This is a great hotel for foodies with beautifully presented rooms. Our Christmas stay was made very special with great attention to detail and unobtrusive but personal concern that our stay met our needs and wishes. We even received individual Christmas presents. Local, fresh produce formed the basis of imaginative, beautifully presented and delicious food living up to Ian MacAndrew's...

If you are thinking of visiting Blackaddie, book it now, you won't be disappointed. We had a two night stay. I didn't want to leave. We were made to feel very welcome, we were well looked after and very well fed. We experienced what I can only describe as genuine hospitality from people who really cared that we enjoyed our...

We stayed here for two nights in November and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. a warm welcome, beautiful location, sumptuous rooms with lovely views. Now I'm a bit of a 'breakfast bigot' and hate nothing more than a poorly prepared cooked breakfast with poor-quality produce... Not an issue at the Blackaddie I am pleased to report! We also had dinner on...

My wife and I visited Blackaddie in Pheasant room for three nights in June 2016. The accommodation, food, drinks and service were all excellent. Ian's beautifully cooked dinners were particularly enjoyable.

This is the second time we have stayed at this great hotel. Ian and Jane go out of their way to give the best possible service throughout the time you are there. Ian's food is wonderful, he has so many ways of working with excellent local ingredients to produce an amazing range of tastes. The breakfasts ably served by Jane...

Recommended this hotel for two friends having had previous good reports ,Unfortunately they have problems with heating so rooms are cold.Towels remain wet and new ones are not easy to source .The menu is clearly from Brakes Catering or similar giving no flexibility in dishes may be cost effective but from a chef really . Positive criticism should be appreciated...

I do not know where you stayed but it was not with us if only because of your comments re the food for if you had and you knew anything about food at all you would not have written what you did. Positive criticism is always welcome but this is anything but. Please...

I called in whilst out walking the dog in the afternoon and did not have great expectations either that the bar would be open or that dogs would be welcome.I was wrong on both counts and enjoyed an refreshing Gin and Tonic from a courteous barman. I gained the impression for the future that this would be an excellent place...
