Had a short break in Weston and so glad we chose this place. The room was comfortable and the staff we met were all lovely, especially Ashley who checked us in. The continental breakfast was plentiful and had a decent amount of choice, and was served in a light and airy room. The hotel has a tie up with the YMCA to provide training in the hospitality industry so it is nice to be able to support that.
There a a couple of bits of the hotel that could do with refreshing but it is an old building and there’s nothing wrong with that. As others have said, the parking can be a bind if you don’t get lucky on one of the side streets or on the road out front - cost me £6 for the couple of days we were there so not too bad. The charges stop when the season is over in November.
In terms of location it is well placed, our sea view room gave us a great view of the See Monster, particularly when illuminated at night, and plenty of good restaurants are just a 10 minute walk or so along the seafront.
Would have absolutely no hesitation in staying again if we go back to Weston.

As part of the YMCA Dulverton group, we are very proud of the work that we do and the support we can offer our local communities and provide opportunities to those that may not receive as such elsewhere. As you mentioned, parking can be a bit of a problem on busy weekends, especially when there are local events such as the Beach Race or the See Monster, which we are lucky to be just across the road from. We are fortunate to have a small car park at the front of the hotel and the surrounding roads being free parking. What can I say? What a beautiful place to stay! Our room was so spacious and clean. We manged to get a free parking space outside the front of the hotel so no parking fees! (Get there early) we couldn't check in until 3:pm so our friendly receptionist kindly put our drinks in the fridge for us. When we did check in we was offered free bottle of cold water with ice & fresh milk. All staff work hard and always with a smile! Continental breaky but lots of choice. Boiled eggs, meats, yogurts, fruits, cereals, toast with a good selection of hot/cold drinks. Will definitely be back!

We had the loveliest stay here last night, the rooms are lovely and the sea view absolutely perfect was nice to be able to relax on the bed and look out across the beach and sea. The staff were so friendly and very helpful I went down at 6am to ask for some more milk and the gentleman was the kindest and couldn't do enough to help. Thank-you so much

Just back from long weekend staying at this hotel, firstly the positives.
Staff very welcoming, we were made to feel very welcome as was our dog.
Room was very large and comfortable.
Breakfast was adequate and unusually the latte from the machine was nice, even had a cup warmer.
Beach was just over the road and it wasn't a long walk into town.
There was space for about 4 cars on the front and if you miss one of those the side road has free parking.
There was no hairdryer in the room but that was rectified the next day.
Now the negatives.
The room was much too hot and even though I turned radiator off it still remained on, even with all windows open and the fan on it was still hot.
We did mention it to reception and while they did try to sort it all they managed to do was turn everything off including the hot water so couldn't have a shower the next morning.
The charge for a dog maybe be reasonable for one or two nights but I feel it should be discounted if you stay longer, we normally pay £25 for stays over 2 nights when we stay at other hotels.
I understand that due to covid rooms are not being serviced but it would have been nice to have clean towels left outside room instead of us having to go to reception.
As I say we have no complaints about the staff and I'm sure that things will improve in future, well I hope they will.

We found it difficult to find the hotel upon arrival, as it was very dark outside. The staff are helpful and friendly. The room was a little cold and we couldn’t get any extra heat out of the radiator, despite turning it up. The pipes make a noise throughout the night, and there is no shower in the bathroom (just a plastic jug in the bath).
The hotel is a bit of a maze, but has a lift to help with access.
Breakfast was continental and all very good options. The breakfast room looks like it is the most recently renovated room in the property.
For the budget price it is a good basic stay, and we loved reading about the training that happens on site.

