On arrival at the hotel. There was no one on reception, we found a lady in the bar area, when we asked her if anyone was on reception, she bluntly said NO. When I informed her that we'd arrived and would like to check in, she mumbled ok and walked in the direction of reception. She reluctantly booked us in with no welcome whatsoever.
The room is a really nice sized room, with amazing views. Comfy bed. We have no complaints regarding the room other than chandeliers covered in old cob webs, and also when we went into the bathroom there was less than half a roll of toilet paper, which we had to keep asking to be refilled, one day we had to ask 3 times for a new roll which is totally unacceptable.
Our first morning, we went for breakfast, had no cereals, no fruits or yoghurt. Apple juice only, the Welsh breakfast came out very cheap quality, not sourced locally and of a very poor standard, the bacon tasted tainted. The man serving the breakfast had long hair, considering he was in and out of the kitchen serving food. His hair was not tied back or even in a net. The remaining three days we didn't bother going for breakfast and went somewhere else.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel but it will be more memorable for the wrong reasons, you need someone more happy in their job to be front of house

My fiancé and I stayed here on a Saturday night in August. This was our first night away from home since the start of the covid19 crisis, and we felt very safe here. Our temperature was checked as we entered the hotel. We loved our room, which had a fantastic modern walk-in shower and great views looking towards the river. We enjoyed drinks in the garden, overlooking the river and historic bridge. We also had a lovely dinner in the garden, and thought that the quality, service and value for money were excellent. It’s best to book a table to ensure availability. Breakfast was continental style, served to our room. We made our breakfast choices on arrival at the hotel. We had a nice table and chairs in our room, which we used for our breakfast. There is a one-way system in place throughout the building and hand sanitiser stations are available. There is plenty of free parking and free WiFi. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Snowdonia, Betws y Coed and the coast. It’s well worth a visit and we hope to return.

disappointed with the standard of hotel run down needs refurbishment . No rooms cleaned daily .Staff polite , but standard of food ie breakfast certainly not prepared by a chief and it cost £200 pounds for a two night stay. Not what I remember it used to be but it has obviously changed management or ownership.

We had a lovely stay here. Great value for money with breakfast included which was freshly cooked. Excellent location in the local villiage and a short walk to a hidden waterfall. Short drive to zip world and betsycoed. Bar downstairs was cosy and noise didn't travel up to room. The room was standard with a large bathroom however we did have a problem with the colour of the water which we reported to reception. Overall a nice stay, location made it for us!

After a great days walking in Snowdonia we headed to the hotel that was booked on the basis of its location and trip advisor rating. From the friendly greeting, the warm, clean, cozy room, the evening meal, ample breakfast to the farewell. We couldn't fault anything and we'll definitely be going back again.

We really enjoyed our stay in this traditional, welcoming hotel with a lovely beer garden and stunning river views (we spent hours of fun watching the traffic cross the blind, narrow bridge!). The old building manifests itself in a couple of ways like the two flights of fairly steep, rickety stairs up to our room but that can't be helped, of course.
Our room had a fresh, very new looking shower room and was big enough to have both sleeping and sitting areas. It was clean and the bed was large and comfy. The only letdown was the ancient lumpy sofa, we sank to the floor as we sat on it. Otherwise the room was great and we had 5 very good nights' sleep.
Breakfast was a great offering of full Welsh and/or cereals or pastries. They were happy to take custom orders and we always got exactly what we asked for including excellent tea. It was well cooked and plentiful with good quality ingredients although we were slightly disappointed by the sausages compared to the quality of the rest.
We had dinner one night - good quality pub grub rather than high end, but that suited us fine and everything was very enjoyable and well cooked. As it was my birthday we asked if they would chill the champagne we'd brought along which they did very happily with no corkage fee. There's a nice bar too.
The staff were friendly and efficient and were most helpful in calling a local tyre place when we had a puncture in the car park on leaving. We would certainly recommend The Eagles and hope to stay again.

Appalling behaviour over the parking. I received a £60 parking fine where not one of 3 different staff made sure we were aware or had filled in the parking registration form when we arrived. This was for a mediocre buffet that my daughter didn't eat that cost us £35. When I rang the hotel they said they would sort out the fine i.e. get it cancelled and I didn't need to do anything else at all and so I didn't, but the fine was passed to a debt recovery company and has now cost me £150. I also emailed the hotel at the time but received no response that I could find in any email folder.

We called in for a drink after a beautiful river walk. We both used the toilets and they were absolutely filthy and disgusting. They should be clean, especially in a hotel. In light of current Covid issues we didn’t feel confident to drink or eat there if they can’t get the basics right. The public toilets that we’ve experienced in Wales are cleaner!

Avoid this place unless you want a pint and coffee to cost you 100 quid. We used to go weekly as live in the area. We went first day they had put in the smart parking. Youd expect when ordered drinks etc for someone to tell you about new parking charge? We recieved a parking fine and rung them as regular customers they said they would intervene on our behalf. They did nothing at all. I presume a % of parking fine goes to them. From being a regular customer to one that will no longer go anymore they will probably lose out. The staff tell me it started the date we got the fine but didnt say have you put your reg in or point to the screen as you think they would do. They never intervened on our behalf as they said they would.... well weve lost 100 quid but as they have now lost our custom as a regular they have lost a lot more..... thanks for the support on this matter.... I think not.
