Transformed from house to Bingham Riverhouse in 2019, this restaurant with rooms nestles along the riverside in Richmond, London. It’s a house where people can meet, mingle, muse, where the constant flow of the river mixes with music and the clinking of glasses. There are fifteen individually designed bedrooms with en-suites and a drawing room, library and parlour for eating and drinking throughout the day. All have fresh colours, tone and style which echo the flow of the river beyond. Food and drink are fresh, vibrant and seasonal. It’s located in a few minutes walk from Richmond Bridge, a ten minute walk from the town centre, Richmond's Royal Park and world famous attractions such as Kew Gardens, and Hampton Court Palace, are all within easy reach.

I have just returned from a 2 night stay in the Bingham and I didn’t want to leave!

This is not my first visit to the hotel. I have a relative in Richmond and visit this beautiful area 2-3 times a year, staying at the Bingham for some of these stays. In more recent years I have booked Air Bnb’s for cost / space but always find there to be a compromise, for example not in the right location or being disappointed in on way or another.

So back to the Bingham! & the Bingham my ‘go to’ location will remain.

The hotel is located in a Thames Riverhouse sitting pretty on the periphery of Richmond. You are moments to the terrace gardens which lead you on to the Richmond Hill Terrace (best view in London) and the villagey Richmond Hill, then minutes along the road or the riverside into ‘town’ , more pleasant along the river of course. I opted for Car parking as part of my room rate which was very handy as parking can be difficult in this area.

The reception area is a hub of activity. The team are especially vibrant and so helpful! I want to name names but that would invite everyone I came into contact with so there would be little point haha! The bedrooms , bar and restaurant are accessed via this area. I visited the bar twice, once in the evening, and in the afternoon. I was delivered excellent, personal service. In the afternoon I sat and had my complimentary welcome glass of champagne on the spectacular terrace and just watched life go by on the river.

I had two different rooms during my stay. A ‘cosy’ room and a ‘river room’. The cosy room was larger than I expected and although facing the road , it was surprisingly quiet. The River Room, Borgia, was a beautiful space. Spacious, with a stunning view of the river, a tin bathtub & a feature fire place. The design of these rooms along with the other areas of the hotel, including the newly refurbished bar leaves nothing to be desired. The environment I would describe as homely & sophisticated. I can imagine spending large amounts of time here.

Thank you Bingham Riverhouse for my wonderful two days. I wish I’d taken more photos of the Borgia room & view to show. But my glass of champers will have to suffice !

Cheers!

Lovely hotel situated in a very pretty area overlooking the Thames. Walking distance to the local high street. We came for my daughter's wedding and the venue was lovely, the food was amazing and the staff were friendly, polite and attentive. I have only given 4 stars as we were in a smallish loft room and I needed to bend at a 45 degree angle to walk along my side of the bed to get into it (I'm 5' 4"). There are cheaper hotels in the vicinity but the convenience of being at the same hotel as the wedding made it worth it, our room also came with free parking, a few hundred yards along the road and full English breakfast. When I had a query regarding my final bill the hotel acted upon it immediately. I would highly recommend this hotel due to its location and wonderful staff.

I live in Richmond, but wanted to arrange something special for my partner's birthday in these weird Covid times, so booked a 2-night Summer Staycation deal at the Binghham Riverhouse to support a local business and to be able to skip any travel.

Our room, Sweet Briar on the top floor, was beautiful and very comfortable with a stunning river view. It was great with an air-conditioned room on the hottest weekend of the year. The reception, cleaning and bar staff were all very helpful and lovely. We also enjoyed a few glasses of champagne on the terrace.

The only letdown was the breakfast hamper. It was promptly delivered to the room at the requested time, but the concept was not ready for implementation nor up to the usual high Bingham standards.

Overall, we had a fabulous time and we'll definitely be back for another treat! Thank you all.

The food was a bit disappointing and the front desk a bit unfriendly. I have been wanting to go for 2 years now to visit Bingham river house, I had been before to check it out as a wedding venue. When I went back then there was plenty of parking and as such I assumed nothing had changed. They had marked this time all the parking for guests for a wedding. When I asked if there was someone I could park, unhelpfully the front desk first response was that I should have called up….well isn’t hindsight lovely….he then told me that I could park next to the house but I would have to pay extra £10 because it was just that little bit closer.

The food sounded lovely on the menu but the portions were so small, even for a tasting menu! I thought a lot of it lacked flavour but I must say it was presented beautifully. This place could have catered better to non alcoholic guests, I would have liked to have seen a soft drink menu, particularly as my friend was pregnant

All in all expected a luxury experience for the amount I paid and it just wasn’t that

Went with a group of five for out first post lockdown dinner at Steven Edwards new venture at The Bingham and we were not disappointed. We had the six course tasting menu at £85 per head and it was a great eating experience. Everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented by knowledgable and friendly staff. My favourite course was the scallops, totally delicious, I could have eaten them all night. The only criticism I have is the lack of atmosphere, I haven't been here for over a year and it has been restyled into something that lacks any warmth and detracts from the great food, please change it back to what it used to look like and I will come back.

