Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very clean and spacious, well-equipped and with good breakfast materials provided. Hosts very responsive and supportive. I hesitate to criticise such kind hosts but I could have done with a bit more colour both in the house and the garden - flowers, pictures, shrubs etc. Maybe I missed the point - a clean, minimalist vibe? Anyway thanks Sandra and Miles!

High standards all round. Fabulous rooms delivering on the promise from the website. Beautiful location. Wonderful breakfast. Sandra and Miles could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. We went to Glyndebourne and the property could not be more convenient. Massive standing ovation all round for our hosts and the whole experience. Thank you both so much

Over the years we have stayed in at least 9 different hotels or B & Bs when going to Glyndebourne but for the second year running we have been to Little Norlington Barn and now would not consider anywhere else. It is only about two or three miles from the opera - we were back within 20 minutes of the curtain going down. The rooms are first class ,but not fussy ,with everything you need provided and very comfortable beds. It is down an attractive lane and is peaceful and quiet. Excellent breakfast which you can have outside weather permitting. The owners Sandra and Miles and charming and do everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. My only concern in writing this review is that it will encourage too many people to stay there and it might be fully booked when we next want to go.!

It's the best place to stay for Glyndebourne, you don't have to rush off after the opera but can sit in the grounds and finish your champagne knowing Sandra's delightfully comfortable home is just over the hill (actually walkable if you end up over the limit). And they'll help you get your picnic ready and into your glad rags. Delicious generous breakfasts with locally sourced fresh ingredients, you get the use of this imaginatively converted Sussex barn and the run of the beautiful gardens. Incredible value compared to a hotel room, and most likely cleaner and more luxurious. Plus Sandra and Miles are friendly and fastidious hosts. (We left a little cushion behind & went back to Australia. They kept it for us until we returned 2 years later).

Norlington Barn is in a fantastic location for amongst other things: Glyndebourne; Lewes; the associated Bloomsbury Set buildings (Charleston House and Berwick Church especially) and much more. Add to this the lovely building conversion of the Barn; the view from our room and the peace and quiet of Norlington Lane. Sandra is a great host; knowledgeable of the area, superb breakfasts and owner of adorable staghounds. Do not look any further for a Sussex B&B: this is the one!

Thank you so much for your lovely review. Great to know you enjoyed your stay and we are pleased that our doggies did their best meeting and greeting! We are indeed close for Glyndebourne, Lewes and all things Bloomsbury Settish, yet still rural so that guests can hopefully relax in the peace of the countryside. Hope we can welcome you back some time. All the best, Sandra

.....we liked Little Norlington Barn so much we didn't feel like going anywhere... I was looking for (and didn't mind paying for) something special and unusual to spend our wedding anniversary. I found it in this beautifully converted barn. We stayed in the main house in the Kicking Horse room which is really a separate little apartment up a separate staircase. We had a double bedroom and little sitting room with tv and fridge and tray with coffee/tea and beautiful views over the surrounding area. Bathroom was modern with a walk-in shower. We were invited to use the main living space in the high-ceilinged barn at any time but we liked our own little sitting area. I won't upload any pictures because it is exactly as on the website. Breakfast was plenty and delicious, every diet catered for: fresh fruit, homemade granola even better homemade spelt bread. The cooked breakfast was equally good, best scrambled (locally sourced) eggs ever. We were also offered hot drinks or cake during the day. We did venture out in the end to recommended pubs and enjoyed a couple of walks, one from the house. We absolutely loved staying in this beautiful, unusual home with Sandra and Miles and I must not forget to mention their two amazing deerhounds.

Thank you so much for your lovely words. We are glad our barn made a good base for your wedding anniversary weekend. I must give credit to the wonderful Springles farm for the fab eggs I buy. Also, The Cock Inn for supper. Hope that we can welcome you back some time - especaially as Rora the deerhound is already missing all the attention! All the best, Sandra

We met up with friends and enjoyed a lovely venue with great breakfasts and friendly hosts . It was handy to be able to use the lounge and glasses were happily provided for our drinks . We all slept well , probably partly due to being out and about in the warm sunshine all day , plenty to do in easy reach .

We have just rented the whole of Little Norlington Barn for a family stay before a local wedding, including couples, the bride and groom, and grandparents. Sandra and Miles were wonderful, gracious hosts and every aspect of our visit was a joy, from start to finish. The barn is lovingly restored with acres of English country charm, and the grounds are bucolic in the extreme. Each room has original features and charm--but enough updates so I (NOT known for my ability to rough it) did not feel primitive! The beds and linens are ridiculously comfortable and we sank into them, sleeping like babies each night. Bath products are British-made, charming for Anglophile Americans like me. Sandra's breakfasts are amazing--locally sourced ingredients for fruit, granola, eggs, bacon, sausage and the like make everything taste amazing. The coffee beans are also locally roasted. I was late from Heathrow on Friday and Sandra whipped me up homemade spelt toast points with cheese and her homemade crabapple chili jam. We were also fortunate enough to sample her delightful dinner as part of our wedding weekend--roasted butternut squash soup, roast chicken and chorizo, broccoli, mash and a lovely cheesecake with caramel sauce in which I would gladly swim. We had early mornings and late nights with the wedding, but Sandra and Miles were there at every turn to make sure we had everything and that no desire went unquenched. In addition to being exquisite hosts, Sandra and Miles are also lovely people with wonderful stories to tell--and they've perfected the art of being there at the right time and quietly disappearing when we wanted family time. Honestly, I'd carry on but now I'm in danger of being ridiculously effusive. I cannot recommend Little Norlington Barn highly enough!
