We had a very pleasant stay. We were impressed with the obvious environmental consciences set-up. Bevit the heating, the packaging of food or the food choices themselves. A friendly welcome. Clean well thought out accommodation and the communal eating area is what getting out and walking this country is all about. And they welcome dogs, a British tradition that is becoming a rarity.
After a 40k hike from Bowness on Solway on our walk across Hadrian’s Wall we arrived with Rebeccas help at Florries. To call Florries a bunkhouse does not do it justice! Of course we slept in very comfortable bunks but the room with superb en-suite facilities was modern, clean and we lacked for nothing. The evening meal and breakfast (prepared by Joss) was exceptional. Can’t fault it. We will return
Part of an Intrepid tour group - we spent our first night of Hadrian's Wall hike at Florries - the accommodation was just what we needed, very clean, comfortable with a nice shower in the rooms. There are places to sit inside and outside with a small bar - a great place for small groups. The food was lovely and home cooked. Owners were really welcoming. Added bonus was the very cute Donkeys who appear at the window of your room in the morning to say Hi!
What a sight for aching limbs the Blue Bicycle is! A wonderful place to stay "On the Wall". The views from the garden have marvellous views and plenty of sore limb space to relax those limbs. The food is excellent, the rooms very comfortable, and Joss & Rebecca are both helpful and considerate hosts. What? No T.V.? Only if it isn't Love Island 😂😂 Thank you both and long may Florries flourish
Whilst doing Hadrians wall spent a night at this location. Great accomodation externally and internally. Clean and comfy and well though out. Great food and friendly family owned business. It was perfect
Well what can I say? Stayed here 1 night as a stop over from The Highlands to Home (Brighton) and wanted to see Hadrian's wall. I didn't expect much but was totally won over. The place was spotless! The staff amazing, the food was delicious, good hearty food. I regret not staying longer and would visit again in a heart beat.
I cannot heap enough praise on this amazing place! We loved everything about it and couldn't stop talking about the ambience, quality and facilities for the rest of our trip. The staff are truly wonderful. So friendly and attentive, their customer service is among the best I've ever experienced. The location is spot on for Haidrian's Wall walkers. A beautifully quiet and picturesque stop for a much needed rest. The room and bathroom are big, clean and comfortable. Much thought has been given to the layout of the rooms in terms of lights, sockets and storing gear. The decor is bright and welcoming and the food was not only hearty but delicious. They know exactly what walkers need! Thank you so much Florries! You made our trip and were the bar to which every other accomodation was measured. No other place came close!…
The best bunk house I have ever stayed in. Perfect location right on the Hadrian’s Wall path. Accommodation is stunning, food was spot on and a very welcoming host. Brilliant atmosphere to chat to other walkers. Fantastic value for money. Highly recommend.
Me and my son (aged 11) stayed here for one night while completing the Hadrian's Wall Path. It's an immaculate and beautiful place with the most friendly staff who couldn't be more welcoming. The food was incredible. I had an amazing lamb tagine for my evening meal and my son had lasagne. Pudding was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble and there was free tea and coffee throughout our stay. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here when walking the Wall again or just for a visit. I loved waking up to the most amazing view of the surrounding countryside and the local donkeys.
What a fantastic 1 night stay on my Hadrians Wall adventure. This was night 2 having come West from Carlisle & I/We couldn't of asked for a more friendlier, clean, welcoming experience. Arrived about 5pm & immediately felt relaxed having been shown around, & taken to our Bunk room. Modern, fresh, spacious & impeccable clean. Dinner was booked & OMG what a fantastic home cooked dinner it was from Mr Chef Josh. I had the blue cheese pasta washed down with a few beers from the bar... Oh & a delicious sticky toffee pudding. Really nice bar/dining/chill area, with a great selection of IPAs, Wine, Beers n Spirits so you can unwind & relax, chat after a great day's hiking. We were lucky as we popped to the Chapel micro brewery which is open only on a Fri/Sat night & literally 2 mins away. Breakfast was fantastic, the pre ordered packed lunch was a welcome bonus for a mere £3 it's a hearty bargain for the walk ahead. Overall I could not fault anything & above all the owners Rebecca & Josh are amazing. I'm glad I found this lil gem & if your doing the Wall Hike this place needs to be on your "Stay over" list. …
