We had a very warm welcome from Rachel who showed us yo our room, l say room it was a little cottage like building at the rear of the property all l can say is it was beautifully presented inside everything you could want for a hotel room.
The bar was well stocked and a live band was playing that night great atmosphere and so freindly.
The breakfast was well presented and tasted just as good as it looked and so much of it, freshly cooked so it was piping hit when brought to us.
Would highly recommend it and will be returning.
Thank you to all the staff, Gareth you have a great team.

A group of 10 of stayed for two nights to join the Triumph Adventure experience. It was at the tail end of lock down, which made things tricky, but hotel team did everything thing they could to make our stay a pleasant as possible, and we all had a great time. They are expanding and I will be returning with my partner. Motorcycle freindly, drying rooms, motorcycle parking and a fantastically welcoming attitude. They have very affordable single rooms, as well as twin and double rooms, but the expansion is promising river view rooms. The rooms were spotlessly clean, modern, warm and comfortable, but fairly simple. The rooms all en-suite, have a shared kitchen area which means you can knock up an affordable meal / snack.

The Swan isn't a flash five star hotel, it gets five stars because its team make sure you have a great time in a traditional, freindly pub like environment.

We stayed 2 nights at The New Swan hotel to allow us a base to walk Pen y Fan and Talybont Reservoir.
We booked direct on line them which was easy, the room rate and choice of rooms was just right for the group as we had a double room, a twin and 2 single rooms. The rooms were very clean and tidy recently refurbished and were comfortable and well heated ( possible too warm but adjustable) The single room I had was spot on, had everything you need for this type of weekend walking, a good bathroom and a great clothes storage, room had Wi-Fi, TV, plenty of sockets and was a good size for a single ( small but it did the job) The accommodation is next to the pub in a separate building with car parking at the rear and the pub was busy and very welcoming with a good selection of drinks. ( note: did not serve food in the evening….however they recommended The Clock House for an evening meal, 7 minute walk from the Pub 👍) Breakfast was in the Pub in the morning from 07:30 am and had a lot of choice, we had a mix of Full cooked Breakfasts or just eggs / bacon with toast along with tea / coffee / OJ and cereals or yogurt 👍 The team looked after us really well from arrival to checkout, Gareth thank you for the breakfasts and a well run establishment we will be back for more walks this year.

On arrival met by a member of staff and escorted straight to my room. briefed on all services and times. Well stocked bar with a frequent visiting clientele i.e. this proved to me that the service and quality of the ales supplied were well liked by the locals. No complaints whatsoever about room or anything about this hotel, and no one should find fault with any of the service due to the professional approach that the staff took towards their duties and care of visitors. This hotel i highly recommend as it is so convenient with the M4 a few miles towards Swansea and that this is one place that really provides true value for money.

Our first visit to this pub was Christmas 2018 after shopping close by in Ystradgynlais.
We were very impressed by the warm welcome we received, and our next few visits gave us the opportunity to speak to the same welcoming gentlemen who were local regulars.
We have had snacks on a few occasions. Excellent toasted sandwiches! Prices very reasonable.
The establishment is immaculate in terms cleanliness and decor. The biking memorabilia is very interesting.
The staff are very pleasant, welcoming and engaging.
Most impressive at this difficult time of the "virus" is the control in terms of distancing.
With good humour but firmness, the staff have regularly reminded customers to keep distance. My wife and I feel very comfortable in this place.
Well done to all of you staff and regulars.

Stayed here for three nights to attend a wedding. I had a very mixed but broadly positive experience. First the positives:
The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. The room (room 8) was surprisingly comfortable - bed was good, shower was good. It was good value for money and the breakfast was outstanding!

The negatives:
There is a large extractor outside the room which when on, sounds like a jet engine and kicks out an intense food smell when the team are cooking in the kitchen - particularly at breakfast. The side metal gate which can be used to access the room is used by others and when you’re in the room, it is so loud. The biggest complaint I’d have is at the end of the night (Thursday and Friday) the staff emptied a crate of bottles into a bin at around 11.30pm. It sounds like an explosion and is right outside the room. The same thing happened at 7am on the Sunday morning.

Overall: You have to accept that you are in a very busy pub (which is actually really nice to see!) so don’t expect quiet until the pub closes. Despite the negatives above I’d still rate this a 4* experience - the only reason I mention them is to hopefully help the property avoid complaints in the future.

Had a really lovely stay at the New Swan Hotel, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and could not do enough for you. We arrived the night that most of the staff were having their long overdue Christmas party, so that was an experience. Both nights we stayed, we had drinks in the bar and the outside area was really lovely and relaxing. The breakfasts were great too, lots on offer and the staff are willing to adapt orders to taste. The room was lovely and cosy, with enough facilities and an absolutely stunning view. Would 100% recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Just returned home after a 2 night stay at the New Swan. This was our second stay , first one being before lockdown. As bikers the owner Gareth (a true biker himself ) ensures the bike is safely tucked away in his secure back yard. The rooms are well decorated and well maintained. Breakfast is wonderful, you certainly don’t need lunch after their full English. Gareth was extremely knowledgeable helping us map out a route to explore the fabulous and scenic Welsh countryside. We both fully recommend the Swan and will return again in the near future. Thank you Gareth, Mel and Rachel and all the staff . Carole & Mike Hardy

I have stayed in this hotel quite a few times over the last 5/6 years and I always enjoy the occasion and will return next year. The New Swan is constantly evolving as the owner expands and improves the rooms and available facilities and yet again my single room was clean and comfortable, with everything I needed for my motorcycle weekend with the local Triumph centre.
The staff were friendly and helpful (as always), I enjoyed a few beers in the bar and the breakfasts were good. I also made use of the clean and convenient kitchen facilities for the first time, catering for myself as I chose not to dine out on one evening. All for a reasonable price.
One minor issue was something beyond the control of the owners - three inconsiderate guests chose to sit outside my room where the motorcycles were parked, noisily finishing their beers and waking me (and others) from our sleep, before then retiring to their own rooms about 30 minutes later. The owners do have ‘keep quiet’ signage in the area but they cannot be held to account for these few inconsiderable people.
However, this minor issue did not ruin my four day stay and I have already booked a return visit.

I pitched up late afternoon on my own and being a girl I was a bit anxious but I was not only welcomed I was made to feel as if I had arrived home. The staff are very friendly but not in your face, the place is very clean, the breakfast excellent and the atmosphere really fun. I would definitely recommend and intend going back for sure!!