If you informed a member of staff throughout your stay, we would have been more than happy to help. The room you stayed in, Anchor Head, is our only double room with a bath rather than a shower. If a guest were to have a strong preference to either one, we would recommend contacting us prior to their stay so we can make sure your stay is as great as it can be. We agree the building is a bit of a maze, some of our new members of staff can still get lost :). We have tried to place directions and floor signs around the hotel to help as much as possible. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Staff are clueless really which was quite funny to watch. Flavious the night porter was a delight and gave us more blankets as our room was not made up or ready for when we arrived. Breakfast was pretty disappointing and the girl on reception was very rude and did not look like she was interested in even being there or putting a smile back on her face. Would not recommend staying here it’s actually a joke how it’s even open and making money

Struggled to find somewhere reasonable to stay and came here. The stay was fine but not great, some more attention to housekeeping needed. Parking limited in front of hotel so parked in side road for free, severn road wasnt sure if free as beach carpark just opposite u need to pay for, but no issues parking. Welcome from reception nice, room was large...disabled room. On arrival to room no toilet roll so had to go and ask for some, then found a half empty bottle of shampoo in shower so asked for new one, which they didnt have. Made a cup of tea and no bin in room, but v large one in bathroom but no bag inside and there was already some rubbish in there, didn't want to put my tea bag in so left on tray, but had no spoon so back out again to reception to get one, it was like a yoyo in and out!. Felt sorry for girl there. On having shower there was some grimy bits in shower room as the drain was a bit rusty and flaky. Shower was warm and reasonable pressure. Bed ok nothing special though and slept fine. Breakfast disappointing, plastic wrapped croissant or pain au chocolate, toast cereal and boiled egg you can cook yourself. There was yoghurt and some glass with fruit in, thought it was in jelly but was a syrup, would have preferred a bowl of fruit salad u could choose from. I got my own coffee from jug, and there was orange or small bottles of apple or pineapple. There was also some cheap meats too...was fine but not inspiring. So my stay was fine, but wouldnt write home about it, sure there are better places to stay.

My wife and I with two dogs booked into this hotel for one night whilst having some work done on our house.
So glad we did, right by the beach and the room was huge with lovely sea views.
Staff were fantastic let us book in early, and even offered to check in on our dogs as we was thinking of leaving them in the room whilst getting something to eat. Can't ask for better than that.
Although no Full English the breakfast consisted of a lovely continental breakfast where you got to choose what you had and how much you want to eat.
A great stay, will definitely be back again and look forward to it very much.

Extremely disappointed travellers as I'd read some good reviews and were impressed with their ethos. Booked this hotel in May and had received emails from them answering a few queries since the booking. On arrival at the hotel after a nearly 3 hour drive and having a dog with us,we were told they did not have a booking/available room for our 3 night booking. Staff, although polite and making us tea,didn't seem to have the experience or tools to deal with this situation. The first staff member called the manager who was totally disinterested. I heard the staff member ask the manager if they wanted to speak to us and they must have been told no as they said they'd been advised to tell us to contact the booking agent as it was their fault. I disagree as I showed the staff member their emails welcoming me on the 30th June. The staff member, although apologetic, then seemed to just want to hand it over to the next member of staff who was due on duty as they seemed to think they could sort it out more efficiently. Wrong,this member of staff was also not equipped to deal with this situation. Again polite,but seemed out of their depth to deal with this. It seems the hotel did not close out their inventory which is why this happened. After spending nearly 3 hours sitting in their reception we finally found ourselves another hotel (as it was late and it had to be dog friendly) and contacted the booking agent to facilitate this,which was done. We then had to relocate to the new hotel . It seems we were not the only ones this happened to as the hotel has already confirmed to me that it had happened to someone else on that day (Friday) and at our new hotel ,there was also another couple it had happened to on Saturday and was told by staff that the manager wasn't bothered. Whilst understanding mistakes happen,own them,don't lay blame elsewhere,apologise and do all you can to help. Certainly will not be giving them a second chance and this doesn't lend itself to the ethos they portray. After our weekend being nearly ruined,we did have a great time after being relocated.

Good morning I was very saddened to hear of your clearly upsetting experience with us last weekend. I have investigated this with the hotel staff and with your provider. We do not automatically close out our own inventory and rely on Expedia and Booking.com etc to do this. It seems on this occasion that there was a failing in the system.