My wife and I recently booked and stayed at the Bingham for a few days whilst attending a couple of events at Kew Gardens.
On arrival the room was not available (no problems as we arrived early). Reception took care of our bags and later arranged for them to be taken to our room. So we popped into the bar for a drink whilst we waited. Some of the furniture was very tired (beyond the point of shabby chic) and there was a random tv on a stand with cable hanging down and dvd player underneath which looked totally out of place.
The staircase to the rooms was very dark and little illumination.
The bedroom was satisfactory with a beautiful roll top, free standing, copper bath in the room. The tv was playing an advert for the hotel, showing a young lady in the bath full of bubbles. Pity the hotel didn’t think to put any bubble bath in the room. There was a very nice coffee machine in the room with milk frother but this is the fist hotel with no biscuits.
On the 1st night we had used all the body wash which was never replaced.
On return from Kew in the evening we grabbed a few more drinks at the bar. Just a pity they didn’t think to bring complimentary nuts.
A few days before we stayed at the Lygon Arms in the Cotswolds that was a similar price but the standards there far exceeded the Bingham.
In terms of comfort and cleanliness, I have no complaints but attention to detail was missing. In my opinion the hotel was overpriced and did not deliver. I will not be staying there again.

I Booked to take my Mother (who is old) to the Theatre to see the Pantomime.
This hotel had the nearest and best reviews, so were their communications before arrival. I paid for the best twin room Sappo with a river view and it was very spacious and comfortable. We also had the Sunday set lunch plus a bottle of wine - the total cost for one night stay was £431.13 but worth every penny to not have to complain!

We celebrated our daughter’s wedding at this beautiful venue situated on the River Thames in Richmond, London. The ceremony was conducted in the private and secluded garden / grounds of the hotel. The seventy two guests were comfortably catered for in the air conditioned reception room which also allowed for dancing to a live band and DJ later in the day. We celebrated into the wee hours. The guests were also able to spill out and mingle under covered the fairy lighted terrace, making for a very atmospheric evening. Emma, our wedding planner and her team were on top of their game making for a magical evening. The food was excellent as was the presentation and service. The staff were pleasant and accommodating. The rooms were extremely clean, comfortable and quiet. Private parking is available opposite the hotel. I have no hesitation to highly recommend this venue.

We stayed a at Bingham Riverhouse s guests to a wedding that took place in the hotel. As a wedding venue, the location is perfect, with a private garden next to the Thames and the 'underground' floor cut off from the rest of the hotel for more privacy, connected to the terrace and garden. Apart from a mishap with table placements, no major faults could be found.
As a hotel, it is very discreet and nearly hidden even when waking right in front of it. The reception area is unassuming, and the rooms are located right, left, front and centre, as the old houses making up the full establishment add some quirkiness to the inside architecture. The comfortable lounge with its thousands of Penguin books makes you want to cheat the cold outside by staying the whole day reading with a nice hot drink at hand. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet (we were on the river-side, not the road) and contribute to an exquisite stay. Evening food and breakfast are more than satisfactory and the cocktails/mocktails do not let the place down either. Staff had the appearance and demeanour of students on a part-time job paying for thir courses, but even if this is the case, I suppose it goes with the style of the hotel. They were at all times pleasant, smiling and very knowledgeable and that was very much appreciated.

This was my first post-pandemic trip, anyway. My sister and I had recently lost our mother, and wanted an opportunity to regroup emotionally, and have a lovely time. We chose well. I loved this stay. Every aspect was positive. Service: a warm welcome and smile from everyone; an offer of help with bags; nothing was too much trouble. Ambience: loved the quirky and individual decor; loved the international flavour of the background music. Dining: a generous and well prepared breakfast; my lactose intolerance was well catered for; a divine evening meal on the Monday evening (with special thanks to Lucas for taking care of us). Our room: we were up in the gods in “Constancy” but still had a river view; a well appointed room; softer & firmer pillows; natural shower/bath lotions; a shower with a constant & delicious supply of hot water; and absolutely spotless. I found no faults. It was as a lovely stay in a lovely place. It’s also on the number 65 bus route which made it easy to get to Kingston and Richmond Park. The landing dock for the river ferry is minutes away. I recommend and will be back.

I think maybe not easy... if they have a downstairs room it would work but I seem to remember there might be stairs into the property and the corridor past reception might be tight...
