I visited for a high tea with 3 others and we wish we'd gone somewhere else instead. Two of the four meals weren't very hot at all. The cakes were nothing special and when I returned my cold coffee I caught the female owner pull a ' Not Impressed ' face to her husband. I have encountered this ladies unpleasant...

Best hotel and restaurant for miles. Service second to none. Food outstanding, brilliant chef. Had Sunday carvery today, proper wholesome food. Plate full to brim with roast beef, gammon and pork, carved by chef in front of you, unlimited veg, large Yorkshire pudding finished off by the most delicious homemade choc fudge cake. Im stuffed. Proprietors so welcoming, spotless. Definately...

The ensuit was dated and not really fit for use. The beds were uncomfortable and lacking in support ( I have a back injury & was in lots of pain after laying on the bed for an hour). I'm not sure how it's rated as a three star. My experience of the owner was that she was quite rude. Though...

Despite the warm welcome at the hotel it is sad to say that we did not get a good nights sleep. The room we were given had a spring bed. We know that because the mattress was so thin you could feel every spring in it, which creaked and groaned with every breath. The braekfast was good but this did...

Stopped at the Halfway House Hotel for a meal, looks ok from the outside, needs some work done but not too bad. First thing we noticed was the smell of dog when walking in. Lounge is small but ok so we took a seat and waited....and waited. After about 10 minutes we were fed up and ready to leave when...

My husband and i met up with friends and their small children for a Sunday carvery and a catch up and what a fantastic meal. The food was absolutely delicious, the gammon was especially good! yorkshire puds (huge!), roasties and gravy were very tasty too. Cheesecake for dessert followed by a comfy relaxing seat through in the lounge to digest...

I've been coming here for the past 18 months with various members of my family and at various times. We've enjoyed every visit, whether it's been for a quick snack and girly chat over coffee or more formal for private birthday parties. What is the icing on the top of this cake is the fact that no matter what any...

Popped in for bar lunch. Ordered 2 paninis and chips. Food arrived 30 mins later. You can't really go wrong with paninis and they were ok. Bar lounge was really cold so extra layers may be needed on a cold day.
