Nice place , nice host and the the food is top class with a good variety of country classics, including pheasant and Rabbit on the menu, can't fault the place , just right for a chilly winters day to find a roaring log fire in the grate and some good beers as well.

This is an interesting one as there's no doubt that the food is better than other offerings in the area, but we still wouldn't go back. Mains were closer to £20 than we would have liked, even though the pork belly was excellent - more restaurant prices than pub. The decor is...different with hundreds of ornaments (my mum would cal...
