Cabilla Manor is a spacious Georgian farmhouse on the edge of Bodmin Moor – right in the heart of Poldark country. A working farm surrounded by acres of woods and moorland. Horses from the Camargue in Southern France, and sheep and cattle are farmed. Built on the site of a Domesday manor, the present house is a listed building built in 1780 and 1820. Walks through the woods, across Bodmin Moor and along many footpaths are all close by. The home of the explorer Robin Hanbury-Tenison and his wife Louella, Cabilla Manor is full of interesting artefacts brought back from their travels. Newlyn school pictures, stencilled quilts and decoupage are in every room and a warm welcome is assured. Half an hour’s drive from both north and south coasts, the spectacular Cornish beaches and fishing villages, plus the many famous gardens of Cornwall, including the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the astonishing Eden Project are easily reached. Good local pubs, restaurants and pretty villages are all around and the house is comfortable with wonderful views. Louella is happy to provide dinner occasionally by prior arrangement. £50 per person. Terms Bed and Breakfast £55.00 to £65.00 per person per night. Rooms 2 double with own bathrooms. 1 other double room and a twin bedded room share one bathroom. Open All year except Christmas and New Year. Dinner By arrangement. £50.00 per person. Notes ○ Well behaved children welcome. ○ Dogs welcome, but not in the house. ○ Own transport and prior booking essential. ○ No smoking in the house. ○ Daily Housekeeping included with the rate ○ Tennis court. ○ Credit Cards not accepted.

Louella and Robin provided the warmest of welcomes on a very wintry weekend in December when I arrived from Canada for a wedding being held nearby. Tea and cakes upon arrival, drinks prior to driving a number of us to the wedding and picking us up afterwards, plus a walk around

Battered by hail and winds on Bodmin Moor, we couldn't have hoped for a warmer or more inviting sanctuary than Cabilla Manor. Louella and Robin were tirelessly attentive, providing drinks; hot water bottles; lifts to and from the wedding at which we were guests; and a

Thank you so much for such a nice review. It was a bitterly cold weekend and we did have issues with getting the heating up to full pitch, but once it got there everyone was fine. We loved having you here, and one of the nice spin offs of being so close to a successful wedding venue, is we tend to get guests staying who continue the party and all have mutual friends and relations. Come and stay again and see our new house. Best wishes, Robin and Louella

I booked Cabilla as I was attending a local wedding expecting a run of the mill B&B. Cabilla is so much more than that, with lovely welcoming hosts, a beautiful house in a stunning location. Louella even kindly arranged lifts too and from our wedding venue. I would highly

We stayed at Cabilla Manor for 8 nights with our twin 1 year olds and had the most fantastic stay. Right from the off Robin and Louella made us feel welcome and at home. Beautiful house and furnishings, stunning scenery, delicious breakfasts, we really could not fault anything,

You are so kind to have written such nice things. Your twins were completely adorable and I have never seen such a diverse and extensive wardrobe for two such tiny people. No wonder you have to have such a huge vehicle and vast boot to carry all their stuff! They were so good too. We love having children to stay and they certainly seemed to like all our toys. Do come and stay again. It would be fun to see them as they grow! Best wishes, Robin and Louella

We spent to two nights as Cabilla Manor to attend a wedding locally and what a fabulous home and location. The house is homely and full of interesting artifacts and books depicting Robin and Louella's love of travel but it goes much deeper than that. We stayed in the garden room
