Just had a delicious Carvery and desert at Lanhydrock hotel and golf club. My Husband has Coeliac disease and he was delighted with the way the Staff answered his questions and we're able to provide an excellent Gluten free meal.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your Sunday Lunch and how we dealt with your husband’s dietary needs. We are delighted to be back serving Carvery roasts again now that the colder weather is upon us. We look forward to seeing you as regular Sunday Carvery customers! Best wishes, Clare

What a coincidence that you called to speak to my husband about your recent experience here at Lanhydrock. I had just read your Trip Advisor feedback and happily returned your call. So sorry that you only got me! I now have the full picture which makes sense. You really wanted just a private room and not the full Celebration of life catering which you paid for on the day before the service. We do prefer to cater for these family gatherings by prior arrangement, which enables us to give a professional service. Your anticipated 40 guests were fed as requested and enjoyed plenty of freshly brewed tea and coffee, along with our Classic Buffet. Starched white linen and fresh bud vases dressed the tables and our balcony over-looking the golf course was all yours, along with a private bar service. I am sorry that you felt forced to have the food provided and also that we would not reduce the bedroom rates to your chosen budget. I do personally feel that your unfavourable and inaccurate rant on this website was uncalled for, but of course understand that this is a difficult time for you and your family and send you our best wishes. Kind regards, Clare

I was invited to Lanhydrock for a friend celebrating his birthday with eight others to stay the night and played two rounds of golf. We all enjoyed the quality of the golf course and the quality of the food and the service, both for the evening meal and for the excellent breakfast in the morning. The rooms were clean and very well appointed – I also use the gym at seven in the morning and was surprised at how well it was equipped… extensively! The general demeanour of the hotel, and the staff was relaxing and pleasurable. All very good value for money beckoning return visits.

How lovely to read this eloquent and positive review from a cheerful golfer of a certain age! I am so glad that you were able to enjoy our well equipped Fitness Suite before your second round of golf. It was a pleasure to host your group of sportsmen from nearby Devon and we do hope that you will return to Lanhydrock again soon. Your custom is appreciated as always. Best wishes, Clare x

Having booked here before we knew what to expect, and it didn’t disappoint, the twin room we had booked from Friday to Monday was clean, well furnished with tea and coffee making facilities and a view of the putting green so we could see who was to be feared on the course (not many to be honest). We use the venue as a base while wandering around Cornwall and then picking our mother up to take home from St Austell on the Monday. Bed was comfy and breakfast was superb with a choice of hot and cold food (toast, yogurt, fruit, pastries and a good old fry up). We did have evening meals on two nights and I can recommend the starter of whitebait followed by the chicken burger to anyone along with a great selection of ales. As for the staff, from reception through the bar and bistro to the cleaning staff, all were friendly and polite which made for a great experience all round. We will definitely return.…

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Lanhydrock Hotel and whilst it is a lovely hotel in a beautiful location it certainly wasn't perfect. Our room was on the ground floor and had a bath with an overhead shower. Not only was the bathroom door breaking down due to the damp, when we had a shower the water went all over the floor as the glass screen just didnt do its job. Despite numerous lamps it was a very dark room but the main issue was the fact thst we were unable to open the curtains in the morning when the golfers were out as they could look straight into our room. Blinds would have been better than a net curtain. Whilst the breakfast choices could not be faulted unfortunately we couldnt say the same for the evening meals. Pea risotto was the only vegetarian option for three of the four nights. They had no choice but at least they got peas which is more than the rest of us did. The menu said the main course came with seasonal vegetables - every night we received rubbery carrot slices and almost raw broccoli and more often than not the meals (including the soup) were luke warm. Last night the roast potatoes were so hard we couldnt get the forks in them nor cut them with a knife. Needless to say many of them went back to the kitchen as waste. It was a real let down and very disappinting. We know that we were in a group of 29 but we had expected better.…

I took 28 lady members of my golf club here for my captain's away day. We were lucky with the weather which stayed fine. The course was in great condition. We were greeted with the coffee and egg/bacon baps which went down well. The golf pro welcomed me and had set up the course exactly as I had requested. After the game we had a two course meal in the restaurant. All of the staff were very professional and attentive, catering for various dietary requirements. All of the feedback I had from those attending was very positive. Thank you.

Great stay for my mums 70th. Staff were very attentive and friendly. We had an evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant, food both times was lovely. We didn’t have the best weather so couldn’t sit outside and enjoy a drink but we will be back to do this at some point. Would highly recommend.

Had a nice day playing golf until it came to the meal which was pretty awful for such a lovely hotel. The chicken was over cooked and tough. The sauce that it came with was just poured on top not cooked with it, so it was very tasteless. The saving grace was the cheesecake for sweet, but those who had the bread pudding left most of it.
