This is the first time i have ever placed a review of any kind but myself and my family (7adults 3 children) have just returned home from a holiday at Bush Nook Farmhouse. The emotion we all felt leaving that building, I just had to write something to help ensure others have the amazing experience we have just had.
Firstly the host, Malcolm, who greeted us with his friendly, warm and helpful manner. This manner never changed throughout the week even to the point where he differed the temperatures of the hot tubs so the children could cool down after day in hot sun. Malcolm has managed to perfect the art,as host,to be friendly and informative but not invasive.
Now we move to the house itself, it is hard to know where to start but the space is the first that springs to mind. This house provides a group with space to be together but also the space to do enjoy time alone. Dining together on a huge table overlooking garden views, too the honesty bar room with comfy chairs to read or play cards. The Bedrooms are large and each of the rooms have ensuites. The kitchen has enough equipment to make any meal and we had no worries around enough glasses or cultery etc.
A beautiful conservatory with log burner (all logs provided) lead out to our favourite place the garden. Two hot tubs (sit 4 in each)with amazing views of rolling countryside and Gilsland below. The jacuzzi hot tub under the canopy with twinkling lights was the place where we ended most of out days. So if you are looking for a holiday or a place to celebrate with friends/family that provides peace and quiet, space, cleanliness, scenery and still close enough to amenties then consider Bush Nook Farm.

Thank you Malcolm and thank you Bush Nook, until the next time!!!!!!!

We would highly recommend anyone to stay at Bushnook. From the moment we arrived, the host was warm, welcoming and couldn't do enough to make our stay lovely and comfortable. He made us feel completely at home, including recommending a fantastic restaurant and going out of his way to book it for us. The accommodation was clean, well equipped and had a rustic charm. If you wanted something, it was available, including the honesty bar and board games. The garden was well maintained and dog proofed, allowing our little dog to enjoy her holiday as much as we did. Our personal highlight was the hot tub with breathtaking views of the countryside. Our dog was accommodated for fantastically.
All around, I could not recommend this place enough and would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the hosts for making our stay so memorable.

We celebrated our wedding at mBush nook guest house on the 17th August 2019

We where very grateful Malcolm agreed to let us hire the guest house for 3 nights, as our wedding venue for our special day, as this was not something that he had done before.

Malcolm aloud us to customise the venue to our unique taste and also helped us set up and then clear up after the wonderful day.

We will be looking to book this grate place again for our anniversary along with a few friends. There is a lovely local lady that helped with catering for our wedding that Is fab.

Where over 20 guests can be accommodated in self catering rooms, very spacious areas and good lighting for makeup and hair stations for getting ready.

We wanted something totally different and It was perfect for us, It’s was very different to your traditional wedding but all family and friends enjoyed the relaxed casual atmosphere, having the option of been indoors or out in the spacious garden, and the hot tubs where a great end to the day.

With great views for your photos and a lovely big garden, for your celebrations

We planned the wedding our selfs with very little stress and exactly how we wanted it 😃

If you are looking for something a little different I can not recommend here enough.

Why not Create your own wedding be your own wedding planner with help from close friends and family it was good fun getting everyone involved in creating our memories

Thanks Again

Mr & Mrs Leadbitter

Malcom was a fantastic host, the property was perfect for all 17 of us and a dog. Ideal for couples or families.
We stayed for four days and three nights, Malcom had stoked the hot tubs and fires for us and left plenty of wood to keep up going

Our long weekend stay at Bush Nook farm last weekend was one of the best we have had. Four generations of family aged 2ys - 79yrs, plus family dogs, relaxed and enjoyed this spacious accommodation and all it had to offer, especially the scenic views and homely feel to the place. We wined, dined, sang and enjoyed much needed family time together after the challenges of the pandemic that affected us all. We made memories, that we will treasure together as a family. Malcolm, our host could not do enough for us and his warm welcome and hospitality at the beginning of our staycation carried on until the end. If you're looking for a place to stay in a welcoming and spacious environment, which is well equipped for large groups and 3 hot tubs to relax in after a walk to Hadrians Wall and the surrounding countryside, this is the place to stay.

We hired the whole property for a family holiday of 11 adults and 4 children. The property itself is beautiful - rustic, spacious and clean. The bedrooms are large and beautifully furnished - each one with clean towels and guest robes provided. The grounds are lovely too, and the 3 hot tubs were a big hit with both the adults and kids. Malcolm is a fantastic host - he was there to greet us at the property early and gave us lots of information about the surrounding area and things to do. Would 100% recommend :)

Just spent 4 nights at Bush Nook Farm, 11 adults and 4 under 12's. Absolutely beautiful house and garden, everything spotless! Malcolm and family are wonderful hosts and so welcoming. The log burner in the conservatory was a big hit, so lovely on an evening. Some of the party became a bit obsessed with the industrial dishwasher, an absolute godsend when cleaning up after 15 people! Cannot recommend highly enough, and lots to do nearby, walking, boating and sightseeing at Hadrian's Wall.

Just returned from a fabulous weekend away with family and friends. We were a party of 12 celebrating a birthday and couldn’t have asked for anything more. The dining area is large enough to all get together for meals, whilst the living room and bar offer space for more intimate gatherings. The lean-to with the log burner is lovely and cosy and a wonderful space to sit and enjoy the views. The hot tubs and spa are perfect, again giving you lots of options. The majority of bedrooms are en-suite and have a variety of sleeping arrangements. The farmhouse has everything you need and more. Malcolm, can’t do enough for you and is always on hand. Perfect. Can’t wait to go back

Just came back from staying at bush nook farm, I don’t normally write reviews but the service that we received was excellent, we went for a surprise family reunion/wedding anniversary
Malcolm and his family are the perfect hosts the place is spot less, the family are friendly and will help you with anything that you need.
There is plenty of space for a large crowd, we only had 7 people but originally there would have been 12 but there would have been plenty of space for everyone if the all went. The grounds are lovely and with the added touch of the hot tubs just makes everything more special
There is plenty sites round about to enjoy or even just spend the whole time relaxing in bush nook

Went for three nights for my partners daughters 40th birthday celebration. 6 adults and 9 children ranging from 11 to 5 year old twins. The place is lovely with accommodation on two floors for I believe around 20 people. The Owner Malcolm and his wife are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble for them. Three excellent hot tubs and the house is very spacious and many things are provided such as all cutlery glasses etc. And there is a fantastic fire burner in the conservatory with all logs supplied. A spacious dining room to enjoy a more formal sit down meal as well as a decent sized lounge. Fantastic views of the Nothumberland/Cumbria border. There is a sloping ceiling in some upstairs rooms which may take a tad of getting used to especially if needing the loo in the dark.....but apart from that little foible this place is absolutely spot on.....
