Lovely place and situation - as previous visitors have reported. A large group of friends spent three days with superb food, very effiecient and friendly service and excellent meals all the way. A new chef has been engaged (see some previous comments ...) Even with a wedding party taking place at the same time, the Sandberg family managed to keep everyone happy. The whole family worked non-stop to keep us happy - which we were. We recommend the place for a visit with the family or for small or large occations.

We spent one night at Hoel Gård and had an absolutely wonderful stay. Dinner and breakfast was excellent and the farm and surroundings are stunning and well kept. We got a room by the lake, which was OK, but not as nice as the rooms pictured online. Very helpful and nice staff that proudly represents the place.

Traditional well maintained farm, nice surroundings and beautiful view over the lake Mjøsa. Food is good but nothing special- no extra twist or surprises, as they produce chicken, that’s what you get. Well made but still chicken. I guess you don’t come here for fancy food. You are eating in a new building and not in the main house as you easily would assume. Service is a bit awkward - lady of the house is more interested in telling about Norwegian farm politics, about herself and the family than to listen and follow the lead of the guests. The guide tour of the main house, for which you have to pay extra, is somewhat interesting but with too little knowledge of history, so you have to regard it as a “quick house tour» and not a museum visit.

Dear Ducati40, Thanks for your feedback. Lunch is always pre-booked, one day Chicken, the other day red fish, lamb, veal or whatever you desire. You were part in a group, so the Choice was setteled with your collegue. No Building here is new. I dont know what history part you were listeing to? You were eating in our old pigbarn. We are the fifth generation owners. We know our , just ask. And its not charged extra, its included in the agreed rate. But shows on the bill as part of the package.

This quaint Norwegian Farm is located in a lovely location in hilly farm country. It’s on Lake Mjøsa, NORTH of Oslo. We stayed in the guest houses. The hosts were so friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, accommodating! The food was gourmet quality, beautifully prepared local food. We were served fresh local apple juice, champagne and the wine with dinner was excellent. The place is charming with antiques. And the historic boat Shipbladner stops at the dock. We were a group of 14. All were impressed with the accommodations and lovely location!

We stayed here for one night at the tail end of a three week trip to Norway. Wished we could have stayed longer. It’s a lovely place on a spectacular property on lake Mjosa. Clean, comfortable accommodations in a beautiful setting. The hosts were friendly and helpful and could not have treated us better! Excellent food at breakfast & dinner. We enjoyed getting a peek into the main house and hearing some of its history. What a special place this is and hope to return someday for a longer stay. We loved Norway!
