Just returned home after a 2 night stay at Richmond hotel and all I can say is I fully recommend anyone to stay here when visiting Weston s mare. Greeted by Johnathan the friendly owner on arrival and were quickly checked in and had a brief chat before going to our room. We were on the top floor so a few small flights of stairs but there is also a lift which is very useful. Our room was a good size for 2 adults and our 6 year old daughter, beds were comfy and bathroom was very clean with nice shower. The Hotel is in a great location with large park for kids on the doorstep. The beach is very close so sitting outside hotel for a couple of drinks ( served from hotel bar ) was nice as lovely sea views. Breakfast was very nice and filling and the staff can’t do enough for you. Thanks guys… we will definitely be returning one day.…
2nd visit , stayed 2 nights and i have to say Jonathan and his staff are welcoming and helpful , the breakfast is plentiful and Steve and the morning staff cannot do enough for you. the wife and I love the laid back approach however with that your get a comfortable clean room and the front patio is a great place to have a natter and meet new friends, the view is very nice too. Booked again for Sept .
Things did not look good from the beginning. The manager of the hotel greeted us wearing flip-flops ,sorts and a t-shirt as if he was watching tv in his living room ! Late at night when we wanted to have a shower we discovered that it only worked as a bath. We didnt want to have a bath though for hygienic reasons ! The straw that broke the camel's back was the breakfast time. From 8 am to 9 am.! In all the hotels and B&Bs i've been so far ,there is a 3 hours gap, usually from 7.30 till 10.30. Due to covid, i would think this time schedule shoud be necessary, so that the customers spread and dont pack like sardines in a can ! What an irresponsible behaviour at the cost of £ 100 per night !
Stayed over a weekend with my husband, proprietor was helpful and friendly. Room was dated, though quite clean. Lovely breakfast, with several choices. Staff are friendly. Hotel is in a very good spot. Basic though okay.
I stayed at this hotel after reading the good reviews, I really can’t understand why anyone would give it a good review?? We could have stayed somewhere much cheaper and I really wish we had because I feel we’ve waisted hard earned money. We were arriving an hour before booking in time but after a phone call before hand it was agreed one of our two rooms would be ready so we could leave our luggage before going out. After our journey we thought we would have a cuppa before heading out. Unfortunately the kettle was absolutely filthy. I rinsed it out as much as possible and made a drink but none of us could drink it as we were put off. On top of this I noticed some of the sockets in the room were broken and potentially dangerous. When we arrived the chap said if we wanted remotes for the telly we would have to pay £20 deposit for each room - never experienced that before! Unfortunately when we got back that evening there was no one around so no telly. After being out all day I decided to have a bath, but on going in the bathroom realised it was absolutely filthy! Also the taps in the basin were filthy and made me sick just to clean my teeth! My kettle was also filthy so no cuppa again. I searched high and low for a hairdryer but there wasn’t one, I didn’t bring one as it was advertised as being in the room. I went to my daughters room but there wasn’t one there either so I went to bed with wet hair. The following morning we were told you had to ask for one if you wanted one - not helpful late at night after a bath and certainly not something Iv experienced before. The bathroom light had no switch but comes on automatically when you walk in the bathroom but then stays on for a long time. Unfortunately this meant the bathroom light and fan were on most of the night keeping me awake as I couldn’t switch them off. The bed and bedding were not too bad and the breakfast was good, the man (sorry don’t know his name) was friendly. All in all this was definitely not worth the money we paid and I most certainly will not be returning or recommending it to anyone. Surely keeping a place clean is a basic requirement in a hotel and also if you advertise certain facilities make sure they are available! …
