I stayed in room No2 and it was tiny. The bed was comfy and the room was clean so the size is just a minor problem. The food downstairs was amazing both in the evening and at breakfast time. The staff were very friendly and easy to speak to. I would go back but will ask for another room.

We stayed in Banchory while visiting Crathes Castle. The rooms were basic but clean and recently updated. After the pub closed, it was very quiet. We had a good night's sleep and were very comfortable. Great location in the centre of town. The food at the pub (we had dinner AND a very hearty breakfast, the latter of which was...

Nice hotel, really good restaurant and bar. Excellent food quality and friendly staff. Rooms basic but very clean. Only criticism was service at breakfast, this let the hotel down. One morning it wasn't open (8am) and on the Sunday it was closed at 9.40. I would, however, stay here again.

A group of colleagues went to the Douglas Arms for supper for my leaving meal. Very enjoyable meal in a well laid out restaurant. Praised the food highly to my partner and we went as a couple about 2 weeks later. Wasn't impressed with the food we got then. Battered fish was burnt and the burger was dry and unappetising....

The rooms are like you see on the website. It was clean, modern and had everything needed for a short stay. Beds were comfortable with extra pillows available. Parking on the street or behind hotel. Choice at breakfast was good. Granola, yogurt and fruit was lovely as was the cooked breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful.

Booked a twin room for one night (£90) whilst attending a wedding in Banchory. Room was clean, bright and airy. No problems with excessive noise, considering the rooms are above a busy bat and restaurant. Breakfast was fine. Unfortunately the hotel had an electricity failure on the morning of our departure, so no power, hot water or shower available in...

The facade of this hotel belies the fact that it's interior bar and restaurant are very modern. The rooms, however, not so much. Ours was small and poorly furnished although clean. One night was fine.

We stayed in room 5, looking out of the window all we could see was the wall of the next property. When we opened it and looked down it looked like we were at the local waste tip - rubbish strewn everywhere. Inside the room was also disappointing it was small and no wardrobes instead there was a rail with...

Having previously stayed at this hotel, I was pleased to see it had been renovated and had a clean, modern new interior. We were greeted by a friendly and helpful member of staff who showed us to our room, which was clean and pleasant. We were disappointed by the lack of plugs in the room, and we had to move...
